  • lol this is hard, but i'll have to go with kool g

  • Kool g rap is maybe the best lyracist of all time. Even better than Rakim.

  • @scientific1982 whats his best songs

  • @InfamousAct On the run, real life, ill street blues, fast life, etc.

  • I still got a lot of respect for G RAP though

  • Thats a hard one,but I gatta go with KRS.He took on the juice crew by himself,

  • krs wins this. but they use the wrong krs one songs for the battle

  • Top 5 imo

    1. KGR

    2. BDK

    3. Big L

    4. Big Pun

    5. Cormega (yes suck a dick fucking haters)

  • G. RAP all day every day... KOOL G RAP is way better than KRIS!!!

    1. RAKIM

    2. BIG DADDY KANE

    3. KOOL G RAP

  • I like KRS-One more

  • Kool G

  • judging from his character , body of work , cultural worldwide impact and what he still is to Hip Hop today- KRS 1 - The Teacher ....Still # 1

  • Comment removed

  • KRS-One

  • KRS-ONE TEARS EVERYBODY A NEW HOLE..AND G RAP NEVER WENT GOLD EVEN..

  • @2020TYBO how you gonna use the commersial argument?

  • @strongf ..TRUE..NOT NECESSARY..

  • KRS-ONE TEARS EVERYBODY A NEW HOLE..

  • Funny that Road to the Riches and Blackman in Effect both have the same core beat. Both songs hit hard from two totally different angles. Road to the Riches in 89 then Edutainment in 90. I think Edutainment was overall the better album.

  • two of my faves, but kgr is the better rhymer. and its not even close. by miles. miiiiiles. his lyrics are crazy nice. nicer than pun.

  • stop making it a contest between these emcees... they each doing their own shit, you cant even put em up against each other like that...

  • Both top 5 dead or alive.. I prefer G Rap tbh but.. Fuck nvm they both great no point in arguing whose better

  • if u like mafioso rap, then u gotta like KGR.

if u like deep lyrics, then u gotta like KRS.

PERSONALLY i like KGR, but they both could dominates today's rap.

    one love.

  • @tkwk1433 well said homie

  • @tkwk1433 Agree that both would dominate todays . Most of the "big shots" are only re-mixing old songs , slapping the name on it and all of a sudden its the new thing. But overall its even more simple than a mafioso/political style. Its rap when it was about life, fun, meaningfull. wasn't any heartache about this that .

I would rather compare U.T.F.O wth 2 live crew... J/K Cool G Rap over The Professor

  • I would say KGR is a better rapper because he is definitely technically better than KRS however Krs is a better MC because he helped move rap along a lot more and as Ra said MC means Move the Crowd.

  • Kool G Rap doesn't have the ability to kick knowledge like KRS. Like You Must Learn, and My Philosophy and Why Is That. That's why I have to go with KRS. KRS moved hip hop in a positive direction and it's hard to make education sound hard. I mean KRS was talking about eating healthy and all that back in 88. Kool G definitely had the harder style and better flow though. But he was negative 90% of the time. A few positive songs here and there.

  • @jasonito23 lol dont forget church this sunday at 8 am followed by breakfast of your choice courtesy of grandma

  • @cabbycabbycabby Doesn't warrant a response but "What is your point?"

  • its really apples and oranges at the end of the day.

I believe Kool G Rap does have more quality "records"

KRS overall has many styles of flow, concepts, and etc.

  • Tough decision! I don't know if i could even decide this

  • I'm going to use your fuckedd up inaccurate logic. Kool G Rap being negative doesn't make him the best. Sounding the same on every song does make him the best though. So does never stepping outside of the same tired lane. Fuck outta here cornball. It's obvious you've never listened to much KRS, he's by far the most complex lyricists in Hip Hop's history thus far. Get off Kool G Rap's ABC 123 rhyming ass nigga, it's a bad look. Step your shit up, you're not making any fucking sense.

