Singapore Air flies LAX-NRT, which means you would connect to another airline to fly to PVG.

Airlines flying nonstop from the U.S. West Coast to Shanghai are:

hmm....i don't know what plane u r on... But the international flight always have personal TV screens equipped. At least that's the case for the A340 i flew twice from Shanghai to LAX.
