Is that so? That's a very serious allegation to make.
Perhaps you would like to send us the names of those people you are accusing of this along with your name. Alternatively you could drop into the SF head office at 44 Parnell Square
Compliments to Ogra for raising awareness of this issue which is tearing apart communities all over the country.
Ogra should get active and become more visible in urban centres around the country to highlight the need for government to engage with young people and their communities. Ogra should also hand out leaflets with advice to young people on this issue.
really? please explain that to me.....and explain how so many millions and millions of people have manadged to shine their brightest potential while maintaining a balanced drug life....just because a few people resort to drug misuse does NOT mean you can catagorise all users as irresponsible
Good video and really glad that the issue of alcohol abuse was mentioned as well. Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon for family and friends of alcoholics/problem drinkers and al-ateen for teenagers affected by someone else's drinking have been doing great work in Ireland for generations. Good work Ógra.
Punishment worked on a short term basis to a certain extent. Now legalisation to take drugs out of dealers hands, better funding for drug treatment, accountable police and community solidarity and empowerment is needed.
If they think the problem in Ireland is bad, they should see the drug infested ghettos in America.
I think only the IRA's old policy of punishment for drug dealers works, because believe me, as and American, I know that a goverment spending billions of dollars in a war on drugs has done nothing curb the flood of narcotics coming into this country, let alone the rates of use by the population.
