I was very underwhelmed by Incan Gold, it did nothing for me. I think there are far more fun push your luck games. That said, I'd be up to trying it with 8 players.

wait, did you redistribute the common pot to all players still present if the pot exceeds number of players still present?
i always kept the pot aside and growing, seems like this way it would provide much more incentive for people to get out and grab the pot.
