  • ehh I thought it was pretty funny actually >.>

    R.I.P Syd & Rick

  • lol

  • Fucking ugly fat cunt. Inbred twat.

  • the unforgetable "porra louca" man !!!

  • If I could give this two thumbs up instead of one, I would

  • i think you should all stop tormenting this guy, it is all good taste and i think syd would find it hilarious anyway.

  • very funny - asshole

  • YOU GOT YOUR WISH.

  • Take this crap down

  • reminds me of some great times in high school I loved listening to this album (vinyl of course) while dropping into another world............

  • good job, Paul.

  • i think it's a great tribute Syd's thoughts about music. f*ck the industry and of course EMI (Lydon sang it many years ago...)

good job Paul, I totally share your opinion

  • It is obvious (may I say?) that the author of this parody is a big fan ot Syd's work. There are a lot of references of his songs: Interstellar overdrive (first riff), Astronomy domine (first part of the song), Take up thy stethoscope and walk (second part), One in a million (in the second part), Arnold Layne (organ solo in the second part) and Remember a day (the way slide guitar is used). Am I missing something? Would be glad to know.

    Nice work, Paul!

  • fuck this

  • Rather brilliant....you had me fooled for a few seconds there.

  • Now I know where THE Pink Floyd got their sound from, the plagiarists!

  • Ha! Excellent parody.

  • Ps- Have you met Bob Dobbs?

  • Arnold Layne is in bad taste as are Careful with that axe Eugene and 90% of The Wall. The list continues...grow a pair and get on with Rock and Roll. Myself, I think you might have creativity envy. Since when were you elected to tame rock?

  • Also, Paul, that shit is very funny, clever, and groovy. I am a big parody fan and work with an informal group called The Song Butcherers. We suck, but it keeps our minds off of crime.

  • Hey you shiftless haters, get an effing clue! Have you never seen Spinal Tap, or The Rutles. You remind me of what I like to call "Coolio" people. "Coolio" WAS a popular rap artist until Weird Al Yancovich covered "Gangstas Paradise" as "Amish Paradise". Coolio flipped and "demanded" the song be pulled for being disrespectfull, fully missing the point that being covered by Al is an honor, suggesting you have "arrived". Even heavily broadcast complaints brought no sympathy.Haters limit themselve

  • Paul you are an imbasil & idiot human

this isnt funny at all --- and all of us Syd (R.I.P) fans ARE going to beat you

(if we will find you of course )

  • @rakefetgal8383 Bring it on, gorgeous. xx

  • @pauldullson for me man you do a great job.this song is in barrett's climax.the second tune on whole youtube based on syd's climax that i like.if you ever see that comment i preffer you to see THORN'S APPLE-THE PIPER'S TUNE.THAT SONG IS IN SYD'S CLIMAX TOO.ALSO THE GUY SUNG THAT LIKE BARRETT.CHECK OUT.GREETINGS FROM POLAND :) SORRY FOR MISTAKES IF THEY ARE HERE ;)

  • @rakefetgal8383 Well, he's got a point, tho.

A commemorative PF remastered set for the benefit of Syd being dead whom they couldn't be arsed with when he was alive is a bit cheeky. Loosen up, funky bro. This old fan will not participate in you offer of a nice gang-bang on the bloke who uploaded this.

It's rather clever, actually. Me gusta.

  • Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I think Syd would have loved it :)

  • Well I thought it was cool.

  • THIS IS IN BAD TASTE: PLEASE TAKE IT DOWN. CHEERS!!!.

    Peace*

  • you fucking retard, you dont put this shit online, pink floyd is classic.

  • I thought this was funny.

  • Nice One!

  • dude that was awsome

  • I'm a big Floyd fan, and I laughed more than a chimp's penis at this! Lovely. yeah

  • fuck you jajaja

  • Brilliant, well executed parody. A lesser musician would have left out Beechwoods and One In A Million. Marvellous!

  • Top notch! You nailed it man :)

  • Oh yes, loved it;)) Viv Stanshall or C.P. Lee would be proud of doing this. Seems some folks sense of humour isn't really bizarre enough to get it yet.

