  • It's unfortunate that this wonderful band was so overlooked and under appreciated.

  • A strange and wonderful balance between the Cocteau Twins and the Smiths.

  • I used to play this to death on my One Little Indian compilation video. I was totally in love with the guitarist and that smile he gave right at the end....well, it just melted my heart!

  • Brilliant!!! Love this song, love this band. Love this vid. I really miss Kitchens of Distinction.

  • Crimsonwhite1, I love those opening lyrics! I've actually written a short play after being inspired by those words.

  • thanks for posting this, forgotten gem this album.

  • Everything about this song is brilliant--it's just that simple!

  • Esta, la versión de Martin Hannett es la mejor. Tremenda banda.

  • As she walks home tonight

To her house and ignores the stars

    She knows there's no-one waiting

  • saw them in L.A. The ROxy !!!

  • A great band and should have been MASSIVE. Jules and Kev from MBV nicked the greatest guitarist award that Mr Marr thought he owned at the time from right under his fat cigar. Thanks for posting railwayed! Awesome lyrics, great songs, great live. How good were this lot?

  • Another underestimated band. But I believe that it is better. I love this band, of special form their first album "love is Hell" (1987), which sounds between a fine post punk and a beautiful and atmospheric shoegaze. They have influenced to as present bands as Editors and Interpol.

This song is from the georgeos album "starnge free world"........................please Listen to them!!!!

A little of JOY DIVISION + COCTEAU TWINS + THE CHAMELEONS U.K + THE SMITHS = KOD.

  • love this band i have the KOD best of capsule album. Is this the Martin hannett produced version? i heard he produced the song originally but they scrapped that one.

  • The single (here) was produced by Martin Hannett, but for the album the track was redone with Hugh Jones.

  • IMHO as a Hannett freak it's sad the whole Strange Free World album wasn't produced by him...

  • glorious band. i just discovered them having searched through everything labelled 'shoegaze' or 'dream pop' i could find. these guys definitely stand out. were they even considered part of those scenes?

  • I love this song - and I love band indescribable

  • the kitchens O D, are are great band, I like the sounds from the guitar they give an incredib

  • one of my favorite song

  • pure quality...thanks for posting

  • fantastic song - thanks for posting this!

  • Whatever happened to this fantastic band? Saw them loads in the early nineties, with Glastonbury topping the lot... It's a travesty!

  • you saw them a lot of times? that´s what are you saying? oh a dream come true. Never had the oportunity because i live in chile, and at that time no band (good bands) came here. LUCKY BASTARD lol

  • Thanks therno... Yes, I was a lucky bastard!! They actually played in my town in 1992 and there was only about 50 people there!!!! All time favourite band!! Bring them back!

  • how the hell did julian swales get that sound from...its incredible that sound coming from just one guitar

  • one of the greatest songs ever!!
