12 billion dollars for a pipe in the floor, Some silos and a few docks ? Chavez`s is right that it`s Venezuela`s oil, Exxon didn`t put the oil in the ground, They were paid to extract the oil, And no doubt they have been well paid to do so, But, The idea that they get paid back for all the infrastructure on the basis of loss of future trade, Only holds only so much weight, Some return on industry investment maybe, But, No obscene profit on trade they haven`t done, They knew the risk
Chavez's only mistake is comparing Exxon to Hitler. Hitler would do the same as Chavez, if fact Hitler, did what Che, Castro, Chavez are you to do,give his country the highest living standard in the world
Chavez did not kill one million people for oil with lies, nor 3000 nuclear weapons pointing to every nation in the world, nor investing 700 billion dollars per year on military expenditures, nor intelligent service agencies sending mails with Anthrax Virus to its own population, nor Kings on its constitution, nor Nazi retarded on CNN or FOX news, nor 13 trillion dollars debt.

we 3rd world countries are rich in resources, you just steal it to pay your trillions in debt to China, but not more stealing from you. Just because you have a car, a playstation and a house (all in debt of course) does not mean you are rich...got that?? turn off your ps3 (from Japan) and read reality.
he knows how to play!!! have you seen US doing something to remove him??, he has said no drop of petroleum if US interferes in Venezuela. He still is in chair!!!
Why doesn't USA do any embargo to CHINA even though China is communism?? because US owes trillions and soon zillions!!! are u getting the picture? this is not a game, this is politics.
@juliustx ...you need to get up to speed on current events...
Venezuela crude production is dropping and the US Market consumer use of Chuv-ass Oil has dropped from 50% to 10. He just debased his currency by 50% and threated Death to Food Import price increasers...there eating our wheet.
Although Colombia is a net oil exporter, it must import refined fuel for domestic use. There gas demand outstrips production capacity In 2008.
Guess were they get there gas from...come on...guess
@ubuibiok learn to spell idiot. your comment made no sense.... US policy towards chavez is about $. Chavez is nationalizing venezual natural resource and industry.he is fucking with American business interests. th eUS doesnt care about democracy and the venezuelan people only their own $ and interests.chavez has done much good for his people.he is beloved in venezuela bc he has decreased the gap btwn rich and poor, increASED min wage and killed illiteracy.get lost

