@quatfro NO. during a big accident radio silence is obeyed so that ambulance services etc can be dispatched to accident by radio control without people interrupting. Its vital.
ALSO @contactacb you got stand on the bank and watch a terrifying accident and see if u hold composure. Running and flapping about... insult. especially cause u prob never marshalled in your life.
@deeproracing Ok, for comparison's sake, the marshalls were on the scene in about 9-11 seconds. Gerhart Berger's crash at Imola, where the marshalls were transported by truck rather than foot, it took them 15 seconds to reach the car. Since the Imola marshalls were considered fast by Murray "pants on fire" Walker, then being there in about 2/3rds the time makes the Brit marshalls grease lightning.
@deeproracing Run and you fall over and are useless, or worse get taken out - there is many a clip of marshals running & flapping about and not being that effective, plus the famous one who ran across a track & got killed by a car (also killing the driver). The terrain isn't conducive for running, especially if the car hits a gravel pit.
ddaaaaannnnnggggg, man! you can see the fire just engulf the driver, and the only thing that's left protecting the driver is the roll cage itself. thats IT!! all aspects of the bodywork of that car is g-o-n-e GONE!! thank god he survived that one! :O
Hard crash! wach the incar footage you can see the drivers head getting banged about in the mirror. The car help up really well considering it was a 145mph crash, did it go through the barrier.
oh my goddess! never seen a crash like this.... thank god that the driver escaped of this crash and inferno.... and thank the marshalls that helped very quick!
was this really on destroyed in seconds because ive never seen it and im an avid watcher the back end just lurched up slightly causing the nose to dig in deeper and making it cartwheel! more times that what it should of if it just went up or flat
bad. just shows how driver safety is paramount. did anyone get the GT50 crash at oulton park last month. two drivers one hobbled away the other fractured his spine, nasty but amonth later and ones back racing the others retired but walking wounded. respect to the roll cage..
i was oppisite side of the track outside the fogarty moss center and i thought he was dead, but when he got out and stood up his helmet was still steaming, lucky guy...

@mikeyisace07 Thanks, guys! Appreciation is good motivation! It's not just lads by the way. ;-) I'm co-pilot on a medical car at Francorchamps: first woman to be so and since then a few others have followed. We all do our best, but the shortage of money to supply marshals and intervention teams with proper equipment and training is still harsh reality in motorsport. Funny for a sport that depends entirely on VERY rich people... :-(

yes its Hunter abbott, I know him, I had lunch with him once....nice guy...but realy lucky.. im happy he didnt get hurt amazing how he jumped out of the burning car. well done.
I've just got back from the Thruxton round of the British GTs. Would you believe there was another massive crash involving a Ginetta G50. The number 52 car Redwood/Mussi hit the marshalls post at the end of Brooklands / Woodham Hill at full chat side on. Fortunately it was the empty side not the drivers side but it was a real shocker
This was my friends car... and he told me hose that the fuel enters the tank in, because it runs a dry break system, was attached to a piece of bodywork and as that got ripped off, thats why it burst into flames.
As Dn2kproductions said, these cars are designed for speed... not accidents!
