  • This guy was awful, no wonder everyone went nuts for The Beatles.

  • tommy steele still thinks he's a big star ( wont sign autographs etc) . Biggest tosser I've ever come across

  • Brought a tear to my eye. Reminded me so much of my childhood, and mostly of my darling Dad. He used to sing this to my Sister and me. Brilliant :-)

  • Thumbs up if you came here after watching Lee Mack live at the Apollo.

  • @NathanH97 hahah exactly!

  • Steele has a brother Colin hicks, now an aging guy just like tommy but a couple of years younger.

Colin was also a singer, riding off the back of his famous brother tommy, even sounded like him, he had a short lived fame and a small performance in a film and then just faded away.

Tommy has supported his brother ever since, bought him a house, supported his brothers family including putting his children through private school, holidays, money etc etc..

So Tommy is a real gent, met him 3 times

  • @kevinturvy I'm related to him, but only fairly distantly. I think he's my late grandad's cousin. Wish he'd support me! He does sound like a real gent, though.

  • what wonderful memories this lovely little song baught back.

  • Ive seen lots of white bulls in the rings in Spain - but they were always big white bulls

  • I often wonder how many impressionable little white bulls ended up in the bullring thanks to Tommy.

  • @Seaventeares NONE.

  • superb innocent fun, happy days!

  • awww this brings back so many happy memories, my nanna used to sing this to me.........xxx

  • bloody brilliant

  • sooooooooooo cuteeeeeee xx:x

  • This was the first song I heard on a record player. Aged 8. Still good.

  • Try crossing a field where a Charolais bull is, these little white bulls aren't tame.

  • Did Tommy fart at 2:12?

  • @mistofoles 2:16 I think he did. All jokes aside a good song from the old days

  • Comment removed

  • It's a song about a bull who happens to be white. How can it be racist?

  • It was written by Jeff Randal.

  • I thought this was written by Mike Pratt actor and father of Guy Pratt bassist of Pink Floyd!

  • this is a brilliant song, reminds me of my childhood too! makes me cry when i hear it xx

  • isnt this racist now?? but good song haha

  • I love all your films Tommy

    But this is my favorite

  • If you like this song, search youtube for the Barron KInights song 'Little White Bum'. It's harmless, affectionate - and very funny.

  • My mum used to sing this to me all the time. Haha.

  • Love this song, brings such happy memories of my childhood, love love it.

  • I loved this song so much when I was little I arranged a performance for it to celebrate\Spain at Brownies culture week (about 1978) I wore a papier mache mask and was the front half of the infamous 'Little white bull' !! It is not racist --it is sweet and charming and about being seen as different to the norm!

  • Love it! Thanks for posting.

  • actual bull fighting apart .this was my first ever record bought me by my granny and I still have it...I hasten to add I do not play it!

  • Mike Pratt, was an acomplished jazz guitarist, ( hence the appearance of one of his guitars in many a scene during R&H ), & decent composer, & indeed wrote this little ditty.

    A song celebrating blood sports,

    now, lets see...

There once was a happy fox, ...

  • I sing this song to my Jack Russell Terrier...he's my little white bull.

  • I understand this song was actually co-written by Lionel Bart, Tommy Steele and Mike Pratt. Yes, the late Mike Pratt who played Jeff Randall in Randall and Hopkirk.

  • when did this first come out??

i first heard it when i was 7-8 and i am 18 now

  • 1959....

  • i cant believe its 50 years since i went to see this as a little kid and i enjoyed the song as much now as i did then :)

  • im not white and i know this aint racist. this is a classic british musical film something to be proud about not something you try to taint with racist bollox. big up tommy steele

  • some people should get a life

  • LITTLE WHITE BULL! lol, soo good :)

  • It's a hare and tortoise type story ffs. All this racist talk is absolutely ridiculous.

  • poor people, you who sees racism, in every little thing

  • for a period of time in the 1950s tommy steele was bigger than elvis on the charts.dont try and read racism into little white bull its a song about of a little white bull end of story

  • i don't think there's anything racist about this.. if you really wanna study the song it's about the minority being aknowledged!? haha.. but then every1 seems to think the words "black" and "white" used for anything now are dirty words.. ridiculous.

  • Why do people have to bring racism into eveything these days you make me puke Tommy steele a great entertainer from Bermondsey and i agree with cartoonsbystan read his autobiography and you might learn a little,No wonder this country is in the mess its in,with all your political correctness, what ever happened to Bah Bah Black sheep

  • I thought Tommy Steele came from Mason Street, which is on the Walworth side of Old Kent Road and not the Bermondsey side. I lived round the corner in Crosslet Street.

  • at xmas time tommy used to come and visit his family in my flats in dockhead bermondsey he was a luvly man spoke to everyone it annoys me when people call him racist when your family fought in both world wars

  • there's no racism here peeps, it's about the fact that a majority of bulls are black, the white one felt left out, but evetually became loved, opposite to racism me thinks

  • Exactly - that's what I would have thought. This is all about tolerance, and is actually anti-racist, I would say.

  • Tommy Steele is the bastion of Britishness, a true entertainer and a warm and charitable gentleman.

The new acts could learn a lot from him instead of swearing and spitting etc.

    Tommy Steele rocks!!!!

  • Bollocks!

  • They're just those Politically Correct nutters.

  • The song like the singer comes from better, more decent times -but you'd have to have lived in them to know the difference

  • He didn't - he's just the singer. How about the cruelty of the bullfight.

  • Answer to mylestails. Didn`t you notice in the clip that most of those kids were dark skinned? Silly little prat! Don`t you dare call Tommy a racist! Read his autobiography, thats if you can read. Times have changed in the last 50 years, Mores the pity. Stan

  • tommy steele..like so many in his day...an all round entertainer...wish there were more like them nowadays

  • My older brother used to sing this to me when I was about 7 years old. Never heard it since, and I am in my mid 40s. Bit sereal isn't it.

  • My aunt gave me lots of singles, this was one of them. 45 rpm I think?

  • My mum used to sing this song to me when I was little ^_^

And i'm going to sing it to my little one too when it arrives

  • Yeah, my dad sang it to me. I've come searching for this cos I wanted to sing it to my little boy now.

  • Mine too:) It brings wonderful memories back for me.

  • this is my uncles fav song ^_^

  • what movie is this from?

  • The film was the same as the title of the song......I was one of the little kids in the film!!! Who pinched all the years???

  • Sorry to contradict you..., i think you'll find the film was called "Tommy the torreador".

  • they dont make films like this anymore brings back happy memories,

  • This is where David Bowie got his act, ain't it?