@ubuibiok How Chavez handles his countrys oil is of no interest or consequence to me. The US policy toward Venezuela is based on Chavez regime's decision to nationalize resources in 07 and screw over american mnc's, shareholdrs & investors. Let Exxon go after him-thats their right. Just leave me out of it
I can already see that we are dealing with some uneducated person. You have no knowledge og the oil industry. I live in America and proud Venezuelan and I am happy EXXON is out. Trying to freeze our funds in european banks...aah go try..they failed. There are other oil and gas integrated companies that are welcome in my homecountry. Its not about socialism is about oil being a scarce, finite and non-renewable resource. Try to be more humble..there is no need to be calling people spicks..
Like Cuba hahaha you can´t do that you need our oil...and you should ge out of Bush before talk. Only a ignorant asshole can defend Exxon...a jungle you think hahaha but if you don´t even how many sides have a triangule! haha don´t beliave me? watch this video watch?v=v2U_KRpz5NY and this jungle produces oxygen that you breath and the ozone that protect you of the sun.
thats fine, but why are your responding to my post and accusing me of calling the democrats the party of peace? if you are going to respond and throw around insults, the least you can do is read at least one complete sentence. i said that it was a stereotype that the dems are seen as a party of peace; if you look at their policies, it is clear just as aggressive as the republicans. you seem to have only seen the last 5 words of my post and decided to begin insulting me based on that.
i was contesting your wild accusations that the US has no responsibility for illegally invading a country that resulted in the deaths of over a million and your statements regarding international law and UN sanctions. if you are not interested in talking about these issues in an honest and calm manner, then our talk is pointless.
did you even read my comment? i was saying the democrats were not a "party of peace". whats the connection between iraq and 911? do you even care? look at the record for the time period, iraq had complied with the sanctions and the US was vetoing the UN's move to take iraq off of the sanctions because they complied. if violating international law gives a person the right to kill millions in the violating country, then your saying all countries have the right to kill americans.
clinton was aggressively attacking and killing innocents; that is one of the reasons that lead to the escalation of threats.he bombed infrastructure in iraq and blocked the ending of sanctions that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of iraqis; a large percentage of them children.he was also involved with other bombings. i suggest you go back and re-examine the clinton era with a critical view. do not accept the stereotype that democrats are a party of peace.
Chavez will keep selling his oil to the US like the bitch-whore that he is. He can scream and yell all he wants about the empire. But he will keep selling it... I'm sure that is why Bush does not say much about him... Chavez.. Mr Monkey is just a pimple on Mr Danger's ass.
yeah, the "big stick" has worked well huh.... are you saying that hatred for the US just appears out of nowhere? the "big stick" can only lead to more escalation. the US cavemen swinging its big club in order to get what it wants can only lead increasing death and suffering in the US and abroad.
It's not that simple. 50-52% of the corporate profits goes to Ordinary American Shareholders, only 1% of the profits goes to the businessmen, and mutual funds, bonds, government programs, and corporate taxes. The Monkeys ( clinton and obama) want to take away some of the profits of Exxon, but in reality they'll be taking it away from Americans not businessmen and CEOs
funny how the United States was pumping millions into the Venezualen economy long before oil became a factor to them, politicians are all the same no matter what country you are from, get the masses behind you by telling them a lie long enough, and they will eventually believe you.
I said a year ago or so, This Chavez is bi-polar and a very dangerous despot. Look at his people suffering from food shortages. A rich country he owns PDVESA (petroleum industry) What's wrong with this picture? And now the idiot wants war with Colombia.
Chavez is a true idiot. First off he sends his soliders (la FARC) into colombia to fight the government. Then as colombia starts to attack back he acts like a 5 year old in a trantum, removes the embassy in bogota and claims that if colombia attacks venezuela there will be war, yet the idiot has been fighting a war against colombia for years now.
It's time the USA banned the use of heavy crude in the USA.
The other oil companies, made a deal, exxon said,no to the deal. Here in US,the large companies, have a group of people called lobbyist. The lobbyist, are mostly in Washington, and they tell the politicians, who take there money, what to do.The more money companies give to politicans, the more power they can exert around the world,it's called capitalism.I think Mr.Chavez, will win this fight,by losing the court fight, yes the loser becomes, the real winner.
Chavez is one smart man!! he is doing what simon bolivar wanted to do. Unite ALL OF LATIN AMERICAN! stop the imperialist from taking over. they have done it for far too long!! IF the CIA kills CHAVEZ u can expect WW3 to happen. To many people around the world are chavez supporters!! Especially in LATIN AMERICA AND EUROPE
CIA dont have to, Chavez got millions of ppl inside Venezuela that wants to kill him ^^ .
WW3 will be who against the US? Europe, i dont think Venezuela will have many friends...perhaps Russia,Serbia and maybe China (bunch of weak countries) because Europe will join the winner team like they always do :D
and is not a surprise if China and Russia pick US side that would be funny.
personally.. keep your oil in your country if it was up to me, its not ours to begin with. we will be drilling for more soon enough, and then your presidente can argue with the chinese, or whomever. everyone will be happy.
we can all go on with our lives and put this behind us, see? problem solved!
Venezuelan oil is the worst quality. It is full of sulfur and is bad for the environment. The USA should ban the use of heavy crude and the world should follow.
holy smokes he did it? he had english taken out of everyday life over there? whats next?no private ownership of land? oh that sright he wants communism over there.. me bad...
suporting openly kidnapping, drug smugling and killing innocent ppl. Whats next? Obviously you have no family members victims of the colombian's guerrillas.
How can Venzs be so blind? He talks shit make enemies and keep his followers busy blaming every shit in the world US's fault. Remember someone have to buy your oil if not americans then europe or china idk.....and i dont care. Good luck with Chavez im for cutting relations with Venz tomorrow, some ppl need to learn the hard way.
doesnt Chavez remind you of that assclown Benito Mussoulini?? For one, it would be the end of his reign as a leader if he shut off America's oil, (overthrown), and their economy would go down the tube quicker than water. He likes to parade around like a third world dictator, throwing hissy fits like a grade school child. All he wants to do is to remain in power at his country's cost. I personally have nothing against the Venezualan people, its the leader who acts like a shmuck. Grow up.
man im venezuelan, please pardon my poor englysh, you cant compare chavez whit mussolini beacuse we live in democracy, i know the internacional tv is against chavez but even say hes a dictatorchip thats not true, or how you think people write so many disrespet shit about him, and i mean rish venezuelan people even saing they gona kill hem, if they do the same in USA about bush what hapen?? i dont think in America bush would be so tolerant, about the oil we can sell to any country we want.
yeah maybe i was wrong comparing him to mussolini..personally have nothing against you or your people, actually like watching vid's of Venezuala and the culture there. AQs far as threats against Bush, of course the secret service deals with that garbage, i really had no idea that people in your own country thought about killing him..hey..its all politics, apparently our leaders think they speak for the people, and thats the final word. anyway, we would do fine if the oil was shut off.
yeah i think USA is the most powerfull country in the world they would do fine if we stop send you oil, but tahts a think i dont want, that comercial relacion is benefisius for the 2 countrys but only if is a relacion whit iquality, exxon did abuse and steal venezuelan oil but that has nothing to be whit USA people thats is a great people, anyway if the we stop send them oil we wil be fine to will not be easy but countrys like China and Russia are possible markets
sucks being pawns huh..the world would be alot better if everyone just got along. its all about the almighty money, screw the person next to you and benefit from it, oil companies prey on everyone, suck you in by lowering the prices compared to other companies, then hook you. guess thats the way of the world. I hope all this just goes away, but i doubt it, prices will keep rising, hurting everyone, the person who has to heat their house to keep their family warm and so on..
hey is not only oil companies, any good business works the same way, thats how you get big profits. If you were in their shoes you would do the same, after all everyone loves money. Hell im sure i would, if you are not happy buy somewhere else.