  • Comment removed

  • @RelaxednCaIm :D, I see you on every video. I agree G Rap is better, but I haven't heard enough KRS...

  • Tony Touch Class of 87 he got shitted on by KRS again and by BDK. ahahaha G rap stay losing and getting shitted on by the better rappers of his era just like back in the day, some things never change. I'm still waiting for those 10 dope lines from G rap. ahahahaha Nigga ain't had 10 dope lines his whole career. You're done, next!

  • Comment removed

  • @DownloadDoctor1

btw, kool g rap got krs one on the 2000 remake.

  • KRS also shitted on him every other time they were on the same track, so what the fuck are you talking about dumbass? Give you a KRS verse, fuck outta here, he already shitted on G rap on the same track multiple times. G Rap is exactly what's wrong with Hip Hop now, he has one fake lane he stays in all the time, materialism, guns, drugs, streets, the end. ...one dimensional faggot with the same flow on ever fucking verse he ever spit. ahahahah The Anthem, just about everyone shit on G again.

  • Kool G Rap has no real fans, a couple of stupid faggots riding his dick. Nigga never came up in discussions about the illest back in the day. Now that the crack babies are all grown up they're cosigning his garbage ass. lmfao Simple ass lyrics. smh And, that black and white love song he did with Kane and Biz was the gayest rap I've ever heard, niggas were some straight herbs. Reference 10 hot G rap lines, can you? Nope, nigga was garbage, forced multies don't make you dope, fuck outta here.

  • @DownloadDoctor1 the fuck you on about?

listen to on the run by kool g rap.....that song alone proves he is one of the best mc's in the game

  • @DownloadDoctor1 you are one silly mother.

  • @DownloadDoctor1

give me a krs 1 verse and i'll destroy it with a kool g verse. infact...

kool g rap on allie meta forces >>>> any krs lyrical performance. how are his multies forced when he has one of the sickest flows? saying positive things in a simple way doesn't make you good.

  • @RelaxednCaIm lmfao You mean those weak ass verses where Kool G reused cabbage? smmfh Step your game up as he should have done with his. He's always spitting that fake gangster shits. smh irl nigga is a pussy. When they redid the Symphony everyone on the track shitted on G Rap, his verse was garbage as fuck. KRS>=Pun>Truck Turner> Kool G. How the fuck you gonna let a bunch of niggas smash you on the only track you're known for. They all absolutely murder him, G Rap is pathetic. ahahahaha

  • @DownloadDoctor1 "I'll Leave your whole body twisted when you get lifted, and police'll have to fish it, run ballistics on a biscuit another statistic, I tried to chill but you insist it, Coming all in my district, I dunno why the fuck you risked it!!!!"

"Fresh out the slammer with the fame and glamour, cooking up grams of arm and hammer supplying scramblers in Alabama"

"This stainless biscuit will leave your frame broken and clothes soaken, head blown THE FUCK OPEN!"

    Shall I continue?

  • @cormegaful

i don't even know why you bothered with the DownloadDoctor. from his comments he's obviously krs stan.

  • @RelaxednCaIm Yeah for sure, noticed his 12 opinion essays.... :D

  • @cormegaful Garbage lines nigga. lmfao You still have 0 hot G Rap lines posted. Keep digging cornball ass nigga. G Rap is trash with his 123/ABC bullshit. smmfh

  • @DownloadDoctor1 Thats your opinion stan. Why don't you post some KRS lines so we can compare them.

  • @cormegaful I'm not beefin but I got a KRS line from My Philosophy that is pretty legendary:

When some clown jumps up to get beat down.

Broken down to his very last compound.

see how it sound, a little unrational

A lot of MC's like to use the word dramatical.

    Fresh for 88 you SUCKAAAAS!

I think G Rap didn't come out till 89 - I mean big with "Road to the Riches" I was hooked on that cut as well.

Pull up Criminal Minded 2008. He came hard on that!