  • Jeez-- The Steptoe & Son theme at the beginning--- if you know what I mean- heheh

  • I don't want to admit it, but I laughed pretty hard at this.

  • :)) good pink floydish sound

  • Shit samples! Funny idea. Sound quality appalling !

  • he weeo ta suaveeeeeeeee xDDDDDDDDDDD

  • this is way to short!

  • This is FUNNY...although I get your drift,It's only good that that this great music get's rereleased for people who weren't around the first time. Because if it hadn't, you'd have to dig REAL deeep, to get these sounds.I bought 'm all first time round ,so I have no guilt about downloading it for free.

  • SYD IS DEAD lol

  • what song is this music from???????

  • wish i could have met Syd, seems like it would have been a life altering experience

  • what song is this why can't i find it anywhere?

  • Last I recall, Syd Barrett was a human. Humans tend to have this strange thing called "a sense of humor" within them, as well as a part of their brain that tells them "Youtube videos aren't serious business and can therefore be humorous." This is mildly amusing, and Syd might have found it amusing himself. Have you met him? Do you know he would be insulted? Coming from a huge Pink Floyd fan/living Pink Floyd encyclopedia/open minded human being, I found this video enjoyable.

  • Syd should kill you bastard.

  • syd would of been insulted u fake

  • Alright Paul you big cynic

Do us a favour im genuinely interested in hearing some of your musical efforts put some up with your own ideas something original maybe that would be cool.

  • @RYANKOKO The Martin Scott-Tumbling videos on this page feature "original songs" I've written. There's also the Herd of Us songs here and on the MySpace page.

  • not cool

  • Oh get off your high horses~I laughed and Syd probably would have too because he obviously had a sense of humor.

  • this really good, coming from a Pink Floyd fanatic. I agree with all points raised. Susan Penhaligon, very funny. I'll check out the site. Thanks

  • BrokeChair 88 wrote "Argh!"

  • i wish i could find you and tell you to your ugly ass face how much a dumbass you are.

  • Brilliant!!!!! someone understands!!!!

  • syd per sempre

  • Love Syd, love the Floyd, but I laughed at this, obviously whoever made this video is a fan of Piper at the Gates of Dawn. RIP Syd.

  • Pink Floyd is my favourite though this is very funny XD

yes even a pink floyd fan can laugh about this and if you don't, get real.

  • little offensive but some good points!

  • "broke chair" wrote "pink floyd wrote "Dogs"!

  • @EndlessNot1 Argh!

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • Haha!! Very well done! I'm sure Syd would have appreciated the humor.

  • this is music

  • This is sweet!!! as much as of a die hard Floyd fan i am, this is fucking sweeeet!!!

  • fucking class m8!

  • coOL :)

  • what is this song?

  • That is actually a work of art..!

  • Comment removed

  • "Give us sucking sunshine!"

    Geez, you say that again.

  • FUCK ALL THAT WE GOTTA GET ON WITH THESE

  • Well it is true as hell. But who cares early floyd was the greatest s%^t ever.

  • Hilarious!

  • Soo f******* cool!!! Thanks!!

  • es la de arnold layne al reves?

  • Truly gourd-blowing...

  • love sid...peep "arnold lane" another acid filled gem!!

  • ahahaha.. i love pink floyd but this is great

  • Lighten up a bit, you sad cunt.

  • Thank you for demonstrating just how much of a retard you really are....no doubt a point well noted by other musicians like myself who just happen to be Floyd fans. Close the door on the way out you partially educated young fellow. LMAO at you.

  • dicks

  • this clip is uber shit

  • Screw you guys.

  • what is this?

  • The Dukes of Stratosphere?

  • why not?

  • haha what the fuck

  • Fuck this video

They put re-masters of albums out for people that want them, they aren't shoving it down your throat.

Quit complaining and actually make some effort to find bootlegs if you want different material!

  • i dont understand this

  • Its deep in meaning and very trippy it has another meaning if you were to try LSD, but it also happens to be awsome and clever music u can listen to on any other drug or even sober. Get it now?

