This is the early version of the NuTone "Regal", aka the 'accordion', successor to the "Hi-Tone". If I can help, send me a message and I can give you some advice. I collect old chimes, and sometimes have to fix 'em up.
Nice model, called Nutone Accordian. Particular model needs a new electro mechanism. Old door chimes tend to burn out. Generally happens with excessive use or when someone holds the doorbell press button for more than two seconds. Look at the precision pins, "known as the hammers" to make sure there free of dust or oil and do not lube the pins, as it will attract more dust binding up the solenoid. If buzzing sound occurs after the chime bell was hit than there could be a fracture in the tube.
COOL!
