  • Great match Kenny was so phenomenal on is feet and Dave was just devastating on the mat. I had the honor of being crushed by both of them when I was wrestling. Kenny was so fast that he made me feel like my feet were in quick sand and Dave put a high Turk on me that to this day affects the way I walk and lift objects off the ground...

  • The outcome may have been different if Schutz was younger. Then again maybe not. Monday has catlike reflexes. He moves like lightning. And he's not a heavyweight but he's still pretty big which makes his speed that much more impressive.

  • bs a win is a win

  • Who took 3rd?????

  • I don't remember, but Nate Carr was the third best wrestler in the country that weight in those days, but he dropped down and competed at 149 for the Olympics.

  • wow ive never seen a person nail a over under throw like that, so early an right in the middle of the mat, thats so damn risky lol

  • Kenny is so much more aggressive or something; it seems like Schultz can't do much.

  • Schultz was one seriously grizzled vet. :) Kenny's athleticism at this time was just unmatched. He was definitely at the top of his game. This is like the reverse of when Saitiev beat him in '96, the young lion devouring the old tough lion.

  • Two of America's best ever, and two of my favorites. Shultz had been beating guys like Kemp, Carr, etc. earlier in his career. Monday was just way too much for him at this point. The US has had some serious around this weight.

  • oh yeah, the talent at this weight for the US was unbelievable. Two of my favorites ever, as well.

  • Did you see the match with Nate Carr and Kenny Monday??? OH When Nate Carr Lost to Schultz they were like Nate Carr looked like a lil Kid And Nate Carr bet Monday IT was A nice Match! I Watched 100 times lol

  • I always knew Schultz was a great wrestler but for Monday two beat him twice Monday ust be a "Real" wrestling god.

  • I agree. All of the finals combined from this year's Worlds couldn't compare to this one match. And there were more than 10 others from the 1988 Trials alone...Chertow/Gonzales, Davis/Heard, Smith/Lewis, Carr/Metzger, etc., etc.

  • Great match qs. If only wrestling were still that exciting. Schultz is one mean mother.
