I think I'm willing to add glitter tats to my kit but is there any changes in our insurance liability because of the glue and the adhesive on the vinyl stencils?
I know you said when you reuse them they tend to get dirty but can they possibly be cleaned maybe with baby wipes?
Also, how long does it take for the glue to dry? What do you do in the meantime while you're waiting for the glue to dry....say if you have an impatient kid??
@PriscillaGarcia2001 You just put them back on the backing and put the clear layer back on top and they're ready for one or two more uses. More intricate stencils can't be used more than once because they're too hard to be put back together. Also, keep in mind that the stencil will look messy after the first use because it will be covered in glitter.
Hi Lisa. I went to America and I saw in San Diego Zoo a glitter tattoo stall. I wanted to try but I know my mom will so no because she does not know how to get it off. Can you help me?
@Elya266 I'll be honest, it can be tricky to get off, and almost impossible if you try to do it within the first two days of getting it! But, after it's been on for about a week, some soap, a wash cloth, and a REALLY rigorous scrubbing should do the trick :)
u know what would be weird ok so i keep my face painting in the bathroom and that glue thing looked like nail polish to my little sis and then she puts it on! i just came up with this story so its not real. but it would be funny any ways awesome vid!
Thamks for the suggestions. You gave me an idea too. I may scan them all in and print of the pages on cardstock. Then I'll laminate then so i can use a wet erase marker to mark off the any that i may be out of. Oh, and i had one more question. If you were doing PPF, would you, personally, charge more for a glitter tat than a face? Thanks again Lisa! You're incredibly helpful!!
I'm glad you made this vid. I just got my kit today and it has no instructions. I mean, it's not that difficult, but you walking thru it is so helpful. Also, how do you display the choices since it doesn't come with a sample card? Thanks again!
@havasmama For large, pay per face events, I would suggest making large boards with all of the choices (unfortunately, you have to use a set of stencils to do that). For parties, I just have one bag full of girl designs and one bag full of boy designs. I have the kids look through the bags and pick the stencils they want. If you end up doing lots of glitter tattoos, you may want to look into getting a file system or folder to put them in instead of bags.
I used this today at an Autism Awareness event and the kids loved it!! I was wondering though.....How do you do this without having glitter everywhere??? Especially when I do the upper arm....it just goes everywhere! It was a warm day today in Florida and when the kids started getting sweaty, it was impossible to clean it off around the tattoo.
**Thanks so much for all of these awesome videos. =o)
@durchtj I'm so glad the kids enjoyed the tattoos! Unfortunately, there's really no way to keep the glitter from getting everywhere. I always warn the parents or event planners about the glitter before a contract is written. If the child is sweaty, you may want to try drying the arm before you put on the tattoo, or you can try using a wipe to remove excess glitter.
Hi Lisa! I was wondering how much this kit costs? And also, if there is some hair on somebody's arm, do you suggest doing the tattoo on the side of the arm that doesn't have hair because it looks like it would be painful to get off? Thank you very much.
@animythfameEm I'm not sure on the exact cost, but you can find the kit on the DFX website (listed in the bottom bar). I've never had a problem doing the tattoos on children, but if you're doing one on an adult who's hairy, I would suggest doing the tattoo on the underside of the arm or in a less hairy part of the body. The hair makes the tattoo painful to do, it won't look as clean, and it won't last as long.
Hi Lisa - I find that removing the stencil AFTER you have put the glue on but before you put the glitter on uses less glitter and less likely to pull glitter off the design x BUT it can be harder to see the design - until you've practised a bit ;D x also - catch spare glitter underneath in an airtight container for a multi-col look - which if the kiddies cannot decide what col they want - gets rid of all your excess x x
I am considering adding glitter tattoos to my fp biz. The jars of glitter look really small. How long do they last? I do events that have 100-300 participants and I want to add the glitter tattoos for my 12 yr old to do at these huge events while I face paint. But I wouldn't want to run out of glitter in the middle of the event. What has your experience been with the longevity of the glitter?
@boydsixpack The jars are small, but they're packed to the brim and actually last for quite awhile. If I were you, I would probably start with the kit and see how it works for your first event. If you find that you run out of certain colors, you can order larger sizes of the most popular colors to use as backups for your next event.
@remodelmom You can use the same glitters you use for face painting as long as they're OPAQUE. It's very important that you don't use iridescent t glitters because they won't show up well enough.
Now how are you going to keep your daughter from using them all up?! My 6 year old daughter would have them all over her body, all over her little brother and the supplies would be completely gone in a matter of days maybe hours. If she could do it herself, Lord help me! LOL!
@iamginaw Believe me, I have to keep them very well hidden so that she doesn't go through the whole kit in a matter of minutes! :) I only let her do one or two at a time and I don't let her use more than four glitters (that way there's not a huge mess)
so sweet that you included your daughter! every time i pull out my paints, my kids want to paint too. i love it that they could do this. (they are 5 & 7). i got some supplies for airbrush tats, but i think it's just too much for me, wanting to have a do-business-when-i-want kind of schedule.
anyway, i was wondering where you got your kit and which specific kit you got. i checked WOW Factor and they have lots of Glimmer kits. i didn't find specific DiamondFX.
@poppyasher Yes, it's safe, but I don't recommend putting them on the face. They're EXTREMELY hard to remove because they're meant to last a long time (they usually last around a week, and at the end of the week you have to scrub what's left of the tattoo off with alcohol)
A while back you did a video asking if we would like to see a tour of your house or videos on decorating projects/ideas....I would love to see videos like that from you. From what I have seen in your videos we have very similar style and would love to see what you have to share on decorating. Just an idea:) Thanks for all of your tutorials!
@lorifast Yes! I need to do a decorating video so badly! I keep meaning to do it, then it just never happens. I'll try to do one sometime this month :)
I love these they are very pretty, my nephew would freak if i brought this to a party :) p.s. how are you feeling? hows the pregnany going? great i hope! we are almost 17 weeks along ourselves and cant wait to find out the sex of the baby!
@lovecanbemagic The pregnancy is great! I'm 14 weeks now, and in two weeks we're going to go do a 3D ultrasound to find out the sex! Can't wait! You'll have to let me know what you're having when you find out :)
@lisajoyyoung well i make pregnancy videos. im not sure if you are subbed to me or not! but i will be announcing it in a video when we do find out in a couple weeks :)
@daria81makeup Depending how how well you take care of it, the tattoo will last anywhere from 3 days to a week. Residue from the tattoo will last up to 2 weeks, so you'll want to clean the glue off with alcohol when the tattoo looks worn.
@crisplizz If it's a more intricate tattoo, no, but if it's a simple tattoo (like the star one I did), then you can use it up to 3 times. The third time you use it, it won't be very sticky, so you might need to hold it a little with your fingers while you put the glue on. I probably wouldn't use them multiple times on clients (because the stencil looks dirty once it's used), but you can take them home and use them on your kids or their friends.

If you saturate the glitter with baby oil, sunscreen or Skin So Soft (avon), you can easily rub the "tattoo" off.
