Joey did beat the record by polishing the entire dinner: steak and a couple of sides (those are The Big Texan challenge rules).

Furious Pete unofficially took down the steak only in 7 minutes.

I admit that Furious Pete was extremely fast, but on this video, Joey does not seem like he is in any pressure to eat as fast as he usually does.

I would like to see Joey vs. Pete Head 2 Head in this matchup and Steak only.

yes, this is valid....everyone gets to take a "test" bite to verify the steak is cooked the way you want it. So, the time is correct ate 8:52. Ive been to this place many times, and its always done this way.

At 56secs he cuts into his steak "officially" and the timer is started and at 59 secs. he takes his first so called "official" first bite. Don't get me wrong, I respect Joey's accomplishments cause I know I can't do that, however, taking all things into account he only beat the previous record by 2 seconds. He still set the new record but a time of 8:52secs I think is not valid.

Who decides if this is official? I question this because at the onset of the video he is already cutting into the steak/food. At 20-21secs. he takes his "first" bite of the steak. At 43secs he signs the official papers/wavers.
