I take it and it helps me with my nerve damage better than anything else. I am very careful with it, because I don't want to die and I don't want my tolerance built up. Anyone who takes medicine for long, will be addicted. Your body won't function right without it. I believe if you are a responsible person, that u can have success with this. Only take what you need and NEVER take more than your doctor says to,

methadone works great through the first two weeks of stopping the hard detox. after the first day i was ready to check out and go home. but i stuck it out and once the methadone was stopped i started back on my pain meds due to pain. this last time i used suboxone and it worked far better than methadone and i only used it for the first two weeks then quit it also. you can feel it just cutting back one miligram a day. its that strong. so dont get addicted to suboxone also. good luck

they have come out with the new form of oxycontin this month. so that people cannot abuse it unless they just chew it up and swallow it. the days of shooting up and snorting and smoking it is passed. so now even just swallowing it people with a high tolerance and are used to injecting it are going through detox with the new form. we need more programs like this or suboxone to use instead of people going to heroin to keep from getting sick. thanks and godbless.

I was on methadone it was just a substitution for the morphine i was injecting. I did not know how i was ever going to get off the garbage. I found a faith based program called reformers unanimous . I give all the glory to God .

It's tougher when a couple is on methadone because if they both try to get off, I or more will probably fail. Stay clean off of other drugs and lower your dose and stay in touch. You can do it if you want to and there'r no time limit on detox.

I believe that heroin or opium maintenance is a better treatment, they could used the drugs seized in afganistan and licence the farmers there and buy off them to take it away from the drufg barons, the farmers would face no risk so they wouldnt sell to barons, even if we get an opium mountain, here u can get diamorphine maintenance in some cases or dipepanone, but morphine etc is better as the short detox is preferable.

what is ur opinion on naltrexone detox.

I could detox cold turkey and be a good mom so i thought this was the answer. Im driving 40miles round trip 4 days awk so go and my husband is on it too and smokes weed so he doesnt get takehomes and i do so he only doses on the days i go (3) and then he goes on sat. I hope u keep making these and helpin us all that need pointers cuz im desperate for any advice. I thought it was a godsend when i started but now its liquid handcuffs!! take care and thank u.

you are so very right what your saying. I myself had a bad addiction to tylenol 4, vics and soma for 9 yrs then for a yr started snorting heroin and oxy's and I so much wish now i would have tried other options cuz yes i now have a worse habit and i have been on mmt for 4 yrs now and am detoxing 2mg a wk im on 88 now and yes they let anyone on and pretty much let u go high as u want. It is only for the bad off and no other options. i have 3 kids with no help so i thought this was it.

I also craved suger all the time.Pain pills have natural opiates in them. Methadone is all man made chemicals. That is why it stays in your body so long. Methadone gets stuck in you bone marrow, fatty tissue. That is why it takes so long for the withdrawls (3 months for some). They fail to tell you this stuff at th clinic.If i knew now back then i would have never taken that first dose. Methadone helps in drastic situations but not just to get off pain pills.Please do the research before u go.

thank sir, i was up to 75mgs each dose but now im coming off 3mgs, every two weeks im down to 57mgs now. im gonna try my best to be off by christmas time. im wondering how it will be when iget down really low??? how did you do it? blind taper??

It sounds like you had a pretty serious problem and are a good canidate for the program. I wish you all best in your treatment

Itook OxyCotin .... alot , 240 mgs daily for 2years and after i hit rock bottom and was resorting to crime i turned to methadone. that was almost a year ago. do you think i should nt be on methadone?
