  • Great song to inspire :) I love it. I know I can be what I wanna be ...

  • What Album is this song from?????

  • @Str8Swa99er gods son i think

  • 121 people dont know they can be what they wanna be

  • And this is how hip-hop changes lives.

  • im white, yet i come from the hood

    i dosent look like it,but i know i could

i could be a rapper, and you cant discourage me cause see

    i know i can,be what i wanna be

lol i know its sounds corny but thumbs up if you feel me(unintentional rhyme at the end:D)

  • @ClvdIndiansfan ur a dumbass

  • @cbpist0lpete u can shut the fuck up i was barely even trying

  • @ClvdIndiansfan To tell you in a cultural way you probably not gonna understand and is hard hitting:

    You Must Learn!

  • @ThisIsVice i know i must learn there is alot i need to learn still cause i aint no legend and i dont think i will be,i just want to rap,and be a good one

  • @ClvdIndiansfan i was more about writing rhymes on youtube dats as dumb as can be

  • @ThisIsVice well dat too i mean lookin back it was barely a rhyme more like a nursery rhyme lol

    here's what i can really do(for now)

when you from da hood you gotta light it up like firewood, and ya know ya could, and ya would too,i aint anywhere near way over due,but you dont seem to think so do you,im new,and you could even prove it too dude, from out the side streets just turning thirteen

flowing like smoke steam out and about on halloween, maybe even a sallery from out an nba team

  • @ThisIsVice that wasnt about message just rhymes really but im getting better over time

  • @ClvdIndiansfan You must read*

  • @ThisIsVice read what,the dictionary?cause im already doing that

idk what else your trying to say

  • tupac best rapper but nas is pretty good to

  • like this if u think the world should listen instead of hear this amazing song

  • How the hell did that toque not fall of that niggas head?

  • lol let's be real this song is lame as fuck

  • Last verse is straight truth

  • The best rapper!

  • NASS BEST RAPPERR

  • The music back then is way better then the ones we have to day. They had meaning now I just don't like it. Its nothing like how it was then

  • this is what my peers need to listen too ;]

  • Dude omg! This was my childhood song!, playin on the radio everyday :)

  • I Can

  • I Can

  • this is the only reason i dont do drugs :/

  • put it IN the AIR and take a bow!!

  • NAS FROM SAMURAI CHAMPLOO. AWESOME!!!

NAS, NUJABES, TSUTCHIE, & FORCE OF NATURE ARE KINGS IN MAKING & RAPING BEATS

  • i remember when music used to mean something,now........i don't even know what music has come to for example Rihanna her new song cockiness we have people at age ten listening to it and its just about sex..... we really need 2 save the music !!

  • @josied1996 whoa! is this nas from the anime SAMURAI CHAMPLOO? i think it is. man nas rules!!!!

  • This is real music

  • In Arabic Nas Means Peaple

    Nas - Peaple

  • What ever happened to music like this. Maybe musicians want money more than a good message. Duhh. I think that mainstream rappers are a little corrupt with what they should be rapping about. Personally, i think rappers should rap about other things than themselves, instead about corruptness or something like that.

  • what a nice message!

  • I know I can.

  • Nas - Dr Seus

  • real hip hop right here no negative msg nas is a role model unlike alot of other rappers who r just like smoke weed nas makes music about what peaople should be eharing

  • Like this if you're listening to this in 2012 :)

    Save the music, y'all.

  • @mistake34 Shit its 2013 here. =\

  • Nas saan!

  • miss real music like this

  • @detroiteasy couldn't agree with you more

  • Hahaha, the people in egypt hav black!!! Back than they were the kings, but now they live in egypt city called ASWAN, ALSO THOSE BLACK EGYPTIAN ARE CALLED ASWAAN!!!! They r the real old egypt!!!

  • Respect for NAS from Italy....listen to Co'Sang, Neapolitan hip hop ;)

  • shit this is good

    i love it

  • lyrics so dope!new hip hop dont remember dis'

  • finally i found this song!!!!! i havent heard it in a longgg time.

  • Save the music, from the capitalistic, revenue-greedin', soulessness trash of what a majority of mainstream "hip hop" has become today. The old school hip hop legends know who they are. Keep it real. Keep it legit. Nuff said.

  • The only rapper who didn't get washed up by this new hiphop he left right before.

  • thats like so true people in Egypt was blackk

  • good song expect the part "in god we trust".

  • @Supersomonerandom ...what?

  • @crazymuppet3 as i said, i didn't like the part "in god we trust" in lyrics. the rest of the song was okay

  • @Supersomonerandom Why not?

  • @crazymuppet3 freedom of religion. it's incredibly arrogant to say "in god we trust". how can he know that all of those kids have been brainwashed by christians?

  • @Supersomonerandom What are you talking about nas makes plenty of references to god in his songs this shouldn't surprise you, heck even one of his albums was called godson.

  • @crazymuppet3 Oh well I have not listened that much to his music. Better stop listening to it straight away then

  • @Supersomonerandom Wow...

  • @crazymuppet3 what? :P

  • @Supersomonerandom Why are you an atheist?

  • God Bless NAS

    NEVER SOLD OUT

  • LUV U NAS... BRAZIL LOVE'S U \0/\0/\0/\0/\0/

  • Nas is amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • real rap..

  • Nas is.sexy

  • there's that kid from every body hates chris at 0:28

and at 2:32 junior from my wife and kids

  • at 0:28 , that lil nigga in the middle tha young kid off Everybody Hates Chris !!

