Last night I was searched because a drug dog "indicated" (sniffed me) that I had drugs on me, the following unlawful search ended up proving I did NOT have drugs on me. The police then threatened to arrest me for not having identification. I responded to the threat by asserting that I knew my rights, and that since I was not driving a vehicle I did not need to prove identification. I have a court date now. Wish me luck.
@ILiveToPvp The problem is that he did NOT indicate anything. He sniffed the car. He did not bark, he did not scratch. He made no indication at all. The officer walked right up to my window and told me that I had drugs on me. He did not say "my drug dog has indicated that you have drugs" or something to that effect, rather he indicated that I was guilty.
@loveisamistake It could have been any sort of indicator. I've seen things such as the dog will sit among many other things, depending on the training. Anyways, you didn't have drugs on you so you should be fine in court. As for him indicating if you were guilty, even if he had arrested you, you are innocent until proven guilty. Be thankful we have those laws and our court system compared to some other countries where you wouldn't even have the right to talk about it on here.

this does not go by every state. in NC if you have a concealed handgun permit and your packing concealed and the police ask to see your ID, you have to show them. But since you're weapon is concealed, they dont know you have it so having a weapon cant be the reason why they are requiring id. @motorkola2 I would say, give them your I.D. or name if you dont have one, then ask them if you are being detained or if youre free to go. That way you comply with identification but also express that you dont feel yourself or the officer has reason to continue any further, and see where that take you. Anyone have any opinions on this? Im just trying to think of the best way to manage a situation like this with the cops.

Last night I was searched because a drug dog "indicated" (sniffed me) that I had drugs on me, the following unlawful search ended up proving I did NOT have drugs on me. The police then threatened to arrest me for not having identification. I responded to the threat by asserting that I knew my rights, and that since I was not driving a vehicle I did not need to prove identification. I have a court date now. Wish me luck.

@ILiveToPvp The problem is that he did NOT indicate anything. He sniffed the car. He did not bark, he did not scratch. He made no indication at all. The officer walked right up to my window and told me that I had drugs on me. He did not say "my drug dog has indicated that you have drugs" or something to that effect, rather he indicated that I was guilty.

@loveisamistake It could have been any sort of indicator. I've seen things such as the dog will sit among many other things, depending on the training. Anyways, you didn't have drugs on you so you should be fine in court. As for him indicating if you were guilty, even if he had arrested you, you are innocent until proven guilty. Be thankful we have those laws and our court system compared to some other countries where you wouldn't even have the right to talk about it on here.

The odd boom noise were heard intermittently separate from collapse (probably gas canisters bursting), not the telltale noise of high-explosives. Controlled demolition explosions are louder and heard all at once at instance of collapse.
And bombs couldn't even survive the inferno, the explosives would melt and the circuitry fail.

this does not go by every state. in NC if you have a concealed handgun permit and your packing concealed and the police ask to see your ID, you have to show them. But since you're weapon is concealed, they dont know you have it so having a weapon cant be the reason why they are requiring id.
