  • I type like that, too. When I speak or type, I often know what I want to say, but sometimes the order gets mixed up.

  • I type like that, I mean, not all the time, but I used to think it's because I type so fast, but is it this?

  • ...Now Im thinking this whole obsession with finding a diagnostic label for myself isn't that healthy in the first place. Is there a name for that?

  • @sicktoaster

    hypochondria

  • @sicktoaster lol the irnoy

  • @sicktoaster obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • ...But depression in that case could just be a recharging period which'd explain y bipolars tend 2 eat drink & sleep > in depression when most cases r the reverse. So I figured if I was bipolar Id just veg during the 'depression' & try 2 build my energy back up(or sleep it off) & that mania could be kept + by directing my thoughts to the + & away from the irritable or paranoid.

That hypothesis helped me learn better + thinking but then I stumbled on "cluttering" & it makes sense. However,...

  • Then I lookd at bipolar. I extrapolated that it could really be a condition of naturally engaging in high amount of activity at once as result of wiring then leading to burnout, aka depression...

  • Then I thought I had Schizotypal Personality Disorder which the WHO just calls "Schizotypal Disorder" and thinks is a genetic, milder version of schizophrenia where theres no break with reality but still a lot of paranoia and some minor thought disorder problems. I had read only a brief description. Odd beliefs was a criteria and I have some beliefs ppl think are odd(politics mostly) but I read case studies & its things like being abducted by aliens as children. My beliefs arent that odd.

  • ...myself out.

I alredy kno I got ADHD. Never dxd but every1 says I do. Still not enough explanation. 2 many ppl had that in high school & had no trouble, some were even popular.

Once I thought I had Aspergers then I realized I was too spontaneous and creative(when Im not being nervous) & get bored 2 easily with routine so scratch that.

  • OK this sounds like this fits me 2 a t.

But I think I got a bigger issue.

I cant stop looking at disorders 2 try & c if I fit them.

I guess Ive always felt different. Got picked on from early age. Few friends in school. Just endlessly looking 4 answers.

+ Ive always tended 2 find more different ppl more interesting, maybe I feel a need 2b different. I never even intend 2 "get help" if I do decide I have something but to just accept me as I am & breath a sigh of relief at figuring...

  • Looks normal to me! :) Yes, I clutter also. I'm a bit more focused on one paragraph, but I tend to write notes below where I'm writing the way you do. Writing a paper in sequence is near impossible for me. I also talk so fast people who don't know me often can't follow me. All the words are there, but they just look at me like I'm speaking another language. I feel like a fast talking New Yorker trapped in the South! :)

  • Do you have any videos of yourself talking?

  • I don't have any, but Tictionary in the Related Videos mentions having cluttering in her vid Apologies: Long, Rambling & Confusing Videos. Her vid Supplement Regime Day One is a good example of someone with both cluttered style & content. Cluttering is breaks in the normal flow of speech from disorganized speech planning, talking too fast or in spurts, or simply being unsure of what one wants to say. A stutterer typically knows exactly what he wants to say but is temporarily unable to say it.

  • Tictionary talks fast & tends to drop the ends of words. Clutterers tend to under-enunciate & talk too quietly, like she does in that video. (She had to subtitle it.) Watching her, I can tell thoughts are hitting her so fast she's just trying to get them all out, and her focus sometimes wanders. She has gotten better & tends to clutter less in her later videos. The Stuttering Foundation has a good section on Cluttering, btw.

  • could you possibly re-do this video in a bigger font? i can't read a thing!

  • i am a clutterer (i think) but I don't type anything like that. not even when I am computer programming

  • Hehe, looks like how I type. :) I'm getting better though.

  • Thank you for sharing this - do you know any websites please that do audio/video examples of Cluttering?

  • i think im a clutterer as well...

i know it's not a good way to deal but i drink caffeine products my speech is more fluent.

  • I think I'm a clutterer too. Going to talk to my mom about it and maybe get therapy. I've had it for so long and knew about it, but thought I was just unintelligent or just had too much on my mind until I realized that I am extremely intelligent so I decided to see if it was an actually problem. Did some research and saw that I met all of the qualities of a clutterer.

Oh well, shit happens. It sucks but hopefully therapy can help. Good luck to you all, thee who clutters:)

  • You're awesome!

  • Yea, the mechanism that the brain uses for language is different so it affects all types of speech both written and oral.

  • Same here :( I speak so fast in some presentations that I look so nervous even though I'm not.

    I'm attending therapy.

  • How do you deal with your cluttering??

Mine is so bad that its hindering me from getting a decent job!!

  • Okay, now I visually see why it takes you so freakin' long to respond to an e-mail.... Big Hugs =0)
