  • mw3 is not the best selling game

    get a life

  • @gameroyal123 sorry it was the most pre ordered but wii sports i the bst selling of all time

  • mario just got beat most selling gameis now m3

  • @TrueHBK10 nope, its actually wii sports -_- yep that stupid game sold more than mario

  • Wii is a piece of shit, Gamecube was good

    N64 ehh

    SNES FUCKING KICKED MAJOR ASS

  • HOW DARE YOU SAY THE NES IS THE WORST EVER! WHAT THE FUCK IS YOU'RE PROBLEM?

  • Just because a game doesn’t have good graphics doesn’t mean that it’s not a great, sure it makes the game very appealing, but the true enjoyment of the game is the gameplay. Without great gameplay, the graphics wouldn’t matter anyway.

  • Nice mini-bosses music in the BG.

  • Saved the industry and established the biggest and highest rated IPs in the industry. Damn well better believe this is the single greatest console in existence.

  • @loljapan1 Ah, the saved the industry myth again. So ridiculous. Most financially successful Third Gen console in Japan and North America? Yes, and would remain the best selling console of all time until the PS1. However, there were other consoles that existed at the same time as the NES: Atari 7800, Sega Master System, Sega SG-1000, and others. Learn some history, fanboys, because all you're doing is regurgitating the same myth you learned on the Internet over and over again.

  • @uzi9millimetuh

What fucking myth, exactly? It was the single console that revitalized the video game sector after the crash. There is no "myth" to this. And thanks for the ad hominem! :D

I believe that you're the one that needs to brush up on the industry's history. And I never said there weren't any other consoles at the time of the NES. Don't know what argument you were making by bringing them up.

Comical response at best, but please, do keep downstating the importance of the NES. :D

  • @loljapan1 Comical is your understanding of video game history. Another kid who wasn't even around back in the day. Well, let me "fucking" take a stab at this, though it's not going to change your "I red teh history of it on google!!1" mentality. The myth is that the NES "saved" home video games, that without the NES home consoles would have died off like the dinosaurs. The fact is consoles never went away but rather people in the US were focused on 8-bit computers at the time.

  • @uzi9millimetuh

So... the home console and PC markets are one in the same now? No, I think I was spot on with that comment of mine. :)

  • @loljapan1

The fact is, at the time of the 2600, home consoles carried the connotation of poor quality, off-putting to the consumer to say the least.

Developers could very well have moved on to PCs, but that would NOT have alleviated the stigma that home consoles carried.

  • @loljapan1 Again you display your ignorance. Back in the mid-80s, yes, home computers and consoles were in hot competition. Inexpensive home computers like the Apple II and C64 were what helped to kill off console and video game sales. Many were getting rid of their Ataris and Colecovisions for computers that could not only play better games but do much more. But you weren't around back then. No, it wasn't the days of Mac and Windows and Xbox 360 and PS3. You really have no clue.

  • @uzi9millimetuh

If you're only going to throw ad hominems at me, then I'm bailing out after this. But it boggles my mind that you would even begin think PCs and home consoles were EVER competing for the same market. It's the same diatribe spewed by fanatics thinking that multipurpose tablets are overtaking the handheld market.

The market for PCs, multiple purpose devices, and dedicated gaming machines have always been, will always be two separate markets.

  • @uzi9millimetuh

It also boggles my mind that you would think that anything other that poor quality software was the biggest contributing factor of 87 crash.

And, finally, son, I've been gaming since the Fairchild more or less. But those assumptions you make of me are quite amusing to read. You can keep it up if you want to, but I'm out. :)

  • @loljapan1

    *derp*

    83 crash

  • @loljapan1 Amazing you can be so clueless for an old timer. Oh well. Guess your eyes were closed back then, or that you weren't much of a gamer at the time. Anyhow, happy Googling. I'm sure your head will be chock full of revisionist history before long.

