  • 1967. Unreal.

  • Baba O'RILEY :)

  • i love this song on so many levels, like racing unicorns with god across the rings of Saturn

  • This has brought tears to my eyes.

Fantastic memories of '72 with my mates Malcolm & Patsy (where are u now?).. I was 19yrs old, never on drugs, staring at the Lava lamp for hours watchin the changin shapes listenin to this. Also reminds me of recordin it onto a cassette & walkin around Shirley Hills with my new Philips cassette recorder playin this, & layin down watchin the sun shinin through the trees. Man alive. This track is truly wonderful. Timeless.

I have tears now. What happened ????

  • @bootsamou doesn't matter if you were doing drugs or not. All psychedelic drugs do is force you into a state of mind you can just as well reach on your own, under your own terms. it's called meditation, and everyone does it. Psychedelics are intended to be tools used to aid in self-exploration, just like this music.

  • I can't believe I had never approached Terry Riley before... I'm 45, I've listened to progressive rock for 32 years and only now I understand why he is always mentioned as an influence on the work of musicians such as Oldfield and Ratledge. Shame on Me!

  • ancêtre du krautrock ! Kraftwerk listened to this, sure !

  • So innovative and yet so fresh. I cannot believe this was introduced in the 1960s!

  • @1bentley4ever Yeah, nothing innovative ever came out of those times.

  • This is a massive groove! 'In C' merely sets the stage for 'Rainbow'. Terry, the Kronos may pay, but they'll never make righteous holistic dance music for body, soul & head like this, 'The Ides of March' or 'The Harp of New Albion'.

Show Pete Townshend one more time how to REALLY rock.

  • Very wierd...like someone wants to tell you something by this music..maybe feelings?or how life is done??hmm

  • How old is TR now ? Where is he living ? I owe him great respect : for two things : 1-he introduced me to eastern cultures &2- His music kept me happy since the age of 17 (I am now 55). That's a very great gift.

  • @fondetforme He lives at his Ranch in Rural California, making music and living organically.

  • I wish I had heard of this in my younger days with experimentation and all.

  • *O*

  • To think, this song is in GTA IV.

  • Loooove <3

  • Megaman/Tetris/Sonic/Gunstar Heroes/Super Mario all in one o_O....

  • game music indeed, jeez... :eyes look all around:

  • Someone who could concieve this back in 1967 is an implausible visionary.

  • game music...hehe

  • Trippyyyyyyy

  • Woah, this is the chillest thing I've ever heard.
