Yes I know it si hard to find left handed electric guitars, especially sunburst cherry copy of les paul ;) I am looking for exactly the same guitar you have! :)) One additional question,if I am not bothering too much. Could you tell me please, how much of music theory is there to be learnt? I can see straight away that you are familiar with jazz chord progressions and scales. And it is obvious from the style of your playing that your awsome guitar player with experience. Greetings from Croatia!
@MrNightrain22 Wow, thank you very much! :) I'm somewhat experienced, but I only know a little bit of music theory (but I'm trying to learn new things everyday). In most cases and musical styles, I think it's fair enough if you know the triad chords and seventh chords. Plus the major and minor scale, although I don't really use them, I use the most common of the blues pentatonic scales instead. I play jazz here, but I play funk/rock/blues more often.
@MrNightrain22 So bottom line: the basic and advanced chords (if you don't want to learn them theoretically, just learn them "physically", so your "fingers" will know the chord diagram) + blues pentatonic scale + maybe major scale. Oh and the musical keys. With this, you will be good in every mainstream music, although you might have minor difficulties in improvisation (if you run into a complicated chord in the rhythm section) :D
Certainly, it's an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top; color: heritage cherry sunburst. Right and left handed available. If you contact a somewhat serious instrument shop, they can order it for you (maybe they even have it in stock, if you need the right handed model). I had to order it from Germany through a music store here in Hungary, but that's just because I'm lefty, and they didn't have it in stock. :)
It's fine...not the best, but it's good for its price. And you can make it sound much smooth if you use a wah pedal, and just simply open it up. It becomes more "vintage" or "Gibson like". I don't really know how to describe that sound, but if you check it out, you'll know what I'm talking about. :)
maaan awsooome ! ... i'm from brazil .. and I had the dificult for being lefty .. so i learned to play on righty ... so it's good to find someone who have the same "hability" xD
If it's an Epiphone, than it's an Epiphone. XD I think epi is a branch of Gibson now, but long ago the two of them were different competing companies. :)
thanks! yeah, i had to adjust the intonation and the truss rod, and maybe tighten the *screws* on the head (at the tuning keys - sry, english is not my main language, so i don't know the proper name for that)
but after that, it sounds pretty good. and i just realized if you use a wah, and open it all up, it sounds much like a gibson somehow.
could you recommend that guitar or should i go for the epiphone sg? i play almost any genre but mostly blues and rock so if i should choose between em would you say that lp is best? and if so would it be smart to get some new pick-ups for it? :)
Well, I think you should definitely buy the les paul, but it's important to buy the "les paul standard plus top"-model, cuz' somehow it sounds better. The pickups are pretty good, so if you want to buy new ones, I'd recommend Seymour duncans (APH-1; or SH-1) or Gibsons of course. :)
But they're fine altogether, only needs some adjust (intonation, truss-rod adjust sometimes), which can be done in any instrument store.
It was about 600 USD, that's the lowest current price for this guitar, here in Hungary. I've heard the manufacturing has stopped recently, so there's only a limited stock. But don't worry, I think there's still a plenty of them. :D
hey im a lefty too and i just got the les paul standard epiphone in the mail today and its awesome! The way it plays is amazing and warm as you have shown here. Good job :D
Well, you could never know...this one I use it's a 30W small Regent R221 combo amp, and it sounds really warm and nice. But I've had other Vermona amps and cabinets, and they were awful...
I only borrowed this baby though...my primary amp is a Career combo 65W...not a big stuff, bt that sounds fine, too. :)

AllarisFianna 2 years ago
very weird. why do you choose to be handicapped?
BazzTheBoss 2 years ago
I dont choose to be handicapped my right hand is like 10 times faster than my left. It only makes sense to me.
BCT3496 2 years ago
by watching you play, whats the first chord you strum from the d string?
mecha890 3 years ago
It's a C7(#5)/Bb.
AllarisFianna 3 years ago
Thanks for posting. I've been wondering if an Epi LP would sound good for jazz.... this sounds very nice indeed.

Once I tried a custom les paul by Gibson, and it was about 7 or 8 kgs...imagine playing one and a half hour, standing with that baby!! XD
AllarisFianna 3 years ago
can you tell me anything about the weight of the guitar? i've heard they're kinda heavy
BazzTheBoss 3 years ago
It's about 4 kilograms. But Gibson les pauls are still more heavier then their "cousins". :)
AllarisFianna 3 years ago
nice clean sound! i'm going to buy this guitar too, i have another guitar, the single coil pickups sound great but humbucker gets too crunchy :O
BazzTheBoss 3 years ago
Oh, yeah...sorry, I said without effects, but I used some reverb. :):):)
I meant overdrive or distortion as effect, but you're right. :)
AllarisFianna 3 years ago

Reply to: "Isn't there a pickguard?"
Yes, there was, but I removed it, so it looks more like a standard. :)
(Sorry, but I accidentally removed your comment)