  • @loljapan1 Also, love how you are completely ignorant to the 80s console vs home computer issue (no, there was no such thing as a "PC" back then). Laughable. It "boggles my mind" that you think the 83 crash (no, it wasn't 1987. Get it right) was all due to bad games. I dig it though. You are one of those old farts who has gotten nostalgic, read up a bit about classic games and such on the Internet, watched some Youtube videos, and gleaned some history from clueless 20-somethings.

  • @loljapan1 But eventually there would have been a console to light the fires again. The NES just happened to do it in 85. Indeed it made a huge contribution and was hugely successful but it didn't "save" the industry. The industry would have always existed. But here we go: ET, Pac-Man, bad games, video game crash of 83, yaddayadda -- all the bullshit conjecture that has become "truth" after being recited so many times on the internet. But whatever. My heart's not into this. Good day

  • replied to wrong person in previous comment

    @uzi9millimetuh

"But eventually there would have been a console to light the fires again."

I'm not going to argue against this, since I can't say for certain that that would have transpired had the NES not existed

  • @uzi9millimetuh

All you've done with that comment of yours is establish the fact that you're the guy at the corner of the street trying to argue the validity of geocentric theory to the passer-bys. Peddle your falsities elsewhere, because anyone with an inkling of video game knowledge, or someone who's been gaming since 1970 could vouch for what the NES had done for the industry at the time, and nobody, certainly not me after this, will bother making arguments that don't need to be made. :/

  • Comment removed

  • YES! 20 butt... what? xD

    NES, Nintendo!! my hero!!

  • frustrated mario bros.!

  • I'd of put the playstation #1 since the orignal nintendo failed big time in europe (which you failed to mention) I played mario for the first time with super mario all stars cart on the snes. But still great videos.

  • no way the nes had to many shitty games to warrent best console, and there was some really really really crap games.

  • PS2 ain't number 1 but NES is? What the fuck is wrong with you? SNES maybe, NES? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • @TheGamerRejects NES>PS2*900.

  • @CODMarioWarfare

Pshh NES sucks. Just cause it's the most meaningful, don't make it better. PS2 had the best games, the most games, and lasted longest. I would say PS1 was the best, but that's just my personal favorite. SNES can be a contender though.

  • @TheGamerRejects PS2 was never my favorite, however the NES does not suck. Nobody's forcing you to like NES, but no way in hell does it suck. It has better games IMO and maybe the PS2 did last long, but most of the stuff released within the past 3 years was crap.

  • @CODMarioWarfare

Maybe cause it was dying maybe? NES does suck. Nothing on it was great. I played the NES and SNES around the same time so I am judging it by how much fun it is. And how much better it is. SNES had amazing games. N64 had good games, PS1 had amazing games, PS2 had the ultimate collection, Gamecube had good games, Wii had shitty games, PS3 had good games but little exclusives, Xbox 360 was good for a short time, Xbox original is the worst system of all the ones I played,

  • @TheGamerRejects

Some points I agree with. I'm old school, started with NES, etc, and I can say without shame that I enjoyed more games on later consoles. But it doesn't suck. Some of the games still stand the test of time, SMB3 is great, for example. However, these lists are seldom as simple as calculating which system had the most 9's in metacritic and ranking them in order. There's nostalgia and impact on the industry factoring in as well. Besides, how much fun you had is purely subjective.

  • 0:36 LOL

  • 7shado i support u dude

  • Where's the PS3 and Xbox 360?

  • @JKP0P lol

  • I agree games with good game play and bad grafics is 90% better than game with good grafics and not has fun game play

  • And just think, Nintendo went to Atari to make this system and they said no!!

  • I never got into Nintendo.. Not even the N64.. Always been a Xbox and PlayStation Fan.

  • @TIPPIN187 i feel that it is my duty to call u a noob.

  • @7shado eh get over it.. Nintendo is garbage compared to the competition. Especially when PlayStation was in its prime years ago.

  • @TIPPIN187 well i have the right to disagree. playstation and xbox have Always been notorious for being unreliable. i consider that garbage compared to nintendo.

