The reeds are made of small lengths of straws, the ends of which are pressed flat to function as double reeds. Both chanter and drone reeds are made in this way.
Several people have asked me for instructions. Kind of you to be interested. Although it looks simple to make, it really isn't and it requires a fair amount of skill to make these highly unsuitable materials function in this co-ordinated way!
I have attempted so many times doing these kind of reeds your talking about. But, you did something I could only dream of accomplishing! Really amazing!
