  • whay did it go off

  • is this the Chevy Chase Pavillion Embassy Suites in Maryland?

  • rerminds me of waking up at 3 am in hawaii back in 2008 and the alarms sounded just like that! -except there was no recording telling you not to use elevators.

  • I'm a hotel employee and some of the comments I see about wanting money back are actually are ridiculous. When a Fire alarm goes off the panel tells the exact location of the alarm trip. Our jons requires to make sure you are safe. Sure I can understand being woke up a pain but would you rather be woke up or burned alive. Even if there wasn't a physical fire it could've been.

  • I have never heard this Simplex voice evac.

  • @msj191961 It's a customized message the contractor or owners of the building can specify a custom message when the system is being installed

  • @msj191961 The typical Simplex voice evac message goes "ATTENTION! ATTENTION1 ATTENTION! An emergency has been reported. All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit and walk down to your assigned re-entry floor or main lobby. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR! walk to the nearest stairway DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR! walk to the nearest stairway.

  • Are they allowed to do this? We did this at college and it was annoying.

  • "i'm gonna sue for a $150,000!" lol

  • What did you say right after the first set of whoops from the alarm stopped? it was right after you went back into the room and started walking out it sounded like you said "DIE!!"

  • Yeah is it is a simplex system you can see a Simplex T-Bar pull station toward the end of the video

  • Sucks for the people having sex next door.

  • Why get affect false alarm at all times? Might be someone mess-around with it or smoking fire alarm?

  • I guess some moron chose to pull the alarm or burn food.

  • i've stayed here before

  • It says "Attention Attention this is an emergency leave the building through marked exits do not use elevators. Is that simplex voice evac?

  • @Gb755c Yes, I believe it is custom.

  • wow must be really scary

  • Why does the alarm say "this ISN'T an emergency" at 0:36? And does it also say "leave the building through a locked exit" right after that?

  • @Davrodeo you're not hearing the message correctly. It says "This IS an emergency. Leave the building through MARKED exits"... The message does sound kind of muffled and garbled which explains why there could be some confusion.

  • Why does the alarm say "this ISN'T an emergency" at 0:36?

  • I was there a couple weeks ago!

  • this is what the alarm at the renninance hotel in dallas. we were in church in the lower level!! the sprinkler on the roof of the 12th floor pooped open and flooded the lobby!! the workers had to take a ladder and hang over the edge of the 12th floor!! It was scary!!! =O

  • If this was in my hotel i would be like SCREAMING: HOLY CRAP ITS AN AIR RAID!!!!

  • its a fire alarm not an air raid siren

  • i know that but.......it does sound like its the end of the world

  • @Clooud1232 Air raid sirens are usually one continuous blast not three short bursts like this one

  • Lol simplex voice evac panel. Also it says a locked exit.

  • I'm hearing marked exits, not locked exits...

  • @trevordon1021 It says "Attention! Attention! This is an emergency. Leave the building through MARKED exits do not use elevators!"

  • If this was me, I would want my damn money back!

  • it sounds like a voice evac system, is it or it could be a truealert voice alarm?

  • yep

  • That would suck to wake up to this. I would rather wake to a voice evac then a loud horn lol

  • good ol simplex voice evac

  • dude I remember this, it pissed me off.

  • I love the speaking alarm!

  • WANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why would a hotel have a fire drill at 1 in the morning?

  • Where was this? I remember about six years ago (I think it was in Dallas) when I had to wake up to the fire alarm. It wasn't that noise though, the one I was at only had whooping, no speaking.

  • Embassy Suites hotel chains are great hotels.

  • well embassy suites cares to make sure their alarms are working in case of a real fire

  • and the panel is Simplex 4100U with voice evac

  • Amazing how people know all this stuff.

