  • She's stunning!

  • Did you record the historically accurate little mermaid that we see a glimpse of in the cinderella movie?

  • Are there any other drawing processes that you're going to post?

  • I don't know that this is rely all that historically accurate, Pocahontas was like 12 years old at the time of the story, the only reason most people imagin her this way is because disney rewrites history and fary tales Its a rely nice digital painting though :D

  • >:" O

what the hell? why does your video have the orchestral songy of my school song D ": (at around 4:19)... i can hear the lyrics in my head... do you have just one song playing throughout this entire thing?

  • @darkfire090 Ok nevermind, I think it's the same thing from Gustav Holst - The Planets Op.32 Saturn

  • i'm so jealous of your talent :) your artwork on deviantart is amazing and watching the process is incredible! stupid question, but where did you learn to use photoshop etc? i wanna get a tablet but honestly when it comes to photoshop i don't know where to start!

  • Do you think Rapunzel is an option for the collection?

  • @BreakfastAtDior912 there is a rapunzel now check it on deviantart! :)

  • I played this song in band... xD

  • I watch things like this...and all I think is how freaking talented people are! ^_^

  • great video and final result.

what was the picture you used for reference? i saw quick flashes of it during the video and it looks interesting.

  • Amazing!!!!

  • are you going to put up a video for the Sleeping Beauty drawing?

  • @TwilightOtaku666 Apologies, I didn't record Sleeping Beauty.

  • Flit!

  • Amazing~ but....how is this 'Historically Accurate'? when Pocahontas was only 11 or 12 when she Met John Smith and the other Europeans??...just wondering...

    but besides that...it is still a wonderful job~ C:

  • @mywolfheart It's a historically accurate version of the Disney character- you can check out the post on deviantart to read the full description and explanation.

  • @Shoomlah Oh I see(: thank you for explaining

  • wonderful video, but could you slow it down a little? It is hard to keep up sometimes, Maybe make the video 10 or 11 minutes instead of 8? I dunno, just a suggestion. : )

  • If anyone's wondering what the music in the background is, I just figured out it's "Jupiter" by Gustav Holst - I knew I recognized it from somewhere, but had trouble placing it. Turns out we played it (or a simplified version I guess, though it was still the hardest piece we did) in band at high school. So ... if anyone else was wondering, there you go?

  • As someone else asked, I'm really curious about your method of shading, because I see that you use layer masks? I'm just wondering how that works exactly, since it goes my so quickly.

  • This is Amazing

  • OMG!!!! I played this song in my highschool band XD We were third in state that year

  • Love watching your process work! Even in fast forward

  • Wohoaw that was awesome! And that shading technique, I was like 'Ooohh that's clever' and it looks so good!

  • I have to know... How do you shade? It looks like you shade on a separate layer, and then change it to multiply? I'm not sure since it goes so fast XD But it looks like an awesome method! ^^

  • @moulinSP85 An easy way to do this is duplicate all your flat layers, merge all the duplicates into one, make the layer white, then taking a dull, light desaturate purple, shade on the layer ABOVE the white. When you're done with that, create a clipping mask to the white and set the white layer to multiply - then you can easily change the tone of the shadows. It's a quick way and sometimes needs a little bit of tweaking per item of clothing and the reflectiveness, but it speeds stuff up.

  • what program did you use to take the video?

  • It looks great Claire! Very inspiring, I feel bad that I have no time to draw today, I feel like doing just that after watching this.

  • I like how you apparently did a color study first then laid in the values. Did you do the values on a layer underneath the color and then brought them in somehow? If so I'm very curious about that. :D

  • I would love to know what your brush settings for inking are! so clean!

  • Hi! Amazingly done! One question: When you drew the rifle you drew it horizontally then rotated it into place, don't you experience any quality loss in the lines when rotated in photoshop, or do you have some kind of trick? My lines loose their crispness when rotated.

  • @GenSilver249 Technically, yes, but it's a nigh invisible loss when I'm working at 11 x 17", 300 dpi- I'll only rotate something once to make sure the lossiness doesn't pile up, so usually there's still a hidden layer with the pristine rifle somewhere in my document if I decide to change it again.

  • So many lineart passes @__@ May I ask which brush you used for the final one? It's moving on it's own as you draw o.o Fascinating!

  • You draw so amazingly. Words don't even describe...

On top of that, Pocahontas was my favorite of all Disney movies as a little girl of age 4, so this is major nostalgia. Overall fantastic job, thanks for putting this up. :)
