  • what is the cheapest remote for ipod touch

  • Any idea why I keep having to reset my router every time I want to use the app? I can get it to work successfully, but then eventually iTunes stops responding to the ipod...I have to pair it again and enter a new pin and then reset my router....any idea?

  • Really good but you must be so lucky to have a apple tv apple mac book and so on.

  • got this app but on my phone it just keeps telling me its searching for lib my laptop is on tho ?

  • @leytsdavies121 i got it now you have to have your itunes on b4 you can use the remote kinda spoils it for me tho! coz if i was upstairs i wd have to come dwn click on itunes just to make remote work ! it be great if it turned itunes on aswell or is that really lazy of me lol

  • You have a pretty investment there ;)

But in order to work, you have t have a complete entertainment system (sound, tv, apple tv, iphone and wireless internet). The signal of the iphone is received by wireless, is it right?

I thought it worked with bluetooth... Thanks for your time and your vid ;)

  • @JonasFilipe9 Your correct, the control of it all is based on your WiFi

  • @GeekwGlasseslive I'm trying it now. Unfortunately I don't have an Apple TV :( but I'm using my computer and it works pretty well :) it's amazing. I usually have my speakers connected to the computer and now I can control the music when I'm cooking for example ;) really nice. Thanks again man!

  • @JonasFilipe9 Awesome!! I do the same thing! Music is a must while cooking!!

  • @GeekwGlasseslive Great! I see you're an Apple Fan ;) They do quite a good work... Where are you from? (if you don't mind to tell of course). I'm a big fan of tech too, in fact I study electronic engeneering :)

  • How did you get the speakers button pop up on the iPhone?

  • @TheVik3n Its when you have your iPhone synced up with your itunes lib for remote control with the remote app.

  • @Legoslack hey thanks it works now!

  • can someone tell me what apple tv basically is?

  • @zunelucero Apple TV is a settop box that connects to your home entertainment system and allows you to stream content from places like Youtube, Netflix and the iTunes library as well as media from your home media library. You can also rent movies from iTunes as well both HD and SD.

  • Awesome vid but i just have one question

how do you add an itunes library on the app remote

it gives a passcode but it says open your ipod on itunes

    thats al it says

    can someone PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE

    HHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP

  • @pakiflya38 you need to enable home sharing on itunes under Advanced..

type your password click click.. DONE

after that there should be a new icon on the left column, type the password that its showing on your device and voila =)

and if you don't happen to see the new icon (like it happened to me) go to EDIT>PREFERENCES> under the "sharing" tab check "share my library..."

then under the "devices" tab check " look for iphod touch, iphone.."

  • yea i paired it up and everything but it still isnt showing up

  • i am on firmware 4.2.1 on an ipod touch and have itunes 10. when i connect my ipod to itunes and run remote, nothing showes up in the devices list. any help?

  • @kitward24 Have you paired it up...when you launch the remote app on your device and are on the same network as your computer you will see a "remote" icon show up in your iTunes, you then have to pair that remote with iTunes.

  • please help. i try to connect the remote with the correct password, but it tells me that i have entered the incorrect password.

  • @NitrosKB Hmm...have you tried to reset you apple TV?

  • @NitrosKB I shared your problem. To solve it follow these steps: 1) Open itunes 2) Click the "Edit" tab and select "Preferences" 3) Click the "sharing" tab 4) Click "Share my library on my local network" 5) Then select what you want to share (I selected "Share entire library") 6) Note i did NOT tick the "Require password" box 7) Now click the "Devices" tab 8) Tick the box which says "Allow iTunes control from remote speakers" 9) Click "OK" Start the app, enter the password, and enjoy :-)
  • You may also need to turn on "Home Sharing" within the app too.

However I have recently turned home sharing off both on iTunes and in the app on my phone and the remote is still working.

  • I recenty downloaded this app, and for some reason I don't get the control window as seen in your video. Additionally, I don't get the control menu button. Any thoughts? I have a jailbroken g1 iPhone.

  • What version of the Remote app do you have? I am running 1.3.1. You can get to version number buy going to settings within the app itself. The "swipe" control was not in the initial release of the app so if your not using the most current that could be the reason why. What OS are you running on your iPhone first gen!?

  • I'm running 3.0 on my 1g phone and have release 1.3.1 of the remote app. I've even tried reinstalling but still get the same screen.

  • I am assuming you are trying to control an Apple TV? Have you done the updates to the Apple TV in a while? There have been a few firmware updates in the past two months or so.

  • I have not, because I have it hacked to run hulu, etc. But what would that have to do with the app? I'm not seeing the same screens that you do, which should appear regardless of what firmware I'm running on my ATV, I'd think.

  • Ah...indeed however we are talking about apple here! My app has been 1.3.1 for a while now...then all of a sudden when I updated my ATV the next time I launched the app bamn I had a new option for control. That tells me the remote app and ATV are talking to one another in the background and when the app knew the ATV had the most current firmware that supported touch gestures it "unlocks" hidden features of the app. ;) The magic of apple! LOL