  • I believe those are Truealert Speaker Strobes because of the voice

  • Well, TrueAlert speaker/strobes sound whatever is programmed by the main panel. But you're right about that being a Simplex 4100U. This must be an earlier version by how it sounds similar to the Simplex 4100/4120/4003 slow whoop, then they changed it on later versions. But that is not the 4100U's default voice message. They do the same one as the Simplex 4100 and 4120 did.

  • yep its a simplex

    i know it all

and these things dont happen just because

its either one of 2 things

a dumbass pulled the fire alaram

    or something actually happened

  • @wiley207 Doesn't the default message say "Attention! Attention! Attention!

  • @ilovepolice1 No that is the typical simplex voice the 4100u typicall has that same voice when the system was installed the contractors had Simplex program a custom message. The voice of the 4003 Voice Evac Control Panel which is an add-on to make a system voice evac may have a slightly different voice but to me they both sound the same. you could have standard JBL speakers hooked up to it and it would still sound like that.

  • Well at 8:30 this morning while I was sound asleep in my bed at the Crown Plaza in Garden Grove a similar situation happened fortunatly it was a false alarm.

  • according to Matt this was at the ES in Anaheim

  • Dude I think i stayed at the same embassy when i was in florida and the same shit happened it fucking sucked it was in the morning.

  • They acutally make the guest do fire drills ?

  • I think it was a false alarm...

  • probablly

  • Isn't it crazy how you think about something and then like a couple hours later it happens? same think happened when we had a bomb threat at my school.

  • THAT HAPPENED TO ME AT SCHOOL! it was hilarious coz I said to my friend "we havent had a fire alarmfor ages!" and he said "Hmmmm"

Then in french the alarm activated when I was looking at the sensor sounder!

  • That happened to me in 2nd grade too lol.

  • "In French?"

  • He meant in french *CLASS*

or maybe he means that his school had recorded fire alarm messages, but it went off- and was speaking in french? who knows =D

  • Voulez vouz couchez avec moi? ;D

  • thanks lady marmalade

  • next time take an elephant gun, then, if the alarm goes off, shoot it(one shot with an elephant gun will obliterate the alarm), and go back to sleep.

  • lol

  • It rather defeats the point of the alarm in the first place, doesn't it?

  • Yes, immediatly shooting the alarm kind of defeats the purpose, but obviosly he was joking around

  • Was it cool when you saw the flashing out side. lol i would want to be there even tho it happend to me lol at a different embassy suites.

  • I think that's a Simplex fire alarm system.

  • Did he say use the locked exit?!?!?!??!!

  • It sure sounded like locked exit and I was like WTF?

  • ive been in one of those situations and i hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this happened to me once in a embassy suites hotel. it sounded just like that, they make us stay outside for hours

  • i love hotel fire alarms but ive never been in one and i want to be in one so bad!

  • I don't want to be in there!!!!!!!!! :(

  • This looks familiar... was this the Embassy Suites near McLean, Virginia?

  • wow, slow whoop AND code 3 timing.

  • wow that place is huge!!!!!!!

  • shit

  • HEY!!! I've been there!! There wasnt a drill though thank lord!

  • I'm scared of fire drills

    Period

  • so am I

  • I'm not really scared, they're just drills, but they are extremely annoying. Especially if the weather is cold outside.

  • It wasn't a drill, probably a false alarm.

  • yeah they wouldnt have been out there so long though, maybe there was a gas leak in the building somewhere...

  • u know. everytime im watching fire alarm video, i get a little scared, getting goosebump, and tears out my eyes. i dont know y but im not that scared just like seeing fire alarms

  • then stop watchin 'em, dude.

  • that was last year them now im intrested in fire alarms.if you dont believe me then look me up and u will see few of my fire alarm friends that has them.:)

  • Yeah, it's kind of weird how something so trivial can be so interesting, but hey, it passes time.

  • Lol lthat fire alarm sounds liek special effect from Universal Studios Lol

  • I sent Matt a message so hopefully he'll upload a new copy of Part 1

  • fix it

  • fix your video it wont load!

