I dont get it, how communism would change this? Do you really believe that life in communist regime would be better? Stalin wanted to destroy the higher class in his nation, people had to come through lacks of food, but he himself lived in riches. Communism is wrong, and it was proven once. And bussinesmen are not evil, and are no way responsible for poverty, they did nothing wrong by turning their long studies and smart ideas into money.
value need not be instrumental, that is, societal "value" does not come into being when it directly corresponds to the bottomline; people have value in their own right and are not commodities. When you reduce education, art, social productive labor, etc, to the level of an exploited commodity, to an exchange value, you ultimately end up either privleged enough to miss the point or as the children depicted in the video who are judged by your system to be devoid of value, thus worthless.
Before Capitalism was put into place the people living in poverty was under 1 percent. After it was put in place, more than 40% of people were living in poverty. Life in the regime may have not been a glorious one, but very few suffered not being able to put food on the table or having a roof over their head.
Well, that could partly be true. In the Communist society the USSR was, housing was supplied to the people, and very very little were left without jobs. The fact of the matter is, there can only be so much money in circulation, keeping it's value. So, if at one point all this money was distributed equally, there would be no poverty. However, now that there's Capitalism, a man can earn as much as he pleases, thus others must suffer for this. Get where I'm coming from?
Yeah, soviet union built a lot of houses, in fact i lived in a soviet house few years ago, not that bad :). 50% of buildings in my city are back from soviet times. Anyway, if one man is earning more, it doesnt mean the other cant, there's always a way, so it definatly depends a lot on people.
What I'm trying to say though is there can only be so much money in circulation or else it will suffer mass inflation. For example, if there was a small society, and there was $1,000,000 in circulation, only so many can be rich, others will have to suffer from it, unless there is equalization. How was the soviet house? I'm from Canada and in school they always preach on how the USSR failed and how the housing provided was inadequate. We have a nice little debate going here.. :)

Aún así, un sistema como el socialista (o comunista, llámalo como quieras), que se basa en la expropiación forzosa, en la deprivacion del fruto del trabajo a todo individuo, esté de acuerdo o no, podrás ver tú mismo que no es simplemente una fantasía, sino una aberración. Una tremenda injusticia, que ni permite avanzar a un país (eso se ve fácil), ni permite siquiera ser mínimamente feliz.

However, I can tell from reading older books in libraries that when those two nations were at a psychological war, there existed much propaganda of how hard Russian people had it under a Communist regime. However, today, you hear nothing of what's happening in Russia, all you find is more and more books coming out for youth saying how bad Communism is, and about it's failure in Russia. I dont get it, how communism would change this? Do you really believe that life in communist regime would be better? Stalin wanted to destroy the higher class in his nation, people had to come through lacks of food, but he himself lived in riches. Communism is wrong, and it was proven once. And bussinesmen are not evil, and are no way responsible for poverty, they did nothing wrong by turning their long studies and smart ideas into money.

value need not be instrumental, that is, societal "value" does not come into being when it directly corresponds to the bottomline; people have value in their own right and are not commodities. When you reduce education, art, social productive labor, etc, to the level of an exploited commodity, to an exchange value, you ultimately end up either privleged enough to miss the point or as the children depicted in the video who are judged by your system to be devoid of value, thus worthless.

Before Capitalism was put into place the people living in poverty was under 1 percent. After it was put in place, more than 40% of people were living in poverty. Life in the regime may have not been a glorious one, but very few suffered not being able to put food on the table or having a roof over their head.

Well, that could partly be true. In the Communist society the USSR was, housing was supplied to the people, and very very little were left without jobs. The fact of the matter is, there can only be so much money in circulation, keeping it's value. So, if at one point all this money was distributed equally, there would be no poverty. However, now that there's Capitalism, a man can earn as much as he pleases, thus others must suffer for this. Get where I'm coming from?

Yeah, soviet union built a lot of houses, in fact i lived in a soviet house few years ago, not that bad :). 50% of buildings in my city are back from soviet times. Anyway, if one man is earning more, it doesnt mean the other cant, there's always a way, so it definatly depends a lot on people.

What I'm trying to say though is there can only be so much money in circulation or else it will suffer mass inflation. For example, if there was a small society, and there was $1,000,000 in circulation, only so many can be rich, others will have to suffer from it, unless there is equalization. How was the soviet house? I'm from Canada and in school they always preach on how the USSR failed and how the housing provided was inadequate. We have a nice little debate going here.. :)

They are quite nice, some are shitty, newer ones are quite nice. Many people live in them and dont complain about it. Look it up in google. I think CCCP succeded in housing :)

Class system have to exist. There will always be upper, middle and lower class.
East Germany fell flat on its ass because of Communism. In Russia, the economy is growing, people now can buy what they want with their money, stores now exist without people waiting in line for basic supplies. Do people actually like waiting in line just for some apples.
