she had her all around gold medal stripped from her because they found an 'illegal' substance in her blood when they ran tests.This drug is not illegal anymore and she wasnt even aware she was taking the drug,she just took a cold and flu pill,given to her by the team doctor, which happened to contain the substance.

Pseudoephedrine is a forbidden stuff in that flupill.

It is the same with Ephedrine, wich contains beside PEA also Amphitamine. That's the case why it was forbidden. And that is the reason why Andreea Raducan had to give back her AA gold medal. Very sad, but theese were the rules

i know she made a petition during the 04 games to get her medal back bc the substance is no longer banned. i wonder if she got it back. but the good thing is though that most people still consider her the 00 all-around champ so i guess thats good. so sad for her though. :( lovely montage though.

that petition is still going on and they still refuse to give the medal back to her, even after they removed the drug from the banned substance list, but you're right, she will always be Olympic champion to me and everyone else! there is a website with a petition for people to sign and leave comments if any of you are interested, i already signed! i cant post the link here but if you search for it on google you will find it.

she won the all around title then the drug test showed that she took an illegal substance which turned out to be something in her cold medicine. so they took her gold medal away and the substance is no long illegal today. it was totally unfair because it wasn't her fault her doctor gave her the pill.

Its a cold pill it didnt really had an efect on her and it was never banned from the FIG and now its not even banned from the Olympics

@balletgymmad It's a stimulant, so it can make some people hyper. Stupid thing is, Raducan said it didn't help her win, it actually made her dizzy. Her teammate also took the same cold medicine, but because she was taller and weighed more the substance wasn't over the allowed amount. It's not even banned anymore....