You are also right; but fair enough Chavez is just a bad communist joke: How many Hummers, Audi and Mercedes are driven by chavistas.? Where is a decent hospital in Venezuela? Very funny! "Barrio Adentro" I Supposed .- Luis Tascón works for the CIA.. What?? Simón Bolivar was poisoned? What?
.- "no more; Niños de la Calle" .. Jesus Christ!! Now they are juggling on the street..I can´t keep it any longer.. very Ironic, sad and HILARIOUS :C
Health Insurance Companies have been getting the highest income of all time, why?
A: Because Public services don´t work.
The higher the oil prices; the higher the social expenditure and corruption, this is the equation in this country, by the way check out the red cap on the dashboard. what a left wing people we have... !
You are absolutely right.!! Chavez is a total clown, a very obscure pseudo president, an appalling pity for Venezuela but without any similarity to Mussolini by the way; I believe there must be an open door in time; This Chavez presumably came from the 18th century.
Ironic Anachronism of destiny, very very sad.. Help us lord!!! :C
The US has one of the few oil refineries that can process Venezuela's type of oil, so it's all talk. If he wants to keep up with his spending he needs our oil refineries.
I don't like Chavez at all but, you are a little wrong there.
Venezuela has the largest conventional Oil Reserves in the Western Hemisphere (HALF OF IT or 77.5 billion barrels). This oil is easy to refine just like any other Oil. (No need for the US here).
Now, I think you where talking about the bitumen which Venezuela has the biggest reserve in the world (235 billion barrels). PDVSA can proses this type of oil but maybe not in the same volume as the USA does.
PUTA DESGRACIADA VENDEPATRIA! PUDRETE PUTA!!
The person that made all these posts is an idiot. Chavez is being attacked and undermined by global corporations. He is not purposely screwing over and starving his people. He has done numerous good works for his people and was democratically elected.
you´re so fake. Chavez was elected by vote just after he took the power by arms. Is just a mad dictator like Castro. He gives support to the colombian terrorist and killers of FARC, meanwhile the people of Venezuela makes lines just to buy milk or bread.
Yes, Hugo the man. Ever see the Milk Riots going on last week in Venezuela? All those poor people rioting because Hugo has socialized everything so supplies are rationed and now people can't get milk! What a complete asshole hugo is! Cutting off his own people!! Hugo can go fuck himself. Someone cut his throat. Rid the world of this prick! Viva Revolucion!!!! No more communist imperialism!!
the only thing obama is going to change is half of the race of the person in the white house. his idea of social services to the middle class is a annual 500 tax cut. his foreign policy is virtually indistinguishable from bush.
go to his website and read his policy towards the middle east. he is acting like bush's parrot; he talks about continuing the war on terror, how iran is the biggest threat to the region that needs to be stopped, while israel is a valued friend that can do no wrong. he does say that he will talk to iran in negotiation, but with those pre-concieved notions it is hard to image the negotiations to be much more than polite threats and cordial calls to give up independence.
If you think they're the same then you're mistaken, every politician that wants to make it in US politics has to support Israel. He is the least supportive of Israel which is hard when many Jews, and others still think hes a Muslim.
they are not exactly the same, but close enough not to make a difference. i am certainly not endorsing republicans and agree with the ideals that many obama supporters do, but people should not buy into the media hype and think this man is going to bring about change.
obama is a proven apologist for the bush administration by denouncing people as "radical" for speaking up against funding the war and occupation. he has also supported, and still supports, the destruction of social services, tax cuts for the rich, continuing and expanding the war on terror, and supporting an permanent occupation of iraq.
for obama to be considered a "democract" only goes to show the right wing nature of the party, mainly because of people like obama who have chose to accept and apologize for bush's policies in order to make a political career. this disgusting accomodation is the reason obama is so popular among rich voters and republicans. the things he will get done are in essence bush policies with toned down rhetoric.
this is not what people are voting for. people who vote democrat are generally anti-war, pro-peace, support social services, and believe that wealth should not be further redistributed towards the rich in society. these are good ideals, the problem is that clinton, obama, and not even edwards, do not stand for them.
the candidates that did stand for them, gravel, kucininch, green party, get blacklisted from the media. these candidates have made it in US politics through democratic support of the people, not media/corporate sponsorhip; they do not blindly favor israel and would not offer a blank check for their aggression. rather than vote for the politicians who would take us away from the path of destruction this country is on, people let their media masters tell them who is "electable".
