@rgeneration is anything legal in the UK? if it has a petrol engine its gotta be road legal. to get round this im installing my engine on the back of the bike and covering it up. god knows what ill do about the sound tho. it could be a massive give away lol.
I want to build one of these on an old beach cruiser, making rat bike like. BUT, Does anyone have any ideas how to not have to pedal to start it? I want to make fixed pegs at the bottom bracket. I was thinking a crank starter would be awesome, like the old ford model t's and a's.
@fxdrdnme u would need to use a pull start type motor to forgo the pedals, also u might want to check local laws on pedal assist bike as opposed to non pedal assist there may be issues with local law enforcement on that matter.....
I just put a dual start from boygofast in a Huffy bike and of course, the pedals hit so I had to heat and bend the arms out in a jog but other than that, it was a six hour pain in my ass to finish. The 16 to 1 mix for the brake in period is taking a long time run thru but it is kind of a thrill to zoom around on. I'm also surprised at the torque and top in. I'm 60 but still love doing this shit. Good job man, I learned alot with my first one. I think I'll do it again on a mountain bike. A+
Now I thought that these were made for V-framed bikes so you did not have to modify it. I have one on A beach cruiser that I put together about 4 years ago. I had to make A bracket but my friend just did one that he just used A spacer on the rear to push the engine foward and it works great. No holes in frame or welds.
why not use original sprocket with gears in case you wont more power to go up hill or haul around a fat woman in a little red wagon?seriously though why not.
Mortorized bicycles are a 1000 times better than stupid gay electric bikes.

CRITICAL QUESTION HERE:
That sprocket wheel attached to the spokes, does it bend them over time? Do the spokes take in any damage because of that?

sillygrouse 3 years ago
Ya it took the top speed up about 5mph and on normal take-off you can spin the tires and do wheelies.
zachshop1024 3 years ago
nice, i might do that but is it too loud?
sillygrouse 3 years ago
It is very loud, but it sounds cool, look at my videos I have some up of the bike.

Most of these just add a second drive chain, without taking off the original.
See ebay BIKE MOTOR KIT.
A guy on Maui seems very happy with his.
130mpg and up to 35mph.
-Not sure what size motor he bought.
bubblerings 3 years ago
with the ebay kit, do you really need to weld on a bracket mount?
azmoy 3 years ago
dont think so
coteya 3 years ago
only if the frame of the bike is too big for the original mounts...
