I am from Germany. I am a little bit confused about the conditions in your country. It is a part of the European Union and it is sad to see so many people fighting against other lifestyles and show such a low level of tollerance in a growing multiculture society. laimonis9, I think a lot of people agree with you. But if gays don't parade, they can become invisible in society. If they are invisible, people have no chance to see that actually, they are normal people just like everyone else, and people can create very negative images about what gay people might be like as they haven't actually seen any real gay people. That's why it is important for gays to get together and celebrate in a colourful parade to raise awareness a disprove negative stereotypes.