    AHAHAHA !!

  • said alexander the great cut off the sphinx nose? cmon nas...

  • @WizCudder1 Alexander didn't want any other civilizations to know who exactly built the sphinx so he destroyed the nose. They were built to represent physically the people who constructed them. The Africans (Persians/Egyptians) built the Sphinx, so naturally they modeled the face to look like their own people. The nose was most likely very noticeably not Caucasoid, or not looking like any person from where Alexander was from.

  • nas is a racist nigger!

  • "You don't want to be my age and can't read and write" Unfortunately this is going to be true for a lot of kids because the teachers just don't care anymore. I got two neighbor kids who are in their teens and read on at best maybe a 2nd grade level, the only things they've learned in school is school is not to learn, it's to play games, if you don't get something just give up because it's too hard, and even though they're reading 5-8 grades below their levels, the teachers tell them it's enough.

  • Hell yea, 2012

  • Man I heard this song in school and it was the best song I ever heard well almost the best song. :)

  • The history portion is true. Learning about Africa in high school right now and I can say that he's not wrong in any of it. Kush was an empire. Timbuktu was a HUGE educational center. Alexander did go to Egypt, hence the city of Alexandria. Gold was a major role in the economy. Scholars came from all over. After the attacks, the trade routes were destroyed, "Africa was almost robbed naked".

    It's all true.

  • @ILikeSchtuff97 Exactly. Why would they have any reason to take the Africans as slaves anyway if there wasn't any value in owning them? They'd take the slaves that had the skills for whatever job they needed done, and ship them off to wherever their skill was needed. Too many people, white and black, fail to realize this.

  • @TheJuantheGr8 Apparently I'm late into this conversation but I'm not sure I get it, the Africans were taken as slaves since they were capable of doing the work?

  • @TheBookWorm1718 Sort of, what I learned and what I believe is these different groups in Africa had Prisoners of War, and they would separate their prisoners based on what they could do, like farmers would be forced to do farming. Then Europeans came over, and offered the leaders of these African groups money and brew for slaves, so these leaders gave these Europeans their best workers. That's why Africa is screwed up, they sold off all their smartest people.

  • i heard this on the radio once.....the only rap song my mum liked lol....shame the kids of today don't hear the music they need to progress....all this gangster street rap is misleading the youth.

  • I just love this song

  • I listen to this whenever I want to motivate myself for something I want.

  • Clarification that no matter what anyone else says, you can do whatever you wish if you believe in yourself.

  • @minyman1231 go for it! and try reading about weightlifting, think you'll be glad you looked into it in the long run.

  • @ReitersOfTheStorm i will man thanks

  • @minyman1231 Im 13 in the 8th grade and I weighed 95 from 6th grade to 3rd term last year. Now I weigh 110. I Fell in love with hip hop in 6th grade. I always felt the need to be different than everyone else.I AM going to be a hip emcee, and will heal the wounds of forgotten legends. Back in 6th when i ryhmed i was awful, but now even all my friends agree I could easily keep up with NY hip hop. On top of that im white which means less respect. You keep heading with your dreams. peace

  • this is an 1 of his albums?

  • What he said is true.

  • kids these days should listen to this

  • They wanted to be gangsta. There they are

  • 115 people aren't where they wanna be

  • 115 HAVE NO FAITH IN THEMSELVES

  • "save the music" but music has pretty much been destroyed by rebecca black

  • The history lesson he spits is all true, unless you have facts to disprove everything he said????? Do you??? I doubt it, I'd much rather listen to his facts than your's. Just be glad he ain't rapping about how many ho's he got or the nine under his seat when he ride or how fuckin g'd up he is!

  • @pblunts420 well there might be some truth in it, but he uses history in the same interpretative way as all who want a specific message through.. as such the important thing is not the "history lesson" but the message the verse provide.

  • @ReitersOfTheStorm Exactly I don't think he meant to be historically accurate. When you grow up in a project it is beat into your head that there is no way out of the trap. I think he exaggerated the truth to spread the message that black people use to be noble and that they still can be if they work for it.

  • @pblunts420 Alexander The Great never destroyed the Sphinx's nose. It was Napoleon Bonaparte who did so.

  • I love music that had a possitive message

  • last verse is pretty much lies but ya know cute song

  • I KNOW I CAN

  • some people wanted to download this song on thumps-down

  • I did this song in music class. it rememberd me of NAS

    too good man<3

  • Comment removed

  • I liked the first 90% of vid untill the history part, students please cunsult historical doccuments to find your fact

  • @CoolboarderW totally agree with that.. can't figure out why Nas made the verse like that, but I'm sure he didn't do it blindly, but had a purpose with it.. I just think he could have sent the same message without misreading history.

  • @CoolboarderW Looks like someone hold theories to be the truth. The only accurate account of history is dating artifacts and that even comes under questioning. Do not be ignorant in telling that everything written in literature is a fact.

  • @CoolboarderW can u prove em wrong? If you can do it don't just start yappin

I rather bump someone whose telling me something instead of how many bitches on his dick ya digg?

  • @CoolboarderW Who write's your HISTORY "fact" the winner's

those in power write history and controll the future

  • @CoolboarderW And what part of what he said ain't true? :p He might have left out a lot of information, but what he sayin' ain't false is it?

  • 0:30 Lil LL COOL J

  • nas = great ;)

  • I have no idea how Nas can wear a beanie like that. 1:47