  • @7shado i feel that it is my duty to call u a DUMBASS.

  • @YuhgOOch22 may I ask why? I understand that you are mocking me but I don't see how defending my love of retro videogames makes me dumb. so plz explain. thnx

  • Comment removed

  • @TIPPIN187 Hey Fanboy just accept the fact that without Nintendo you would have neither xbox or playstation and that's a fact!!! HAVE RESPECT

  • amen!!!

  • I Remember guessing this right, it's obvious.

  • You just used -the minibosses- as BGM or its just my ears?...

  • Sony can go up Mario's ass IMO and SEGA is for douches!

  • play station 1 is way better

  • @SuperBlackjack22

no its not graphics are not important

    nes is just classic

  • @AlphaMaIe never said graphics mattered... The NES is of course a classic but in my eyes it's not the best

  • @SuperBlackjack22

yeah whats your best ? mine best console is gba

i like pokemon games, fire emblem and arcade games

but every console is good i just dont like new consoles because they just care

about graphics and multiplay not about gameplay maybe pc is best because you have

    emulators there :D

  • @SuperBlackjack22 yur fucking stupid

  • PS1 FTW!!!

  • By the way 14 people are Atari Jaguar fanboys!

  • I am a child of the 80's, I was born in 1980 so I had the fortune of living out my days as a kid for every year of the 1980's. The music, the movies, the saturday morning cartoons, USA Up All Night, the fads, the fashions, and yes of course....the video games. The NES & SNES will always hold a special place in my heart. Getting out of school on a Friday so I could rent video games at two bucks a pop to play over the weekend was exciting and those are memories I will never forget.

  • 3D FOR da WIN!

  • The NES is obscenely overrated

like the Citizen Kane of video games.

  • Comment removed

  • Why is N64 above PS2?

  • @pandbgt01

Good call -- probably because Gooch and Dooshebag are too busy giving Mario hand jobs to notice: that someone besides Nintendo makes game consoles.

The N64 was no where near the success of the PS2 -- a game console that is still sold new 10 years after its original release.... and the best selling game console of all time. G & D are just lame little N fanboys.

  • @slantsix73 haha that is a joke. The Playstation was infuenced by the SNES who wouldn't exist if it weren't for the NES.Look at the Playstation controller, now look at the SNES'.Similiar? The SNES came out first,so.

Also,"Genesis does" clearly shows how Sega knew Nintendo was too great and that they would never outsell it.Sega pretty much replied on Nintendo bashing to get attention. No Nintendo = no Sega,no Sony and no video games.

  • @Random90sKid

You know Sega was in the arcade industry before the NES was released? Or that the SG-1000 was released on the same year as the Famicom? Look, we can credit Nintendo with a revival of the industry, setting standards, games, etc., but gaming as a whole is bigger than any single company. Rest assured, there would be video games today, regardless of the NES. Yes, it would look different, but it's silly to say every single game today was directly derived from Nintendo.

  • @dunnono00 if Sega was around at the time, why did the crash of 1983 happen? Because Sega couldn't do shit.To clearify it:

I KNOW and I'll repeat KNOW that there were video games before NES,but people lost interest in them for a reason. The NES is better.

  • @Random90sKid

Where's the logic in that? I could just as easily say the crash of '83 happened because Nintendo couldn't do shit. Or did you think Nintendo's video game history started with the NES? I wasn't discussing whether you knew there were games before the NES, I was disputing your claim that "no Nintendo = no Sega and no video games". There is such a thing as giving too much credit. Video games didn't suddenly just "stop" worldwide because of 1983.

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... Again -- you don't have a clue what you are talking about. People were still playing games at Arcades and on Computers. Nobody lost interest in Video Games -- but people did get tired of getting ripped off buying crappy Coleco and Atari titles. Quality control is what caused the crash -- not a loss in interest. I have played video games nonstop since 1982 -- its not like we all said, "I quit" in 1983-84. I was buying new games for my C64 instead on my Atari.