  • @jasonito23 G Rap was out in 86, type in Kool G Rap/Dj Polo 86 freestyle. Yeah, his first album was released in 89.

  • @DownloadDoctor1 Like the nigga said at the end of the video "Lets be realistic" and your ass aint being realistic at all kris stan fan boy. I'm still waiting on those KRS one lines that are apparently way better. LMAO! you still have 0 hot KRS lines posted. KRS has had some whack shit while I've never heard a whack verse by G Rap, step off kris' dick bro.

  • Kool G Rap overall, he's more lyrically skilled than Krs with more memorable punchlines, The Symphony is perhaps the hottest verse ever! But if it comes to a battle KRS- One is unbeatable!!

  • Comment removed

  • krs one ended careers ! but i cant lie kool g rap had that fierce feeling in his lyrics !

  • @DownloadDoctor1 get of KRS' dick

  • I'm not even going to get into all of KRS ONE's story raps and conscious or political songs. There's just too many and 95% of them as well as all of the battle songs shit on everything G Rap has ever done combined, on their own. Y'all niggas are some lame cornball skinny Jeans wearing faggot generation punks. Same type of niggas always screaming Biggie and Pac's name, those niggas were wack as fuck too, commercial simpleton faggots. smh

  • @DownloadDoctor1

kool g rap would lyrically destroy kris. road to riches is better than criminally minded. 456 and root of evil are better than any kris album, production wise and beats. kris's story raps were simple and undetailed. and he's never gone off for 2 minutes straight like G did on "men at work". kris is overrated. rakim and kane are better too.

  • Goddamn KRS ONE's battle catalog is so epic his song titles alone at random read back like a diss to wack rappers.

    Continued

Victory, The French Connection, Bronx Tale, No Gimmicks, Brainstorm, Represent The Real, Station Identification, Conscious Style, Blade, Drop it Heavy, Symphony 2000, Criminal Minded 2008, Criminal Minded, Going Way Back, Feel the Vibe, Ain't The Same, Gun "Em Down, Ya Feel Dat, You Don't Really Want it, etc... KRS One shits all over G Rap.

  • KRS ONE battle rap style songs Build Ya Skillz MCs Act Like They Don't Know South Bronx The Bridge is Over Wannabemceez De Automatic Ova Here Build and Destroy Mad Crew Mortal Thought Ya Slippin I'm Still Number 1 Slap Them Up Stop Frontin Robot Clean Up Crew Oh Really Murda Ya Like a Throttle Ruff Ruff We In There Duck Down Ya Know the Rules Original Lyrics The Kenny Parker Show Hot The MC Step into a World Hush Rappers R. N. Danger Double Trouble Clear "Em Out I Get Wrecked Rough
  • G Rap is one of the most overrated rappers ever. In fact, he's pretty much garbage outside of less than a handful of songs. It's like niggas think it's cool to try to boost him much higher than he ever should have been. He's not even a top 100 rapper all time. Where are all the dope lyrics people are talking about him having at? I've heard all his early shit up to 2000's. All his albums are trash with one or two decent songs. KRS would smash G Rap off the pages of hip hop history completely.

  • KOOL G RAP got that title. No disrespect to KRS but, the most dopest lines, brilliant metaphors, strongest punch lines and many, many style flips were done by KGR! Also did I forget to mention... Kool G Rap fathered the style that was admired and has inspired many successful rappers who step in the game and looked up to him. To name a few... Nas, Big Pun (RIP), MOP, Mobb Deep and a lot more.

  • No disrepect to Kool G Rap who is tbr greatest lyricist in my book. But KRS One would wipe Kool G off the face of the earth.

  • You can't judge from past songs. KRS ONE loves to battle and he never backs down from a battle. He never lost a battle. Does Kool G have any dis raps. I gotta look now.

  • @jasonito23 Does Kool G have any diss "raps"? lol ... im gonna send you something just on gp

  • @BillyKnockout thanks for that five minutes of death. Those were the realest days of hip hop. They were trying to be the illest instead of platinum.

