I was there a while back....stayed one night and transfered to Arenas Blancas which was soooo much better (for me). Though not knocking this place to each his own.. I wish they would have had a swim up bar (arenas blancas doesnt have one either) Sigh!!!

If you are what they call "a national" - meaning that you LIVE in Cuba, you cannot get a room at a hotel, you cannot make a reservation and pay in dollars much less dine at a restaurant unless they accept Cuban pesos there.

What really pisses me off about this, is that Cubans who live in Cuba cannot even dream of going to those places. Amazingly enough, even if they have dollars, they are not allowed in these hotels. Unbelievable, eh?

There were hundreds of Cubans in this hotel (especially in the weekend).

My information was, that "Nationals" get the rooms for free (gratification for work and maybe good connections...)

Now, that's a different thing (gratification from work). Normally only in your dreams would you be able if you are a "National" to even get a room there.

Good ol' Villa Cuba. Good times! I was back there May 2002 and had a really fun vacation. The people were great. I was just at the Blau Varadero resort December 2006 and i can say that it just wasn't quite the same...perhaps Villa Cuba is just my first love! Love the vid, thanks for posting.