to accept obama as the lesser evil because he is electable betrays all the virtuous ideals many democratic supporters believe in and are voting for. this hands US democracy to companies who fund candidates, politicians, and own the media. the media has it so twisted around that people actually believe obama stands for ideals that his policies contradict.
obama gives a blind check to fund israeli aggression, just as bush did; in this respect they are the same. he supports permanent occupation and continued funding of the way; in this respect he is being led by bush "war on terror" policies on a leash. he supports erosion of social services and increasing the profit-ownership of social services by giant companies.he supports annual tax cuts to make up for these losses that would not even pay a months living expenses for a middle/lower class person
oh yeah i forgot; obama wants to get iran to give up its independence in order to get WTO membership! he wants to offer the very thing the iranian revolution sought to expel, foreign exploitation and imperialism.
I think Chavez should learn form what happened in Iran, Iraq, and the Middle East. He should follow the Chinese example for how to deal with the US. China achieved good portion of its goals and US can not do anything about it.
In 1953 President Eisenhower authorized Operation Ajax in which the elected Iranian Prime Minister Mossadegh was removed from power and arrested in favor of US alley Reza Pahlavi. Mossadegh only mistake was the nationalization Iran oil reserves.
and how was china different? they nationalized all of their resources after maoist revolution, without giving concessions. the only difference is that an invasion would have been too costly; instead the US helped japan gain its WWII goals: domination of the asian sphere.
China of the 1950's is a terrible example, considering the Great Leap forward killed millions. Moreover, the thing in Iran was due to British constantly saying that the elected prime minister was Marxist, and thus the CIA helped in the overthrow. Both sides in the Cold War did these tactics
nevertheless, the revolution allowed china to have ultimate control over its markets and did succeed in liberating the chinese economy from imperialism; mainly because it was not a small defenseless country that could be invaded.
im also not endorsing all of mao's policies in implementing the ethics of socialism; in fact, i think some of his measures were too heavy handed to work; you cannot force people to believe something. i was just pointing out the fact that it was the revolution and the independence it brought that allows china to control its economy, and markets, today.
many people in the west seem to only blame maos brutal and flawed policies while ignoring the wars and isolation imposed on china from the west during that period, which affected chinese policy and success greatly. the country did not exist in a bubble and was facing tremendous pressure from all sides by western forces (japan, korea, vietnam, taiwan, etc.). the US was using all its capabilities to isolate china. there was still drastic improvement in the living conditions of chinese.
it has been nationalized, and has faced the same isolation/aggression tactics that were used against vietnam, china, north korea, cuba, nicaragua, chile, guatemala, hati, etc. etc. etc. these are consequences of the US system trying to enforce its control, not nationalization as an effective way to promote growth and provide for the people of the country.
actually, nationalization is the way. The oil belongs to the country, just because a bully jumps in and makes things difficult for you does not mean you have to give up what's rightfuly yours. I despise the Iranian regime, I had to leave the country because of them, but on this issue, they have every right. US regime is a bully, and some people tend to stand up for themselves.
i agree and have respect for the iranian regime for taking the stand they took. i may not agree with every one of their policies, but i respect the room and need for diversity in this world in order for humans to learn, grow, and cooperate. the fact is that since the revolution, democracy in iran has been increasing; it is still a young nation and has faced tremendous obstacles of subversion by means of war and interference in its internal affairs by foreign powers, but has overcome them all.
Yes! Rationing produce, milk, and meat is the way to go!1 Hugo, continue to starve your people for socialism!! Be a complete asshole Hugo!! Continue to drive your countries inflation rate thru the roof! Drive companies out of Venezuela Hugo! You're the best Hugo!! Rebel Hugo! Drive capital out of Venezuela and then feed the people with your fake money. Rebel, you are an ass and you are stupid.
Perhaps, instead of watching YouTube, you should watch the news reports coming out of Venezuela via AP and Reuters. Lines for milk. Milk price skyrockets: inflation. Hey asswipe. Go suck Karl's dong. I think its dry again.
Good for Chavez, nationalizing Venezuela's oil. As soon as Bush got a hold of Iraq, L. Paul Bremer issued Order 39 which allows businesses to be privatize and all profits moved out of the country. 'We' are now building a Mosul oil pipeline to Haifa in Israel. Chavez better hold on to that oil and not let *any* one privately control it because it can be sold.
The King of Bahrain is the founder and CEO of Al Jazeera. All the US can do is bomb their offices and kill their journalists in retaliation of Al Jazeera not reporting the fascist propaganda the US want broadcast.

