  • Cool bird, I have a female alexandrine, shes 18 years old now. She doesnt talk nearly that much, shes actaully dead silent when Im around. Some of my friends can get her to talk to them, but I have never been able to. Im also the only person that can get her to coo for me.

  • hii there,, i have an indian ring neck,, a female,, they told me shez 7 months old,but im not sure,, how do i know her real age??? and how do i train her to love me and love to play with me??? and how do i train her to talk ??? can anyone help me please?? im a bit confused, my ringneck (liloo) is a bit shy and she does'nt like to play much, and she does'nt like to come to me, she keeps standing on her Stand and looking around and making a bit of noises sometimes (rarely)... i need help

  • at sexual maturity (2years) male bird of the species will grow in a striking black ring with pink and pale blue outer rings.... the female also sport ring but they are generally very pale and hard to see...

  • Correct!

Busey got his ring at his second molt - he was about two years and two months old.

  • bty hes cute...

  • thats female, u can see the ring is not realy clear....if u got black ring arnd went he was 1yaars old thats means its a male

  • He's a male. He has his ring now.

In fact, we had him DNA sexed, so we knew he was a male before he got his ring.

  • Also, they usually don't get their rings until their second or third molt. That's older than one year.

You might want to study up on Indian Ringnecks a bit.

  • It's trying to sleep:)SOO CUTE!!!

  • i didnt mean to be rude its just that i have a female indian ringneck and she looks the same as that, i thought it might be a female

  • i was confused too, mine is also female it took me a while to find out if she was male or female!

  • thats a female

  • No, he's a male.

They don't get their rings until their second molt. He's 3 years old now and has his ring.

Probably want to learn more about IRNs before you comment. :)

  • aww that was cool wen he/she kisses the wall its kool how the top part and bottom part of the beek moves and on us only the bottom part of our jaw moves

  • Sweet heart bird :)

  • Hi, We have just got an Indian Ringneck and was wandering what the best way of hand taming It. We think it is going to be a girl, as she has no visable ring. We would be really greatfull for any advice you can offer.

  • Well, they don't get their rings until they're about two years old!

Go to indianringneck dot com and join the forums! Everyone there is really nice and will give you reaqlly good advice. :)

  • it's weird, because my indian ringneck got his black ring around when he was 1 years of age...now he is nearly 2 yers old and his black ring is even more prominant....i thought it was very strange he developed it soo fast...

  • your bird is so well behaved! you'll notice when you asked if he was ready to go to bed, he said "no" but you didn't hear him! it was cute! i wish you had heard him. you are a great mommie though!

  • His kissing the wall is the cutest thing!! My male IRN is also quite the talker, but camera shy :(

  • he is so cute when he ask you to give him a kiss he says thank you that's cute LOL

  • Ooooo.....soo cute

I have the same parrot and he doesn't want to learn ANYTHING! He's always shouting at me and my family...I wish he was like yours.

Again, very nice video. I love your birdy

  • If he is shouting a lot then he's probably frustrated. Our bird shouts too, but it's the minority. To get your bird to talk like Busey you basically have to spend at least 30 minutes interacting with him a day, treat the bird like another person (say hello when you see him, don't ignore him, etc) and keep him out of his cage when you're home. It takes some time and discipline but if given the right attention and time your bird will scream less and be more friendly and interactive.
