@quelorepario Wow, thanks for the info, I think you're correct. I think that I have been misdiagnosed. I was on medication for a year, and it did nothing but make me lose 15 pounds.
@MasterxKenobi Actually, I am. I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in kindergarten. I began reading at age two without being taught. Still wanna make this silly argument?
@XdisXesXwhyXimXhawtX That's a booooooooshit. Harry Potter doesn't even account for being a genius period. It'd probably make you less literate if anything. The size of the font in those books is like 5 words a page anyway. Read every biography of the forefathers at age two, then maybe I'd be impressed. But I'm not going to take your word, especially for when it's for a book that's not even impressive. Sorry, you're not a 'gifted'. You just know how to waste some time, brah.
@MasterxKenobi oh yeah, because every kindergardener can read at that level. -_- I read Les Misérables at 13, while my classmates were reading Twilight. Don't discredit me. I am also nearly fluent in french after one and a half years of school classes. I have a genius IQ. I've been bullied my whole life for being smart, and I really don't need crap from you. I also test in the top 0.1% of the nation in all test categories.
Giftedness has nothing to do with high IQs and genre preferences. In a nutshell is about being curious, creative, inquisitive, abstract thinker from a very young age. That's what asynchronous development is: when your mental age (intellectually) is way more developed than your emotional age. Reading a whole book in kinder is a sign of giftedness. Don't confuse giftedness with being a "genius", you can have an average or above average IQ and still be gifted.
I believe we all have the capacity of doing it, but we are interested on useless things.
I mean, don't you find amazing how these video game junkies remember all the cheat codes, maps, version modification, commands, tricks, etc? I just wonder how far would we reach with all that mind power was channeled to productive, creative and critical thinking.
@quelorepario Actually gifted people have a different way that our brains process thought. We can remember things after hearing them once, and fully understand them, etc... I am gifted but get bad grades because I have bad A.D.D., and my school moves far too slowly, so I can't pay attention because I'm so bored. :/
@XdisXesXwhyXimXhawtX You may not have ADD. If you are in the US you could have been misdiagnosed. ADD has very similar symptoms to giftedness, but there are KEY differences between them. Yes, both have trouble paying attention in class and might have mediocre grades, but the difference is that an people with ADD CAN'T concentrate at all to anything while gifted people CAN concentrate very deeply if the subject/activity is interesting. Also another key of gifted kids is asynchronous development.
hey dan, how are things going? it is crazy you saw the video. How did you come across it. If you liked it, i posted others under my user name msilva31. hope al is well

That's not very impressive.. It's just a memory test.. All kids can do this, most of them just spend time memorizing the barney theme song instead.