Try to be more humble..there is no need to be calling people spicks..

thats fine, but why are your responding to my post and accusing me of calling the democrats the party of peace? if you are going to respond and throw around insults, the least you can do is read at least one complete sentence. i said that it was a stereotype that the dems are seen as a party of peace; if you look at their policies, it is clear just as aggressive as the republicans. you seem to have only seen the last 5 words of my post and decided to begin insulting me based on that.

i was contesting your wild accusations that the US has no responsibility for illegally invading a country that resulted in the deaths of over a million and your statements regarding international law and UN sanctions. if you are not interested in talking about these issues in an honest and calm manner, then our talk is pointless.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
fair enough. just dont pretend like you are serious about stating a point then.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
did you even read my comment? i was saying the democrats were not a "party of peace". whats the connection between iraq and 911? do you even care? look at the record for the time period, iraq had complied with the sanctions and the US was vetoing the UN's move to take iraq off of the sanctions because they complied. if violating international law gives a person the right to kill millions in the violating country, then your saying all countries have the right to kill americans.

clinton was aggressively attacking and killing innocents; that is one of the reasons that lead to the escalation of threats.he bombed infrastructure in iraq and blocked the ending of sanctions that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of iraqis; a large percentage of them children.he was also involved with other bombings. i suggest you go back and re-examine the clinton era with a critical view. do not accept the stereotype that democrats are a party of peace.

