The buildings & locals are indeed Eastern Europe.
The photos however are about the people - most of what they were doing as typically religious Jews of the day... (many pics are from Poland)
- relaxing, a lot of studying, praying, teaching, working, smiling, discussing, and just hangin out with the kids.
