  • Rip the audio from this clip at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • great video but im a newbie and would like to learn this but am having trouble seeing the notes you are playing, could you post this with a closer view and a slower more explained version, thanks

  • @a300mayer

thanks, and I'd say that this riff is not really a "newbie" level riff. if you want to learn a Van Halen riff or two, try Running With The Devil, You Really Got Me, or Jump. good luck, and keep rockin'!

  • Great Job

  • @robflanagan250

    THANKS! happy holidays...

  • Great!

  • Can you please do a similar vid tutorial for Little Dreamer .. please :D

  • LOL......CCMLFMA......I get that shit every time I listen to this tune at max. volume.......cant help it, brah......classic VH makes you wanna boogie

  • would love to see a lesson on Take your whiskey home, off of women and children first. this was a cool lesson though. much appreciated.

  • thanks! Take Your Whiskey is cool.

  • Thats a well taught tutorial because when you hear the tune you automaticaly wonder where the 3rd instrument is an eddy and his brother are doing the 2 guitar parts...right on sir.thank you.

  • Great tone! What's your bridge pickup/amp combo?

  • Thanks! Well, the pickup is a Gibson Burstbucker #1. The amp is actually an old Peavey Audition Chorus (with two 6-inch mid-range speakers). No effects.

  • I honestly like the sound better when you blend the two sounds together. however, thats just me.

  • way off key

  • Earlier, I did say that I'm in E (standard); I don't play in Eb normally. I'll say this since you bring up a great issue: it's WAY more important to play with good feel and good tone; all of that comes from your hands, not from being in Eb. These days, players play in dropped tunings to get a darker, fatter sound, but sometimes it's also because their technique sucks. If a player has their technique and tone together, they won't have to drop their tuning to sound fatter; darker, yes; fatter, NO.

  • You've got the CCMLFMA (Cant Keep My Legs From Moving Around) Syndrome! I thought I was the only one with this terrible affliction! Happens every time I play my guitar. LOL. Nice job.

  • thanks, man. the shit just make me move! actually, it's also a way for me to keep my time together.

  • Thank you so much for breaking down this classic VH riff. a lot of my original jams seem to stem off this type of riffing and Chuck Berry's style. By learning the right way to play Feel Your Love it has opened a lot of doors for me..Thanks again !!!!!!

  • hey, thanks bro! I'm glad you were able to pull something from the video.

  • Great tone! Is this in standard tuning?

  • hey Thanks! yeah, that is in standard (E).

  • so thats how you play it. Most modern tabs get this song wrong, you nailed it, thanks

  • thank you!

  • thanks. yeah, i saw Eddie do that tune (on a video), it was tough to clearly see, but i think he plays it differently as he goes through the tune. kind of alternating ways, but not really. one of the things i've noticed about Eddie is that he tends to change the way he plays certain riffs, like Panama. I guess the things most important is that you get the right feel and that it grooves.

  • great work isn't the 1st note actually 2 notes i play the a flat along w/ your e note

    together on the 5th & 4th strings

e = 7th fret / 5th str a flat = 6th fret / 4th string is that correct as well or does he alternate between the 2 ways.

  • You are such a good teacher! I really like how you go deep into the riff and teach the details. Awesome job man!

  • THANKS!

  • nice man lol cuz i have a gio ibanez and it looks alot like that but diff color pick gaurd and it has two pickups and a humbucker

  • haha and thats an ibanez??

  • that guitar is a "thrown together thing." maybe I should call it T³ ! In fact, I think I will!

  • a ur good dude and u move alot when u play lol dont worry i do it to

  • ha! thanks. it's really about keeping the time and groove together. I couldn't play it any other way.

  • love that riff. how do ya make it squeal? been trying to do that for yrs and can never get it right =(

  • thanks! check out a tutorial by Justin Sandercoe on 'false harmonics.' type up TE-012 • Pinch Harmonics; it should help.

  • Excellent job man...........................

  • Thanks!

  • you are not defricheur of brousse no you are great but to slow you are the jungle book u rock

  • thanks!....I think?

  • dude, that was great. sounds great

  • thanks!

  • dam right when i thought i was getting good, i had to see this........nice playing to dam nice honestly

  • thanks, orgasmtron. getting bummed when seeing/hearing great players happens to me, too. learn from them, keep pluggin,' and have as much fun as possible.

  • You are welcome dude, it is ok man, i usually keep trying until i get it,even if i never get it,,,,,,i just move on to another song.......i just try to play the hell out of the songs that I am fortunate enough to learn lol....keep rocking dude

  • Great playing! Great feel! I can tell you've been playing for a long time. Most people just "play" the right notes. You have developed your own feel which you don't see very often on youtube. Keep it up!

  • thanks, eddierocky!

    I appreciate the kind words.

    keep rockin'!
