One thing that should be clarified is that these images do not show torture. Torture involves inflicting excruciating pain. What is shown here is humiliation. It is degrading, unlawful and immoral, but not torture. The intentional mis-use of words can be very dangerous, even when used with good intentions.

The cavalier treatment of the photos of torture victims could be objectionable (and many have objected here), but OTOH doesn't it symbolically represent the attitude of the current administration toward many issues of violation of individual rights? I think so. Thus, I think the video makes a semi-subtle point in an attention-grabbing manner. I approve.

I know. It may cross the line. But I can honestly say that if I were one of those guys beibg tortured I would be glad that at least my suffering and humiliation went to some good. I would feel that, if using my picture helped get an anti-torture candidate elected, then my suffering wasn't totally in vain.
