BTW, to unlock them, you simply need to beat Easy (for Brownie) and Normal (for Plisskin). Hard unlocks Nightmare mode.

Shotgun in Contra... I see it's one of the strongest weapons in the series indeed. I always loved them, and even though Neo Contra was my start for keeps, the shotgun was the first weapon which allowed me and Bill Rizer to progress even for a beginner. :)

amazing run and I'm not gonna critise on your deaths some of the cheap deaths are hard to dodge due to random attacks. I mostly use that red guy (I think he is japanesse) or plissken.

It's actually really good. Don't judge games based on how they look. Try playing them, you'll be surprised.

This version is actually quite dumbed down from recent Contra entries, the difficulty has been toned down quite a bit. Even on Nightmare (already beat it) you get infinite credits.

Unless you challenge yourself to do a single life run, there's not much more challenge than that.

One qualm is the sever lack of innovation on the bosses. Also, they actually made the laser rifle GOOD.

Agreed - laser (in a 1P instance) is actually a really decent weapon. However, for 2P, spamming spread with both players is still better.

I also agree that this is toned down a bit on difficulty. Contra 4 puts this game to shame on difficulty, but I think this game is at a much more "reasonable" level. My opinion, though.

mmm i can't agree. Sorry but the only really thing from contra that is in this game is Bill. I feel they strayed away from the Contra series. If they got rid of Bill, the wall, those crustacion creatures, and the red falcon, and the guns they could've called it something else. It's to bright and colorful and doesn't really seem like they played the originals.
