  • THIS IS ROY ORBISON! Someone transposed the Orbison record to a lower key--but it's Roy!

  • @georgiemaselli ....This is NOT Roy Orbison...This IS jay Black !! I've stated this before in some of my posts. This was recorded in 1982, many years after Jay became famous...his voice was deeper, his vibrato was more relaxed/slower. Even today, at 73 you can always recognize Jay's voice...the timber, the inflection, the phrasing...is the same as it was in 1965..the deep tone in his voice is much different than Roy's..they both did this song...listen closely and you can tell...Dawn

  • @georgiemaselli..... It's NOT Roy...it's Jay Black..but yes, in a lower key. They both did this song...listen carefully to both versions...you can tell the difference, mostly in the deeper tones....

  • THIS IS ROY ORBISON!

  • @georgiemaselli ..to give you another comparison...look up " Jay Black Running Scared ( the new version ) ". This was recorded in 1982 for the same album......Jay sounds so much like Roy Orbison, it's uncanny......But, It IS INDEED Jay Black...not Roy

  • To ArtyElvis...This IS Jay Black...it was 1982, his voice was lower and different..but yes, in a lower key..

  • Fantastic vocals.

  • Whoever is singing this is doing it in a much much lower key than Roy did it! I sing it in Roy's key of F Major, and I'm at the top with Roy!!!

  • This is definitely NOT Jay Black!!!

  • ...I listen to this every night now...its become one of my most favorites...

  • .......If I didn't know better I would say this IS Roy Orbison......just amazing by Jay. Jay's voice got deeper and fuller by 1982 when this was recorded, and the vibrato was more relaxed. I've listened to him since he started way back in the day...that makes both of us old....and I still love him..

  • Wonderful song. Oh, and what movie is this?

  • I love Jay Black's singing and he does sound like Orbison but note, I believe it's a couple full keys down from Roy's original. But of course it still sounds great! Wayne Arthur

  • I thought it was Orbison also! When you think about it, you just know Jay can do Orbison easily, Jay Black is a great Rock singer! Wayne Arthur

  • Lovely song/brings back so many memories/Jays' voice is absolutely beautiful

  • This is great---but the Lou Christie version is fantastic!!!

  • I'm a huge fan of Orbison and Jay Black -- I think I like Roy's version better ... maybe because I'm so used to it after 40+ yrs of listening to it.

This is a FINE version, though.

Jay's voice is one of the finest that ever happened in rock 'b' roll. Incredible pipes !!

  • What can I say! Wonderful rendition!

  • The similarity is something else, almost haunting. Great performance, as per usual.

5 stars ***** and Thumbs Up.

  • Jay sounds more like Roy Orbison on this track than Roy himself. Great track. Keep up-loading J ATA. Dave