  • reaction to another repackaged Floyd release that doesn't give the fan/collector anything new--just a grab for our money by the record execs.

  • that was great, fair play!

  • Great! LOL! But it's true, those bastards...

  • JUST HILARIOUS. very funny,.

syd is dead... internet... got no bread.... steal insead?¿?!

    jajja

    reealize.. realiiiiizzzeeee

  • The mono version is like a breath of fresh air compared to the butchered stereo version. And the 30th anniversary mono remaster sucked compared to the new 40th anniversary, so I don't see what this video's on about.

It's definitely worth getting. The third disc and packaging are also very worth it!

  • were they paying the piper for some mail sent, or something?--

  • Humph. This is equivalent to 'The Rutles', a pseudo band mock up of The Beatles.

  • ☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺♫☺

  • im trippin. try and watchthe jim morrison video wer its his 1968 miami concert. its got 9 parts to it. its good

  • great rmix of the gems... great great lyrics... i love you man!

  • that was cool

  • ummm..nahh, nada como syd y los floyds, esa no s la manera de hacerles tributo..bastard..

  • wow this was really good, it got Floyd's spirit, and lyrics are funny.

  • Very catchy, I did not know it was until they talked about the three-disk-set thing lol.

  • Fair enough point - when are we going to get the REAL treasures ?! Not badly done too. And I am a HUGE early 'Floyd fan... not sure why some have taken it so badly..... ah well

  • --DUMB--

i wouldnt help you out of a fire because i Am a pink floyd fan

  • that's someone with even more time to waste than the rest of us losers wasting our time on youtube instead of actually doing something with our lives. I mean that is far out

  • lmao...just saw cosmic castles comment,,best comment evr!!!!

  • Love it! Brilliant. =-) Thanks for this. xx

  • Well listen to Can if you dont like em.

  • taken far too seriously. im a massive floyd fan, but i dont see anything disrespectful about this. lighten up. its actually quite cleverly done. nice one

  • bitch

  • I think you are trying to convince someone, but you don´t convince me

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha sorry im not laughing at this disrespectful video i just had an image of the creator of the video burning to death while screaming "help me help me" which no one did because they were all pink floyd fans...fuckin knob!!!!

  • Well, that's the odd thing about humour - it's subjective. Some people enjoy irreverent pop parodies (eg Syd Barrett's own 'Bob Dylan Blues' which 'disrespectfully' lays into the Zim's ability to sing heartfelt protest songs while simultaneously counting all the money he's earned from doing so).

Other people prefer to laugh about such irreverent piss-takers dying horribly in fire-related accidents. (There's a nice Viv Stanshall clip up here actually. Should give you a right old stiffy.)

  • @PeterDrucock Where have I 'compared myself' to Syd Barrett? It's a parody.

  • @pauldullson it's a parody and a stab at the money grubbing members of Pink Floyd, not at Syd. Paul you really are a bit dull son if you can't see that. Don't take life so seriously would be my advice, son.

  • @PeterDrucock Who the fock are you, to complain,if you yourself can't even make the effort to spell Barrett's name with capital letters ? "Disrespectful" Dick.....;]

  • @PeterDrucock: boooooo!!!

  • This song stinks and your an idiot for wasting my time like this.

  • Comment removed

  • lol

  • whose lol?

  • cha ching!

  • It's been way too long since I've seen those psychedelic colour combinations in my life. Thanks for taking me back!

  • Ha ha, beautiful ! That's great ! .....I've been a massive Barrett fan since 1974 ..and that really hit the spot !

  • Why is a repackage a bad thing? No one who has the album will buy it, but those who don't get a good deal.

  • This is tasteless, Are you bashing the floyd for releasing the anniversary deluxe edition of piper? Its not clear. And the Syd is dead bit is simply disrespectful, I don't find this humorous at all you silly cunt.

  • clever.... but slightly insulting. ok... really insulting.

    damn you!

  • Absolutely brilliant ! I particularly like the 'Steptoe & Son' intro. Brings back many happy memories and is so cleverly done.