  • @jasonito23 Thats wassup Jasonito , no problem !

  • G Rap> KRS One

  • KRS is a respected philosopher of hip-hop...but all his tracks are about hip-hop...he don't have half da versatility and storytellin' skill of KGR...you can't really hate on either cause they both legendz...but my nigga G Rap is in my opinion da greatest rapper ever...dead or alive...he ridez a beat da way nobody else can...not KRS...not even Rakim...holla...

  • @MistaWordz took it too far wit that rakim statement.....

  • @caspercoven

no...I don't think Rakim is on G Rap level...he'z up there though...

  • they are both awesome but ill have to go with krs...he gots to be the best freestyler ever...respekt to krs and g rap

  • I listen them both, but KRS is brain!

  • G Rap all day!

  • krs one i like better

dont know why but i never really got into kool g rap like that . he is cool tho

  • The bridge is over!!!! Luv G.Rap but KRS is the clear winner everyday! KRS ate the whole Juice Crew back in the day!

  • I think KRS would acknowledge that Kool G Rap is an better Lyricist. so it would be all respect

  • Kool G Rap Easily for me dude has one of the best flows of all time, and his story telling is amazing. Majority of this dude's discography is amazing. Krs One has alot of wack releases, and doesn't nearly have enough technical skill to hang with G Rap.

  • THE TEACHER KRS 1

  • kool g

  • I personally like KRS a little better

  • Kool G Rap by far. KRS-One is overrated

  • Fuck this, they're both ill, and who I consider better between the two will change depending on the day.

  • g rap all day, fuck krs he on ll cool js dick and he fake as hell

  • That's comparing apples and oranges. That's like comparing Common to 50 Cent????? "It's not the mic it's the mind they speak through."

  • you must be on crack if you think g-rap murders kris g-rap is nice but kris is more versitale he drops knowledge and gets gansta god i still like g- rap but krsone is ill with the off the head freestyle boy you must be from queens

  • G Rap without a doubt

  • Comment removed

  • Both are legends but as the best MC KRS One. G Rap was an ill story teller and murdering MC but his delivery was what? The same. KRS has many different delivery styles and much more body of work. But I love them both for what they've done for my love of Hip Hop

  • How long ago was this?

They need to interview the Rap Heavyweights of today.

  • @Undiabolical nah lol, theyll get the wrong idea and put lil wayne up against 50 cent and debate on who sold the most records ...

  • @chiibiROXAS Yea mTV would do that.

But I meant the interviewer should be interviewing the Rap Heavyweights of today and ask their opinion on who the better rapper was/is between G Rap & KRS.

  • to even consider KRS as a competitor to GRAP makes KRS One DOPE Rapper!! GRAP is better by far but he just captures your attention. Kinda like biggie did.

  • Kool G RAP :D

  • G rap hands down. Flow, lyrics, beats list goes on. Plus i happen to like Gangsta shit. All u G Rap fans. check Out "Ready 4 War" by BLACK ASSASSINZ.

  • kool g rap is way better than krsone

  • KRS 1 is a Hip Hop teacher. G Rap is a street-life teacher. Both could rap for days. Neither is better than the other, just different, and both the best at what they represent in hip hop.

  • krs one wins this.

  • shiiit both to good..both legends of the game..think KOOL G would take the battle but i personally like KRS better

  • Both Top 5 But I Prefer KRS Slightly Because I Care About What The Lyrics Say To The Listener

I Wanna See Rakim vs G Rap That's A Badass Battle

  • krs made kool gs styles in the 90 krs started crime rap lyterally he was the first to rap about crime

  • yea yall niggas trippin kool g takes this

  • Would you rather have peperoni OR sausage pizza? Can't go wrong either way. In this debate, I'll go with the Blastmaster, KRS-ONE. Although, he's a vegetarian and can't have a slice of either. ha

  • people talk about krs's content and him being a teacher, and thats good, but skill wize g -rap kills him. kris could keep with g rap on men at work?

