In order to understand Goku's Japanese voice you need to watch a lot of Japanese DBZ. The voice DOES fit the character if you watch enough. Akira Toriyama hand picked the voice after all. It has to do with the fact Goku has a boyish personality and in cartoons women do boys voices. In One Piece a women does Luffy's voice as well. You're probably used to the English version so you think Goku is supposed to sound tough. The rest of the Jap voices are manly though, except for Gokus.

I just had a great new idea for a new dbz series. Instead of going into the future liek most of these characters try how about going into the past. To give more depth on saiyan life before goku was born. Possibly include characters during bardocks and vegetas childhood. Even include the FIRST super saiyan that was mentioned in the namek saga. this is obviouslt SS1 but it has the characteristics of a SS2. The brighter hair, the lightning around him but by looking at the shade of his suit and the stlye of his hair you can easily tell its SS1