95 billion in profit for Exxon this year. We should take it and pay for the Iraq war.
ProjectM555 3 years ago 2
It's not that simple. 50-52% of the corporate profits goes to Ordinary American Shareholders, only 1% of the profits goes to the businessmen, and mutual funds, bonds, government programs, and corporate taxes. The Monkeys ( clinton and obama) want to take away some of the profits of Exxon, but in reality they'll be taking it away from Americans not businessmen and CEOs

doesnt Chavez remind you of that assclown Benito Mussoulini?? For one, it would be the end of his reign as a leader if he shut off America's oil, (overthrown), and their economy would go down the tube quicker than water. He likes to parade around like a third world dictator, throwing hissy fits like a grade school child. All he wants to do is to remain in power at his country's cost. I personally have nothing against the Venezualan people, its the leader who acts like a shmuck. Grow up.
custardpie40 3 years ago
man im venezuelan, please pardon my poor englysh, you cant compare chavez whit mussolini beacuse we live in democracy, i know the internacional tv is against chavez but even say hes a dictatorchip thats not true, or how you think people write so many disrespet shit about him, and i mean rish venezuelan people even saing they gona kill hem, if they do the same in USA about bush what hapen?? i dont think in America bush would be so tolerant, about the oil we can sell to any country we want.
elcangricriollohacha 3 years ago 2
yeah maybe i was wrong comparing him to mussolini..personally have nothing against you or your people, actually like watching vid's of Venezuala and the culture there. AQs far as threats against Bush, of course the secret service deals with that garbage, i really had no idea that people in your own country thought about killing him..hey..its all politics, apparently our leaders think they speak for the people, and thats the final word. anyway, we would do fine if the oil was shut off.
custardpie40 3 years ago
yeah i think USA is the most powerfull country in the world they would do fine if we stop send you oil, but tahts a think i dont want, that comercial relacion is benefisius for the 2 countrys but only if is a relacion whit iquality, exxon did abuse and steal venezuelan oil but that has nothing to be whit USA people thats is a great people, anyway if the we stop send them oil we wil be fine to will not be easy but countrys like China and Russia are possible markets

I hope all this just goes away, but i doubt it, prices will keep rising, hurting everyone, the person who has to heat their house to keep their family warm and so on..

Venezuela has the largest conventional Oil Reserves in the Western Hemisphere (HALF OF IT or 77.5 billion barrels). This oil is easy to refine just like any other Oil. (No need for the US here).

the only thing obama is going to change is half of the race of the person in the white house. his idea of social services to the middle class is a annual 500 tax cut. his foreign policy is virtually indistinguishable from bush.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
Bullshit asshole, Obama 08!
brick4sale 4 years ago
go to his website and read his policy towards the middle east. he is acting like bush's parrot; he talks about continuing the war on terror, how iran is the biggest threat to the region that needs to be stopped, while israel is a valued friend that can do no wrong. he does say that he will talk to iran in negotiation, but with those pre-concieved notions it is hard to image the negotiations to be much more than polite threats and cordial calls to give up independence.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
If you think they're the same then you're mistaken, every politician that wants to make it in US politics has to support Israel. He is the least supportive of Israel which is hard when many Jews, and others still think hes a Muslim.
brick4sale 4 years ago
they are not exactly the same, but close enough not to make a difference. i am certainly not endorsing republicans and agree with the ideals that many obama supporters do, but people should not buy into the media hype and think this man is going to bring about change.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
obama is a proven apologist for the bush administration by denouncing people as "radical" for speaking up against funding the war and occupation. he has also supported, and still supports, the destruction of social services, tax cuts for the rich, continuing and expanding the war on terror, and supporting an permanent occupation of iraq.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
for obama to be considered a "democract" only goes to show the right wing nature of the party, mainly because of people like obama who have chose to accept and apologize for bush's policies in order to make a political career. this disgusting accomodation is the reason obama is so popular among rich voters and republicans. the things he will get done are in essence bush policies with toned down rhetoric.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
this is not what people are voting for. people who vote democrat are generally anti-war, pro-peace, support social services, and believe that wealth should not be further redistributed towards the rich in society. these are good ideals, the problem is that clinton, obama, and not even edwards, do not stand for them.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
the candidates that did stand for them, gravel, kucininch, green party, get blacklisted from the media. these candidates have made it in US politics through democratic support of the people, not media/corporate sponsorhip; they do not blindly favor israel and would not offer a blank check for their aggression. rather than vote for the politicians who would take us away from the path of destruction this country is on, people let their media masters tell them who is "electable".
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
to accept obama as the lesser evil because he is electable betrays all the virtuous ideals many democratic supporters believe in and are voting for. this hands US democracy to companies who fund candidates, politicians, and own the media. the media has it so twisted around that people actually believe obama stands for ideals that his policies contradict.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
obama gives a blind check to fund israeli aggression, just as bush did; in this respect they are the same. he supports permanent occupation and continued funding of the way; in this respect he is being led by bush "war on terror" policies on a leash. he supports erosion of social services and increasing the profit-ownership of social services by giant companies.he supports annual tax cuts to make up for these losses that would not even pay a months living expenses for a middle/lower class person