  • Very clever indeed. And they are absolutely right...

  • i liked the song.

  • Thought it was Astronomy Domine in the beginning, but it's just a spoof. Lol!

  • well done!!! the whole floyd repackaging is such a waste... release some good old shit!

  • that was the nuts........good job

    xxx

  • haha!

Aw man, this is absolute flippin genius

  • SYD was a true genius...

  • wow good job

  • whats the name of this song?

  • astronomy domine:

    watch?v=ts-2lg5fpQ4

at 1:16 the music changes to bike:

    watch?v=91c8S9OobCw&feature=related

  • Megaphones and beeps - apes the beginning of 'Astronomy Domine'

Opening guitar riff = 'Steptoe and Son' theme in the style of 'Interstellar Overdrive' (Barrett was purportedly accused of basing the latter on the former)

"Floating through the air..." section - pastiche of 'Astronomy Domine' (albeit with different chords/melody)

"Repackaged as a three-disc set..." section = pastiche of 'Lucifer Sam' ("That cat's something I can't explain")

  • Middle section emulates stuff from all over the place:

'Take Up Thy Stethoscope & Walk' ("Syd is dead, I'm in debt..." vocals)

'Pow R Toc H' (percussive mouth sounds - "Ba-boom-pa-ch-chhh", etc)

'Arnold Layne' / 'See Emily Play' / 'Matilda Mother' / etc (that Rick Wright organ lick)

'One In A Million' ("...charging a million" - ref to an unreleased track for the diehard SydFloyd fans to enjoy).

Final section = 'Bike' (with a bit of 'Scarecrow'-type percussion).

  • brilliant

  • hahaha!! very good!

  • Fucking brilliant!

  • nice

  • true and sad. money rule the world!

  • syds an untold legend.. if more people were like him then this world would be a MUCH better place

  • Syd is dead - I'm in debt - Genius !!!

  • Brill! Can't tell you how many reissues I've had to buy to get "new" mixes of '67 Floyd stuff!!

  • rip syd

  • LOL very clever!

  • Who made this? And the Rainbow one, really brilliant stuff. Whoever it is deserves a massive pat on the face.

  • Good Idea!!

  • Very amusing way to make a point. You have to realize there is only a finite amount of classic Floyd material around. Sure they could release the archives on a 4 disc set or whatever, but then what do we have to look forward to after that? At least if the rarities are trickled out with existing material it keeps the music "alive" especially for the younger crowd. Although there's the risk that we might not hear everything there is on our lifetime.

  • There's actually quite a few live recordings that could be released. There's a number of BBC recordings, for instance, as well as TV appearnaces from the early days.

If nothing else, they should release the two BBC concerts from 70 and 71. Those would make a really nice two CD set.

The BBC also recorded Dark Side Of The Moon, live in Lonndon in 74, which buries the Pulse version.

  • Begining of hot ?

  • Where is the song Millionaire!!!!!

  • very funny. I like the steptoe bit at the beginning. A tad too much effort tho me thinks. Go to the shop and buy a loaf of bread. Help brake the day up a bit

  • Pure genius.

    Kudos!

  • ABSOLUTELY GREAT!

  • Sad but true. It is already not a very long period and the only thing EMI does is release material which was already released...

  • Though is someone being forced to buy a boxed set of Piper if they don't want to? No. In a world of very real issues to get worked up over, moaning over the option to buy that album is pretty lame.

  • Hell, it's on all the bit thingies for free... I mean really.

It is nice though. Scrape together the bread; it's worth it. The differnet mixes are neat.

(I just went and got it on record though... oh well, oop, ha.)

  • This is awesome -- and so true. When I heard about the box set release I thought it sounded really cool until I realized it was pretty much stuff already released, even the rarities. They should have added a "Beatles-Anthology"-style disc with outtakes, alternate takes, demos, etc.

  • LOL! Funny!

  • Not bad.

  • THAT IS THE BEST PINK FLOYD SONG EVER!!!! ZOMGGGG

    Haha. I'm not THAT dumb.

    Very nice!

  • do you have the full song
