I had to give up watching "American Hotrod" when it was shown here in the U.K. Like them or not the guys actually building these cars were geniuses and were constantly hounded by the non-productive Boyd and his Workshop Manager. Went to a "Tin and Tats" meet in June in Long Beach Ca. and the best car by far was a chopped and channeled 3 window (ratrod) coupe that was built on a budget had all its welds showing hardly any paint and was about as much fun as you could have without falling over!
Saying that one is glad that someone is dead is not cool, but Boyd, while an innovative designer, was a complete dick. I won't miss him a lick. Really, a total asshole. Could have not happened to a bigger asshole.

Like when Charlie was working 16 hour days, for weeks, to get that '32 Ford roadster ready for the anniversary ; he even tried to get Charlie to paint some cabinets because the guy in the office did not like the color! Also asking the people to stay late and work weekends but insist that they start on time every morning!
Not all of us in the car world will miss him. Duane had to go find a real job now. Most guys in the hot rod world have a little pride issue, but boyd had cornered the market.

Same, here been watching it every night on Quest, its almost as though I know the guys in the shop. I was wanting to send Boyd an e-mail and then stumbled across this on You Tube and had no idea whatsoever of his sad demise. Agree with TeddyboyNo.1 . . . Dwayne was the biggest wanker on " American Hotrod " a shame as Boyd is a god in the hotrod world and will be missed by many.

Same, here been watching it every night on Quest, its almost as though I know the guys in the shop. I was wanting to send Boyd an e-mail and then stumbled across this on You Tube and had no idea whatsoever of his sad demise. He was certainly an innovative and original guy and will be sadly missed by those that knew him for sure.

I'v been watching American Hot Rod on Quest TV channel for the last 4 weeks and amazed at the work Boyd has put into restoring old cars and making hot rods from junkyard metal. Google his name and just found out that this legend is not with us any more, absolutely gutted now, God bless him and his family, a remarkable man
