  • Yeah I know the Made In America model is great, that's why I'm looking into buying one for my everyday carry, and just have the chinese model for hunting and camping..

  • @FishHobby1984 If you want a USA made Assisted model then look at Kershaw and Buck, that is really about it that make things here in the US still. SOG is good but made in Japan or Taiwan, same goes for CRKT.

  • The piece on the back of the chinese model that I'm refering to is actually a better, and is not offered on the American model. I have been carrying my chinese model for a long time with plenty abuse, even skinned and field dressed a few animals with it, and its still working and looking great.. Its far from a POS!!

  • @FishHobby1984 Nope the Chinese model is garbage, with garbage screws, garbage steel and overall an overpriced piece of junk. The USA auto is a thousand times better quality. Kershaw and SOG make better assisted models but the Gerber Autos are very well made.

  • So let me ask you this, I have the 06 fast assisted version of this knife, which is cheaper.. So why did mine come with a piece on the back of the knife to fill in the gap in the handle, but the auto don't?

  • @FishHobby1984 One is a piece of junk made in China, that would be the assisted model and the automatic model is made in the USA. Big difference is quality and price.

  • A way over priced knife!!! But the reason for that is supply and demand.. This is a very hard to find blade!!! you might see one on ebay every once in a while!!!

  • @FishHobby1984 No it is actually priced pretty reasonable and you won't find it on ebay because you are not allowed to sell automatic knives in the US on ebay, it is however listed on my website at AssistedKnife

  • do they post to uk ?????????

  • @SuperXrampagex Aye m8

  • the only problem is you can't use it in the states because autos above 2 inches are illegal in most states

  • @SoldierCyfix That is very untrue. They are legal in all places but are restricted to use for only military and law enforcement in some places. The 2 inch law is for California for carrying them in public for non qualified persons. You need to read up on the laws and stop making assumptions on things that you obviously have no knowledge of.

  • It looks just like the Cold Steel tanto issued to the SEALs. I really Gerber products. Where can I get one at very good "veterans discount" price ?

  • @RECONDO101st Sure email me direct at AssistedKnife and I will get you a discount no problem, thanks for your service to our country sir, and I'd be honored to help you out.

  • nice

  • well Gerber makes a good knife yes i agree, but Benchmade makes a good knife as well. it sounds like a personal problem to me , to say its junk is just not true its a different style knife some times the Gerber is just to big to carry around for every day use

  • In the MC its Gerber or Benchmade to choose from

  • @siekiersk Gerber hands down, Bitchmade is junk and does not deserve any support. Gerber makes a solid knife for the military.

  • I carry one of these. It was issued to me in the army.Very useful all around knife.Tough as nails.

  • You sound like Blankman lol

  • great knife for outdoors

  • I get knives for free sence my brother is supply in the air force he give me all kinds of knives for free like this knife that I commented on

  • Heh, I like this video, it's pretty quirky while presenting the info.

  • is there anywhere to buy a less then 2 in. push button switch blade, only the kind that's not folding...i don't remember the exact name of it

  • Yes, they are listed in the California Legal section on my website.

  • otf, out the front

  • wtf loose the music... thats a big ass pocket knife! very nice

  • Is the spring action good?

  • Is the spring action good?

  • I was considering getting this knife or the benchmade afo 2. Putting aside how much of an asshole benchmade is, which knife would you say is better? What about spring power and sharpness?

  • This is military issue, guys in Iraq and Afghanistan are using this model. So yeah it is good stuff, I think the best model out there, it is a bit big but it is designed this way to use it with gloves on.

  • alright thanks for the really fast reply and thats what i thought. Also i know gerber makes great knives.

  • are there a few knifes that the military guys can choose from?

  • @Roadsideimports

    Sure is man.

My bro' got me one of these from when he was serving over there.

    I cannot fault this tool.

  • Since when does Gerber use S30V steel? I would have expected this knife to be made from 154cm or ATS-55 not S30V. I think I might pick one of these up some day.

  • you know...ive never seen a knife that i like better than this one..sry to comment twice but thats how happy i am with it. thankfully the army gave me one for free.

  • GREAT KNIFE. but dangerous when you close it, not to be taken lightly like i did. closed it on the point of my middle finger and took off the whole section next to my nail. military medical ftw

  • That sucks, it is a sharp knife that is for sure.

  • What the hell are you talking about?

Who's my competition that you are referring to?

This is a childish comment from a 20 year old put some meat to it and lets see what you have to say.

  • I just bought one yesterday still waiting for it in the mail. cant wait to put it to use over seas

  • lol u said duty

  • what is the edge profile on this knife?

  • They come in plain edge or partially serrated edge.

  • hell yeah i have one and i love it.

  • cool, i havent seen a gerber switchblade before.