  • Kool G Rap over KRS- One anyday

  • GGGGGGGGGGGGGG RAAAAAAAAAP

    ALL dayyyyy

  • 3:45 ...what song is that?

  • "My Life" by Kool G Rap

  • KRS is more significant in rap, I don't think that's disputable. He's a living representation of rap in its finest era. Not just the music, but the breaking, graffiti, DJing, beatboxing, etc... As much as I love G Rap, he doesn't quite have that. Lyrically, G Rap has it with his clever lines, but KRS represents all elements of Hip Hop at its absolute best.

KRS, G Rap, Rakim, and Kane... ALL top tier MCs.

  • @cityratt yea but kool g rap is a reflection of what hip hop is now and has been for sum time now...cause he influenced greatly!

  • @cityratt He's a living representation of rap in it's finest era? That would be true if it was still the 80's, now he's just as wack as the next guy. His new music is SHIT.

  • I love Kool G Rap more but KRS was more subject wise. He was all about teaching while KGR mostly had his killing fantasies which I love listening to specially when I'm in the mood for pissing off someone.

I rate KRS higher in my list for his dedication to hip hop as well but both are in my top 5.

  • krs the best no question......

  • na i'll question that, Kool g rap would wax krs on the fly

  • Comment removed

  • Kool g rap kill that KRS Bum Kriss couldnt rip lines even if it was helf way rip LOL

  • To each it's own !!!

    My opinion don't change .

  • well your opinion will stay wrong LOL

  • Kool g rap all day!

  • and you know this mannn!!!!!!!!!!

  • KRS "1" AND YOU KNOW IT

  • I think KRS would win in a battle but Overall, I don't know.

  • @KoolDa1 not really

  • To each it's own !!

  • kool g rap all day

  • krs all day

  • Yeah it depends on my mood, I cannot put anyone above Kool G RAP, he is just too dam good.combinations, lyrics etc.How can anyone be better?

  • shit depends on my mood

both artists are pioneers and bring real hip hop

  • No one can match KGR's word play. His rhymes, word play, flow, and delivery is just perfect.

  • Personally, I like Kool G Rap much more. I have listened to both of these rappers for over 20 years now and both of them are brilliant in completely different ways.

KRS One's a intelligent person and has a lot of important things to say, which I have always respected and probably, more of us can relate to what he's speaking of.

But Kool G Rap just presents his shit in a way that I cannot ignore. seriously, Kool G Rap is one of the all time best gangsta rappers.

  • krs is the best. he has battled or offered to battle every one of that time. from mc. shan to kool moe d, to LL.

  • hmmmm i like krs more but g rap is just as ill no doubt,,, been around since the start and all but i like mr potato :D WHOOP WHOOP

  • Comment removed

  • i like krs one a bit more cause hes not on that gangsta shit g rap is.he a teacha, and of course if u doubt about his battle abilities go ask mc shan.hes my #1!g rap is my #3.

  • G Rap!

  • ther both even, but at there own levels!

krs with the over all knowledge

    kgR with the mafioso steeoowlll

    yo yo sup

  • kool g rap all the way motherfuckers!

  • Back in the day nobody wanted to battle KRSONE...not only could he kick knowledge but his skill level was that of nobody else...I love g rap, kane, and Rakim but KRSONE was way ahead of his time. The song "My philosophy" predicted even in 1988 where hiphop was gonna go and he was right. The state of hiphop is in a crisis and he saw it coming...Nuff Respect to tha teacha and still doin it at 44 years of age

  • KRS 1 ALL DAY JAY !! yeah both legends!

  • kool g all day krs is good but kool g beter

  • G Rap all day.

    G Rap>> KRS & Rakim

  • Kool G rap + Krs both legends...Rakim the best to ever touch a mic IMO.....

