How did this turn out for you in the end? Did it all get sorted out for graduation?
In my case my program coordinator caught wind of what had been happening with regards of my placement etc. and she stepped in and put everyone in their place. I will graduate a couple months later (it was too late in the semester to catch up on the placement hours) but I will still graduate at the same college. It's amazing how ignorant people can be! I am glad I can stay where I am. Love this city. Be well JJ!

How long did it take you to make this video? xD I think it sucks that your laws wont let you even change your name... especially with being on T and having had surgery. In the UK you technically need a GRC to be declared your identity legally, but you can still get all your paperwork e.g passport with a M marker on it without one.
@KoopaHardStyle Yeah, I know. I got my name and title changed in the UK, and it was no big deal. Unfortunately Dutch law doesn't recognize the deed poll by itself as valid for Dutch citizens, and my UK passport expired.

@aryanvaryan Unfortunately it must be done via a lawyer, so it's pricey. And I'm bound to a regional court system, so I'll probably end up with the same/a similar tosser. Jurisprudence on this is not at all encouraging. :(
The current Dutch law is under revision though. If the revision comes through, it'll still be a long wait before it'll actually become effective, but hopefully we'll be less screwed 1 or 2 years from now.
@JJFanshawe Does it have anything to do with hysto? As in "it would be inconvenient if you got pregnant with a male ss number"? That's the requirment in Norway, but you have to have it their way. Which means waiting anything from weeks to months with loads of back and forths and non-working hopitals. Again, I really hope you get what you deserve soon :)
@aryanvaryan Yes, for ftms the infertility requirement is usually met through having a hysterectomy. You can try to at least change your name before that, but there's a very high chance, with the law still being what it is right now, that your name change will be rejected. The proposed law is supposed to scrap the infertility requirement. I hope that Norwegian law also stops sucking so badly soon.

@jackthemarlowe I'm also a UK citizen, and my name change there via deed poll was successful, except that I can't use it here because Dutch law does not recognize the deed poll. Dutch law currently requires sterilization to change your legal sex, and the law governing name changes leaves a giant loophole for individual judges to be asshats and block transpeople (and are also inherently prejudiced against trans people, e.g. we need to wait longer, people are allowed to lodge objections, etc.).