  • @Random90sKid

Put down the Koolaid. Nintendo had nearly a 2 year head start on the competition starting in 1985. Of course Sega knew who they were competiting with. It doesn't change the fact that if Nintendo didn't sell the NES in the USA -- someone else would have filled that void. Nintendo didn't "save" shit.

American cars sucked in the late 1970's -- it's not like people stopped driving cars. If the NES didn't come along -- no biggie. The first to market nearly always wins.

  • @Random90sKid

Sure, Sony got screwed by Nintendo (as the PSX was originally designed to be an add-on to Nintendo hardware). So there was an influence. Nintendo was run by assholes in the late 1980's - early 1990s. All the laws they broke (monopoly / exclusives control) are well documented. The NES probably did more harm than good overall in retrospect -- by stagnating competition.

  • @slantsix73

These lists tend to be subjective. Units sold and build quality aren't necessarily the main criteria, and that's not always a bad thing. Games, impact on the industry/genre, and of course, nostalgia, all play a factor. Otherwise we would have the same sterile list composed of Playstation 2, Playstation 1, Nintendo DS, Gameboy etc.

Evidently the N64 made a bigger impact on these two than PS2.

  • No credibility. The Nintendo Entertainment System was the biggest piece of hardware trash ever made. Japan's Famicom was a well built, reliable system. The original NES was a pin bending, red light of blinking death monstrosity that never worked right.

The NES has to be the one example of when the cheap chinese knock-offs worked better. You have no clue picking this above the more reliable PS2, 2600 or Genesis. Talk about Nintendo fanboys -- you picked N for #1 and 2. What a joke.

  • Comment removed

  • @Random90sKid

Bullcrap -- Without the NES, someone else would have eventually launched a quality game console. Sega already had the Mark III in Japan -- the Master System was destined for the United States and so was the TurboGrafx for 1989. So if Nintendo didn't "save the video game market" -- Sega or NEC would have. Video Games may have "crashed" in the USA.... But they were always fine in Europe or Japan -- and that success would have made it here eventually.

  • @slantsix73 I don't care what could've happened or not.It saved gaming. before Sega did.Besides, the Genesis motto was "Genesis does what Nintendon't".That shit wouldn't exist if it weren't for Nintendo.

  • @Random90sKid

How does a motto change the fact that the original NES hardware were unreliable pieces of shit? If Nintendo hadn't "saved Video Games" in 1986..... Sega would have "Saved Video Games" in 1987 or 1989...... Or NEC would have "Saved Video Games" in 1989..... Or Sony would have "Saved Video Games" in 1994. Or Microsoft... etc. People give Nintendo way too much credit. Video Games only "crashed" in the USA. They never went anywhere in Europe or Japan.

  • @slantsix73 without the NES,there would be no SNES,N64 or any other console. So,you're either

    1-A Sega fantard

2-A kid who doesn't know jack shit about games.

  • Did anyone noticed the Castlevania song at 5:55 onwards?

  • alright nice list.

but the MOST SEXIEST console o earth is missing.

    no surprise, its fucking rare.

    but still.

the Victor Wondermega Model 1 (the one with the partially white CD flip-top)

i love the NES, but wow. that beast is sexy.

  • IrateGammer=no life (not that he has all the games...)

    AVGN=God

  • snes is way better look at mega man x and the turtles game

  • how the fuck is the NES better than SNES???!?!?!

  • @BowToMySkill They're close.... very close....

  • @BowToMySkill NES changed the video game market. and saved us from crap games and stuff

  • @BowToMySkill A lot of popular game franchises got their start on the NES; Metroid, Castlevania, Mega Man, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Zelda. It was also on the NES, not the SNES, that Mario became Super.

  • @BowToMySkill did the SNES save gaming? I think not,so go shove your childhood tapes up your ass.

