The biggest difference between bruce and other artists is you can tell he loves what he does and would still be in a band even if he didnt make millions of dollars. Alot of artists just do it since the money is good and you can definately tell the difference between the 2 types.

Yeah, it's outstanding. For me the best song is Into The Fire, the message that it conveys is so moving in that there is nothing to fear in death, that it is a start of a new beginning. I could listen to it all day and the Live In Barcelona DVD is magnifcent, The Rising Tour.

I was at a very low point in my life...in drug rehab...basically feeling sorry for myself...and I used to put head phones on and ride my bike...and this album made me realize that if those people in New York could pick themselves up after that tragedy...then so could I!!...That we as humans are at are best when things are at there worse......

@billybillyboab I'm going to sound horrible for someone who is a huge Springsteen fan but there were a lot of better albums in the 00's. This is one of the best rock albums in the 00's but I would put Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, Sticks and Stones, and The Young and the Hopeless above it. It is his best album after Born in the USA though.

"The Rising" was written about a firefighter on 9/11. "My City of Ruin" however was written about Asbury Park.

Springsteen is a near-illiterate, and this is a pitiful song,dreck, garbage. La la la la la.

There were no good rock songs that came out of 9/11. Sad,but true. The only decent songs that came out of that horrible event were from country artists: Alan Jackson's "Where Were You?" and Darryl Worley's "Have You Forgotten". I've never heard anything beyond those two. 9/1 was not a "la la la la la la la" event. Trust me, I was there.
