  • Favorite song of the play.

  • Does anyone know what language is this? Some sort of Bantu language...sounds South African...Zulu language, or Botswana. If you know, please enlighten...I am working with a group of young children to perform this song as a part of a Black History month program and we have about 2 weeks to nail it. I would like to be able to at least inform them what language they are singing. They already have it, for the most part...the dance teacher got them started..I have to tighten up the musicianship.

  • @7deepbreaths It seems to be a combiantion of different African languages...

  • 1:30 anyone else get there childhood slap them in the face?

  • This really is my childhood!

  • I know that everyone can hear this on YouTube but you must hear it live (preferably New York)...it's one of the most spine tingling songs on this planet. Everyone is singing this live, please please please see this show and then you'll know what I am raving about.

  • this is the most cultured broadway show i know. i love it. it draws you into the african world, and makes the lion king more real and epic.

  • man, this brings back memories. I saw this in toronto all the way back in 99 (i was only 4) it made my 4 year old life :D

  • I saw the lion king in london

  • man these ppl are really good!..

  • I can already picture seeing Mufasa and young Simba, running and playing with each other in the grass. And Zazu coming to give the morning report. ^_^ I love this song. Then again, I pretty much love all of the The Lion King broadway songs!

  • Beautiful.

  • @temujin650 please can u tell me what instruments are in this song? Or anyone else who has any idea :S thanks

  • When i listen to this song and close my eyes, I can picture a grassland with a gentle wind blowing.

  • i wish i could just watch this musical on broadway over and over for the rest of my life!! :-)

  • I cried, too. lol Absolutely incredible.

  • Is there a reason that half of this video has nothing playing?

  • @Xternium i wondered the same exact thing. i was like "is there another part of the song?"

  • I <3 the lion kinq. Such qreat music.

  • When I was 9 I played Young Nala when it toured to Boston. this brings back so many memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life =]

  • Busnell in hartford, CT

  • lol idc about the plastic animal ppl or costumes in the broadway, i just like the live music!

  • i saw the lion king on broadway! cried my amazed eyes out. in the beginning when the animals came out. blew my mind.

  • omg! i did the same. the opening music and the costumes was just so beautiful that i was moved to tears!!

  • @lovechild98 me too. i've never cried just out of the blue like that.

  • @lovechild98 me too! it was a dream come true to see it when I saw it in London.

  • @lovechild98 me tooo <3<3

  • @lovechild98 I cried during the circle of life as well, I just couldnt help myself,it is so overwhalming and so beautiful! I felt so embarrased till I noticed my bf was crying as well, lol

  • @lovechild98 i did too!

  • @lovechild98 Where I saw it, the elephants and the giraffes were the best, in my opinion. :D

  • @lovechild98 everyone cries during that. When I interviewed one actors on the touring production, she said that the procession was her favorite part because the audience brings such an energy to the show and seeing people that moved by a performance makes her want to come and work everyday.

  • @lovechild98 yes I'm not the only one that cried :)

  • I love the bass in this song; I went to see the Lion King on Fourth of July weekend and it was brilliant....completely flawless. Wicked and Lion King are the best!!

  • lol i had to dance to this for modern i thought it was weird but i ended up enjoying it☺

  • haha, me too.

  • My dance teacher did an amazing modern dance to this song.

  • im doing this song for my dance class, the coreography is amazing

  • I've gone to see it twice, and I've got to say that the Lion King is the best musical EVER.

  • Its a MUSICAL!!!

  • i saw the broadway play it was amazing .i would see it again and again

  • I had all of the songs up, but I don't have any video. A lot of the songs I put up have been removed due to copyright issues. Apparently they don't want anyone to be able to see these, because it's very hard to find anything decent on Youtube.