  • @Random90sKid ive played some NES games and they are a PIECE OF SHITTTT! like that zelda game? holy hell what a piece of SHIT. SNES on the other hand is FUN, and you can actually see GRAPHICS.

  • Comment removed

  • The only people who don't understand how great the NES is are 5 year olds.Best console ever.

  • The NES deserves it.....turned video gaming from 1983 disaster to money-making success.

  • The NES is like the Citizen Kane of video games.

    Both grossly overrated

  • whats the music in the beginning 0:00 to 0:46

  • i played smb 3 soo many times now the thought of playing it is like zzzzzzzzz.... but of course like everyone else that was the bomb when it first came out.

  • Hey, dudes! I have 5 NES Consoles! That just shows how cool I am!

  • The Nintendo Entertainment System? Don't you mean the Famicom? (If you're gonna nitpick about the Genesis-Mega Drive name, why not this? Oh, that's right... fanboys.)

  • ..but my fav. consoles are the PS1 & SNES:P

  • NES much deserving of this spot. I felt that genesis should have been above the n64 though. n64 was good but it didn't have nearly as many good games as the genesis.

  • the NES is obscenely overrated

  • @Theriot6592 The NES saved the industry & created Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, Metroid, Contra, Prince of Persia, Ninja Gaiden, Battletoads, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, Kirby, etc etc. It's by far the Greatest Console. The other consoles except the PS1 & Atari2600 made primarily only sequels.

  • @ningeaBLADEclanuBECA you're an idiot. It did not single handedly save the industry, it's been exagerrated over time. Games were coming out on the Commodore between 83 and 85, saving millions of kids from dangerous outdoor activity, and the Sega Master System, actually a much better piece of hardware, was released just a year later. Btw, Kirby first appeared in 1992 on the GAME BOY, RETARD. Prince of persia was originally released on the Apple II and later PORTED to lots of consoles

  • @Theriot6592 screw u lying scum

  • @Mrjordanlover23 What the fuck am I lying about?

  • @Theriot6592 Actually there were 2 kirby on the NES.

  • @communistrecords yeah i said that Kirby debuted in 1992 on the Game Boy in Kirby's Dream Land. his first NES game, Kirby's Adventure, was a year later. 1993 was also past the NES's prime so i personally don't think Kirby should be counted as one of the things that made the specific console revolutionary

  • @Theriot6592 No but it did show the power of the console.

  • @Theriot6592

Awesome, couldn't have said it better myself. Only the morons who didn't live in 1983-1984

would say such foolish stuff. We were still all playing video games -- we just moved to better

    gaming platforms (C64, etc)

  • @ningeaBLADEclanuBECA most of he others aren't Nintendo games, but third party games and Godfather Nintendo basically threatened to break their legs if they published on any other system

  • THANK YOU NES YOU MADE MY CHILDHOOD SO GREAT I WILL CHOOSE YOU OVER ANY NEW CONSOLE ANY TIME!

  • 8 bit rape forever!!!! I LOVE THE NES!!!!

  • If you own 4 NES consoles, you are automatically the coolest kid on the block!

  • can someone tell me the name of the console in 4:06? i used to play that one long ago but cant remember the name XD thx

  • @michaelborg1 It was only in Japan. It was called the Famicom Home Family System.

  • @McDeathification thx i found the games :)

  • lol i play mario bros on the nes on a 42 in tv every week. awesome

  • N64 > PSX

  • @Erika445566 PSX > N60-first-analog-stick-my-ass

  • @strykah92 N64 > PSX

  • @Erika445566 Sega Saturn > N60-first-analog-stick-my-ass

  • @strykah92 I just found my old sega saturn yesterday. Awesome..but n64 still > Psx.

  • @Erika445566 Lolz. Awesome.

    But still. PSX > N64

How about we actually elaborate on why me and you thinks the N64 and PSX sucks respectively? :P

  • @strykah92 Sounds fair..Legend of zelda: ocarina of time. Goldeneye 007. Mario Kart/World. That is why N64 > psx. Yea thats right, i didnt capitalize psx, big whoop..wanna fight about it?