  • Rakim was nice but he wasn't a battle rapper...I'm sure he could battle but that wasn't his thing

  • they both are two of the originators of real hip hop. Knowledge Reign Supreme is sick no doubt, but IN MY OPINION, Kool G Rap's flows are nicer over all. Its all a matter of opinion tho. Old school is better than all this radio rap bullshit comin out these days. forreal

  • I like KRS better

  • kool G better than KRS but big daddy kane is the best of all.

  • Rakim Dude.....

  • I love big daddy Kane but no one was fuckin wit KRSONE. KRSONE was the most feared emcee during the golden era period!!!!!!

  • @MrMorningside125 Listen to "men at work" by kool g rap and tell me if you still think g rap can be fucked with.

  • @romainelettuce2 Fucking word up!

  • kool g rap

  • krs 1 all day...yaheardme

  • krs 1

  • Krs is real nice, but hes too arrogant for me.

    Kool g rap!

  • KRS.

  • G Rap would murder KRS one on wax, lyrically and flow just 2 much! On stage KRS 1 may be the greatest.

  • they both have a dft style krs iz more political and koolg iz gritty ghetto gangsta type of rhymes but who u can compare 2 kool g. rap iz just-ice now those 2 u can ask yaself whos better . the 2 original gangstaz of rap

  • krs's lyrics are deeper and his stuff is classic but g rap's flow is amazing and for me thats more important so g rap!

  • my pic is g rap

  • KR plus S equals 1111111111

  • 2 of the greatest, but i gotta go with kris cause hes my fav rapper.

  • krs 11111111111111111111111111 rules

  • masters of both there styles ...cant compare tha 2

  • Krs is better tho kool G aint far behind, no doubt

  • KRS way ebtter

  • G-Rap is tight, but he's rhyme style; a rhymes wit b, b rhmyes with c.

KRS is ther creator of the 16 bar rhyme style, the style all "great" emcee's are measured by.

  • it depends on the type of fan of hip hop you are.

lyrically, the skill of making words rhyme.. its g rap hands down.

but krs-one drops more science on the mic. Which i why i say it depends on the hip hop fan.

personally i've heard more g rap because he got less albums and but krs has got just as many classics so you cant go wrong either way.

  • hmmmmm well kris is more of a conscious MC I'll admit he doesn't have that much of a flow no offence and yes he is one of my favorites but kool g has a flow

both of them are nice and i respect em both

  • different styles

kool g rap was the most skillful emcee around the golden age. krs never had anywhere near the same ability to flow fast past lyrics. his talent was speaking loud and clear about key topics and issues. schoolin people n shit.

  • My pick is "KRS-One". I got respect for both though, Thats 2 names in Hip Hop I will never forget. I mean when you think of the word Hip Hop those 2 have got to be, if not the first, some of the first names that come to mind.

  • what is the name of the song played at the intro ? is it just mixed or is it downloadeble ?

  • krssssssssssssssssss 111111111111111111111111 the goat baby

  • they have very different styles kool g rap is the original gangsta hardcore rapper krs one is more like calling out the flaws in society and in other mc's

but i think kool g rap is better but i just love his type of music thats why

  • its hard for me to say this; but personally im feelin that g rap. But krs 1 is still a fuckin legend

  • Both are legends for sure, but "4,5,6" is one of my favorite albums ever, I'd have to go with G Rap if I had to chose.

  • greatest x rated track on wax is still G-rap's "talk like sex",talk about "bad to the bone"

  • don't forget guys so called "modern" rap flow style now that WuTang,Nas,even Jay Z and others was started by G-Rap,Rakim as well but definately G rap created the "modern" NYC rhyming flow.

Without a doubt G Raps greatest work is his second album with Dj Polo "Wanted dead or alive" . After "Men at Work" off his first album-then cats started REALLY hearing his rhyme flow style.

    If you don't have G-raps 2nd album you DON'T know G-rap -period.