I think Chavez should learn form what happened in Iran, Iraq, and the Middle East. He should follow the Chinese example for how to deal with the US. China achieved good portion of its goals and US can not do anything about it.

What happened in Iran?
chefgrad 4 years ago
In 1953 President Eisenhower authorized Operation Ajax in which the elected Iranian Prime Minister Mossadegh was removed from power and arrested in favor of US alley Reza Pahlavi. Mossadegh only mistake was the nationalization Iran oil reserves.
thutmoseIII 4 years ago 3
and how was china different? they nationalized all of their resources after maoist revolution, without giving concessions. the only difference is that an invasion would have been too costly; instead the US helped japan gain its WWII goals: domination of the asian sphere.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
China of the 1950's is a terrible example, considering the Great Leap forward killed millions. Moreover, the thing in Iran was due to British constantly saying that the elected prime minister was Marxist, and thus the CIA helped in the overthrow. Both sides in the Cold War did these tactics
brick4sale 4 years ago
nevertheless, the revolution allowed china to have ultimate control over its markets and did succeed in liberating the chinese economy from imperialism; mainly because it was not a small defenseless country that could be invaded.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
im also not endorsing all of mao's policies in implementing the ethics of socialism; in fact, i think some of his measures were too heavy handed to work; you cannot force people to believe something. i was just pointing out the fact that it was the revolution and the independence it brought that allows china to control its economy, and markets, today.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
many people in the west seem to only blame maos brutal and flawed policies while ignoring the wars and isolation imposed on china from the west during that period, which affected chinese policy and success greatly. the country did not exist in a bubble and was facing tremendous pressure from all sides by western forces (japan, korea, vietnam, taiwan, etc.). the US was using all its capabilities to isolate china. there was still drastic improvement in the living conditions of chinese.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
lets keep Iran as an example... The oil is once again nationalized and has been for sometime. I think Chavez is learning.
chefgrad 4 years ago
it has been nationalized, and has faced the same isolation/aggression tactics that were used against vietnam, china, north korea, cuba, nicaragua, chile, guatemala, hati, etc. etc. etc. these are consequences of the US system trying to enforce its control, not nationalization as an effective way to promote growth and provide for the people of the country.
jklasdfjdfksl 4 years ago
actually, nationalization is the way. The oil belongs to the country, just because a bully jumps in and makes things difficult for you does not mean you have to give up what's rightfuly yours. I despise the Iranian regime, I had to leave the country because of them, but on this issue, they have every right. US regime is a bully, and some people tend to stand up for themselves.
chefgrad 4 years ago
i agree and have respect for the iranian regime for taking the stand they took. i may not agree with every one of their policies, but i respect the room and need for diversity in this world in order for humans to learn, grow, and cooperate. the fact is that since the revolution, democracy in iran has been increasing; it is still a young nation and has faced tremendous obstacles of subversion by means of war and interference in its internal affairs by foreign powers, but has overcome them all.

They're in bahrain, a us ally. Why would they do that? I don't think they can anyway.

The King of Bahrain is the founder and CEO of Al Jazeera. All the US can do is bomb their offices and kill their journalists in retaliation of Al Jazeera not reporting the fascist propaganda the US want broadcast.