  • My favorite console is the Wii - mainly because of the downloadable content you get with it, plus games like Super Mairo Galaxy 2.

  • NES ROCKS SO 1# screwed ign duck hunt Contra Super mario mega man punch out re all classic's

  • YOUR VIDEO SUCKS

  • Thank you Goochang! The Best TOP of all Time!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SNES & PS1 are my favourite consoles ever!thank you guys!

  • I spy shit pickle.

  • NES for ever!most of my all time fafourite games are on NES,and that thing is tough,my PS-2 is about 6 years old and its barely working but my NES is 20 years old and works really well!NES you stole my heart!

  • What the heck is that at 6:25? It's Mario, I'm sure of that, but I've never seen that animation of it like that.

  • The PC is the greatest gaming console.

  • GoochandTheDooshebag

thank you so much!this is seriously the best list i ever encountered!

  • xbox 360 is full of shit & it has the red ring of death

wii has a very weak library

ps3 is the pinnacle of interactive movies, it has nothing to do with video gaming-epic fail!& they are full of violence & shit...

  • wii, xbox 360 & ps3 suck!

nes is the greatest!it created all these uber legendary series:mario, metroid, zelda, castlevania, mega man etc all the other consoles primarily made only sequels.

& all the nes games are 100% exclusive, you couldnt find them in another place.for example, snes has some games that are multiplatform:doom wofl3d, earthworm jim, bubsy etc

  • @ningeaBLADEclanuBECA The wii does not suck

  • jaguar is ook

  • Db and the gooch Wii sports is the best selling game of all time.

  • i am a sega fanboy but ps2 was the greatest ever

  • i think Atari Jaguar is #1 worst

  • @rescuehero942 if it had not been for the NES, the Atari would not be worth shit!

  • you used footage from super mario frustration. and sure the NES had alot of crap but IT SAVED VIDEO GAMES FOREVER!!!!!!!! i have a 2 wiis a few DS,s and game boy and 4 game boy advance SPs. a gamecube. and im trading them all in (exept 1 of the wiis and a DS) for a XBOX!!!!!!!

  • Ugh, the lie of the "video game crash" makes me laugh. It was a crash in HOME CONSOLES. However, arcade gaming was still live and kicking.

  • Yes, if the Wii sucks, then why is it the best selling system of this generation? Also, here is how I see the console wars:

They are all equal, they all have their pros and cons, their is no such thing as a perfect system.

Besides, Wii as the biggest disapointment? Look at the Virtual Boy (also made by Nintendo).

  • So the Famicom wasn't ONLY in japan o.o

    I thought it was...

    hmm, fun facts :P

  • the best commercial ever made lol

  • @ald010102030405 ps3 swallows chokes and likes it

  • @ald010102030405 How come? It doesn't suck, but the PS3 is better.

  • @ald010102030405 BECAUSE YOUR A BOT

  • it didnt do anything for the video game industry, the 36 is fun but it didnt do anything revolutionary

  • nether did the sega saturn lol, but its in their.

  • also it would be unfair to put the 360 on their list and not put on the ps3 and if they put one in front of the other their would be a flame war

  • PHANBOEH!!!

  • lol

  • What song is playing at 2:32?

  • you gave away number 1 on the worst

  • what game is it at 6:18

  • Devil World, I guess. It shows the title screen for like half a second.

  • I have alot of Roms on my SNES and NES Emulator that it turns me on I have Mario and Zelda and all the good games on both of the SNES and NES

  • where is the top 5 worst console list?

  • Super Mario Bros. is now no longer the best-selling game of all time. It has recently been outsold by Wii Sports.

  • Haha if only i was a kid in the NES era...

  • The NES was awesome but IMO the SNES was better, though I appreciate the things it did for the game industry and it was still a great system.

  • The begining made me think WTF when I saw the Atari Jaguar. But then when you showed the NES I was felt atleast it wasn't a joke.
