I cannot understand why he keeps on churning out this weak tripe. I agree BN was a good idea to start out with, but it's now becoming tedious. The CD cover looks cheap and I think its time Ritchie started rocking again. Having said that, will no doubt get the CD eventually!
@1352rb and i cannot understand how people like you cant understand how stupid you look when you trash the band/music but still look up their clips on youtube and then claim you will still buy it.
@rainbowpal3 Oh, 2 more things: 1) it is really pathetic that you have different screen names like JustAWord1 and Crimee so that you can pretend that other people agree with you on youtube. (using "schizo" over and over, the obsession with Armenia, and always popping in to comment on the same videos) 2) your cat videos are stupid.
@rainbowpal3 you see now how paranoid and dumb you look? im 30 people on youtube and we are coming to get you? lols. get real, those 2 are facebook friends who see what i post and respond when they want with their own opinion.
if you stalk other videos you will see we actually argued about other things we do not agree on, mr paranoid obsessive stalker ;)
@Crimee i dont know how i get them, but then again, this is also how i got you :P
and dan has lost the plot finally i see. similar to this guy.

Strange how Blackmore stopped aging 25 years ago. He's a cool dude, like the Charles Bronson of rock music, but he should start rocking again. I think most fans would be happy if he just released a rock album once in a while, and still kept Blackmore's Night as his main project.
one can say they are getting stuck, another can say they are losing their magic... and i say the magic is still present - because they enjoy themselves and bring the peace to their music. thank god for such music!
@all the BN fans. Question. Would ANY of you have even considered listening to this bizarre blend (or is that bland) of pop & recycled folk if Blackmore hadn't been involved?
@rainbowpal. Blackmore is the finest "rock" guitarist I've ever heard. If you feel that Black Night & All Night Long are representative of RB's output, you really need to spend some time LISTENING to his solos, esp. the live stuff, where he takes improvising on a theme to new levels. BN are, frankly, twee nonsense.
@MrMattocaster i have a huge live collection of blackmore of all eras, also being a guitarist of 20 years ;)
you think BN is nonsense, fine, your opinion, but why are you searching their vids then?
i think in deep purple he played sheep drivel for the unwashed masses, without any content. in rainbow he actually played musical, getting in that dimension.
and in blackmore's night he finally is playing content only, stripped off the ego and peacock bullshit guys like you seem to enjoy.
@rainbowpal3 "i think in deep purple he played sheep drivel for the unwashed masses." unwashed masses, huh?
you do not get what music is about, otherwise you wouldnt be this much up your own ass and think your taste is superior to all.
music is personal and relative. what you get out of BN another gets exactly in the same way out of deep purple. as long as you dont understand that, you will never come close to understanding music, no matter if you've been playing guitar for 20 years ;-)
@jcamp193709 it seems i kicked your ass so well you are now obsessively stalking me on internet, haha. look at your paranoid posts, are you on medication? hallucinations? ;P
if you read what i was responding to, you would see i was making a PARODY of his post, mimmicking him to make him realize what he said is dumb, like what i typed as a response is. a parody, not my real opinion (i am a fan of those bands, duh).
i know it takes some intelligence to see what i did, but try at least ;)
@MrMattocaster why do you talk like your taste is the only thing that is sane and acceptable? what you think is bizarre is the best thing to another, dont be so closeminded.
just because you dont like something doesnt mean other cant. most BN fans dont even care for blackmores earlier bands, fact. its rather amusing to hear bitter deep purple fans like you to claim BN fans are all former deep purple fans and already knew blackmore. totally false.
@rainbowpal3 I don't know, if I'd call it a fact that most people who listen to Blackmore's Night don't care for his previous bands--considering how many of them wrote sympathetic posts after Ronnie James Dio passed away. Plus, if Blackmore's Night fans are not aware of stuff Ritchie did with Deep Purple or Rainbow, then what the hell where a lot of them doing for 30+ years?
@sabbathmaiden been to many shows, talked to lots of BN fans this decade. i would say most i talked to had no interest in blackmores former bands before BN.
in fact it was the other way around. many BN fans know deep purple and rainbow thanks to BN ;P
BN is fairly big in the new age genre and that is where most new BN fans know them from. also people who like soft music with musical content, like ABBA (dont laugh :P). the hardrock fans are a fairly small group these days.
@rainbowpal3 That is pretty interesting--although I'm going to assume that most of them know the opening riff to "Smoke on the Water" and the song "Man on the Silver Mountain"?
@sabbathmaiden yes, of course smoke on the water is known, just like stairway to heaven and bohemian rhapsody and most think the guitarist in those songs is always clapton or hendrix, haha.
the first 2 albums was mainly fans of deep purple and rainbow (me being one of them), but the ghost of a rose album changed the fan base a lot. that is when the non-rock new age crowd took over and discovered 'he wrote smoke on the water?'. then they try out rainbow etc.
@rainbowpal3 and to add, people who say the first few are the best and the latter arent, are mainly deep purple/rainbow fans, whom are a minority. while the majority are people who didnt start out as deep purple/rainbow fans, who feel BN got better each album.
although i dont know if they achieved it again with this one, secret voyage was an amazing album. i think autumn sky at least equals it though after half a dozen listens now.
"Believe In Me" and "Keeper Of the Flame" (both songs shown here) were my favorites to listen to. Best of Luck to RB and Co. on the sales of the new album and congratulations on your new edition (Autumn Esmerelda) too. Peace.
Ritchie really has lost the plot he is now completely insane!! lol But hey he is the greatest rock guitarist who has walked the planet so deserves to enjoy himself in his later years doing exactly what he wants .Cant say im looking forward to the new album seems like more of the same the first few albums were good but the last few are simply retreads IMHO still a good live band though when they can be bothered touring
@lightintheblack more of the same like any other band you like you mean?
every band has a certain style, they stick to it even if they dont want it. im glad it will be more of what we expect from blackmores night!
most people think their last was their best album and they keep getting better and better....except the ones who just want him to 'return to rock ' and play black night all night long, lol. they usually say what you said (first few was good, then all the same).
nope thats totally wrong i dont particularily want ritchie to return to rock he is now too old and past it IMHO though im sure he could still do some one off shows no problem as for BN then i actually really enjoy BN as a live band i just havent enjoyed the last couple of albums all the previous albums had some great and some good tracks the last few have had a couple of decent tracks and the rest drivel IMHO nothing to do with them not being rock tracks at all
@rainbowpal3 i do like BN and they do play a lot of material i like!! as i said in my post they are IMHO a good live band and seeing Blackers perform is always a treat as the guy is immensely talented and charismatic and Candi is a fine singer and frontwoman for the band i have the right not to be impressed by the last few albums without being told to find a new band! most bands that have had a long career basically have 3/4 great albums and the rest tend to be formula BN are no different!
@lightintheblack the reasoning used by the bitter small group of deep purple/rainbow fans to critisize the album is bollocks though 'omg, it sounds like blackmore's night again'...no, really?
and you sounded like one.
i just got the album and there are 9 strong songs on them which are as good as the best on their former albums. so why look at it like 'this album that album' and instead listen to the seperate songs?
if you liked songs on other albums, you will like these too, simple.
fair enough mate i will reserve judgement till i hear the whole album and see what i think then, but just for the record i am NOT a bitter Deep Purple /Rainbow fan though i am a huge fan of both those bands i dont feel betrayed that Blackers is now in BN as i said i really like a lot of thier material and Ritchie has left a wonderful legacy of rock material and has more than earned the right to play what he wants to some of which is still brilliant some of which is NOT IMHO
its clear to feel: ritchie is doing the things he wants to do!!!!!
