Now I think you're being a little too harsh on Raimi. 1 and 2 were excellent and he made those. And I don't think 3 is nearly as horrible as a lot of people say. Sure Venom wasn't buff but he did look live Venom.
He was forced to put Venom into 3 and I believe since the actors only had 3 movie contracts they had to wrap up as much as they could. And they probably wouldn't have wanted to have left Venom on the loose if they didn't know they'd be able to make more.
Though I'll admit somebody in the back of their mind had to have known that they'd do more.

@SLPIFan Venom is my favorite and when he killed off venom he screwed up the franchise
