In the dictionary from which you took the deffinition of 'democracy', did it really say "rule OF the people"? If it did, that is true, RULE OF PEOPLE, but if it said "rule BY the people" that would change the meaning considerably yes? Our own USA prints up The Constitution giving it out in little handbooks that read on front cover "Constitution OF the United States of America". However, the correct edition [published by JBS], reads "Constitution FOR the United States..." etc. words matter!

@peacefulpatriots I have never seen a fully democratic country, in the so called 'democracy's' we have now, it is more like a small group of wolves deciding for a country full of sheep what they will have for dinner.

The majority of people will do the right thing, small minority groups in power always do the wrong thing.

Democracy = Mob Rule. No country embracing l democracy has ever been able to survive longer than 200 years and that is only because there is no such thing as any system being a pure form of its name. The only way any sovereignty can be "with the people" is for clear laws to be written down and Inforced for everyone;, like the grand plan of America's constitutional Republic form of govt. that never got a real chance to be implemented before evil rulers began chipping away at it in secret.