  • hate it when crap like that happens at school

  • this happened to me in a high rise hotel in ocean city, md. those bastards did not offer any discount. screw the children save the beer.

  • i had this happen to me also, we couldnt even get in to the building because the alarm went off fire trucks came

  • It wasn't a drill. Public places like hotels are not required to conduct fire drills with anbody except for their staff. But just because this wasn't a drill does not mean that somebody pulled it, it could have been a glich in the system. But fact remains the same, evacuations are very annoying and sometimes inconvenient (like this one). But you are very lucky that the system is a voice evacuation system and not a horn blowing in your ear! Did Embassy Suites Offer any kind of discount??

  • I've heard that this happens a lot in Embassy hotels. Not likely that they offer compensation.

  • If you click on part 4 it says they were out there until 3 am, so they were out for about an hour, seems weird they wouldn't know by then it was some A-hole pulling it, and call everyone back in atleast half an hour if not shorter, maybe there was a gas leak

  • Did I mention the fire department came? they would not call the fire department if it was a false alarm

  • actually whenever an alarm is set off it automatically calls the fire department.

  • I used to think that it only called the FD if the fire alarm was set off by a smoke sensor or heat sensor.

  • I don't think that's possible. But you never know.

  • @SilentXKnight5204 Our fire alarm in our hotel the holiday inn express fire alarm went off at 2 am and the fire dept came it was a false alarm of course though

  • that hapend to me once at 9:00pm in south san francisco scared the krap out of me and my friends

  • Fire alarms scare the fuck outta me

  • i almost craped my self What The Hell

  • That's funny, "What the hell?"

  • I'd be pissed if this happened. To have the fire alarms go off at this hour, someone had to pull it as a prank. There is no such thing as a drill at 2AM.

  • That's sooooooo annoying-- I would be ROYALLY PISSED

  • Was there infact a fire? Was it a joke? I heard the girls saying the electronic keys would not work was this due to the alarm or if there was infact a fire did it fry the network?

  • How come people call that a slow whoop? It sounds more like a aruuuu to me!

  • Some one pulled it. They would not have a drill at 1:30 in the morning. It was a cruel joke to get everybody up and to get out of the building. it is obvious.

  • I dont think hotels even have to do fire drills at all

  • They do in the UK

  • How would u know if its in the uk? did they mention it in the video or is embassy suites not a chain, the one in the uk is the only one? or is it a chain but only in the uk? I thought that was in california because the person said they were going to disney woorld teh next day. What makes u think that hotel is in the UK

  • thats stupid!

  • sounds like somebody pulled it, you should be fortunate that it was only voice evac and not some annoying horn blasting.

  • Matt was this taped at the Lake Buena Vista one in Orlando?

  • I believe that even hotels have to do fire alarms, it happened to one of the teachers at my elementry school. But in this case, I'm sure somebody pulled it.

  • I love voice evacuation

  • Where was it?

  • That's such a shit alarm sound, I can't imagine it's very effective. Though, I'm used to the UK's crappy style. It needs to be scary and loud! :P

  • I'd just make it play recorded J-Pop. That'll make people leave a building as fast as they can.

  • Fire alarms scare the shit out of me. I would be so pissed.

  • Fire alarms scare the shit out of me. I would be so pissed, dude.

  • tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • if that happed to me i would have blown the head off the person who pulled the alarm with a 12 gauge shot gun

  • Was there a fire?!

  • No we took the stairs with everyone else in their pj's. Ha, there was a guy in a blanket and whitey tighties.

  • you took the elevator?

  • My office had the same alarm. Very annoying

  • so they made you get the fuck out at 2 am?!?! they should of told you if they planned it or gave you a free night :l

  • Gees, what a production! My school has a fire alarm worse than that. It sounds like a hi pitch whistle with the ball in it. It didn't talk though.

  • whhhooooeeeeeeeeeeppp wwwhhhoooeeeeeeppppp

  • ouch my ears
