The media and others like to focus on the fringe members protesting; the hippies and the homeless and the radicals. The only thing the 99% movement is missing is the other 98 percent. When things get bad enough and "common," or "normal" people realize that the system isn't working and it's time for a major change, Occupy will grow by the millions. We don't have capitalism anymore, we have corporatism-- and it does a good job of taking care of the ruling class. Not so good in taking care of us.

I have read some pretty ugly comments about the protesters. They are unemployed bums, they dont shower, the list goes on. It doesnt seem to occur to the people making these comments that there are NO jobs for these people; primarily because of the GFC. It seems that the drones of society are the ones that support the bankers. I can see no way out for the US financial system and therefore, logically, these protest will get worse.

The top 1% in America owns 43% of all financial wealth whereas the bottom 80% owns just 7%. That puts us at about the same level as Uganda and Rwanda -- and worse than such Arab spring countries as Egypt. The extreme concentration of wealth in the hands of the few is never good for a nation or its economy.
