  • LMFAO when the Robber said "Oh YEAHH , oHHHH YEAHHH"

  • Press 3 for Taradactle Egges :)

  • Oh yeahh. Ohhhh yeaahhhhhhhh.

  • I rigged up a kill switch in my car that's hidden in the boot, but instead of preventing ignition itself, It cuts off the power to the fuel pump in the rear of the car (mean very little wire for a would be thief to find). so if you start it, it will run for 1 or 2 seconds then cut out, making them think that it's either broken or immobilised, either way making them leave it alone.

  • @dougaholic very clever. but doesnt it annoy you that you have to go into your boot every time you want to start your car?

  • @born2stab Thanks mate, Yeah it definitely can get annoying! I installed it when I first bought my car in 2010, but these days it only gets used if I park in a dodgy area or I'll be be leaving the car for more than a few hours.

  • his forage cap is inside out :p

  • @lessedu Bwm??

  • @Tcoleman821 bmw's push button start

  • if one car is stolen every 4 secs... i calculated just under 8 million cars get stolen a year lol...... and some dude said only 85000 are stolen a year :S

  • @Dodge94z "-Aust Bureau of statistics" "Aust" meaning Australia thats why you got more because they were talking about only their country.

  • the thief sounded like moog.. XD

  • i wanna see u put this switch on a bwm..

  • Most professional jackers will cut the wires anyway, it's probably a better idea to install an immobiliser as they cut the power at the sources of ignition which makes it harder to just cross cut wires.

  • Don't forget to jack up your car!

  • what wire are you putting the switch in line with, one of the ignition wires, or the starter wire?

  • Hey guys love the show but how would I put a killswich in my 96 vs commodore an u should do some how to things on commodores an falcons I've noticed u don't really work on Aussie cars

  • good fucking logic 4 secs

  • first time i;ve seen someone so happy that he couldnt start his car..2:25

  • StripMaster wire strippers!

  • lol they would put a white man on there to talk about it he probably has never stole a car lol

  • Put fake nos tank Make the switch say nos

  • good to see these guys are fellow top gear fans

  • What wires do you connect to the switch?

  • security is key, neat trick.

For more videos like this one and a community of great minds, visit ThinkStageDOTcom

  • yo i got a question... did u connect both ends to the the white/black wires. it seems like my car has the same wiring.

  • I have a killswitch that kills the signal from the crank sensor - more effective than a starter switch (no bump-start) and low power 2mA so cheaper switch/wire needed - I also have a few red-herring switches that look obvious (actual kill switch is a pushbutton hidden in the headlining) and just turn the horn on - it's prevented it being stolen twice now, and it is piss funny to watch someone try to steal it - I leave it unlocked to prevent them bending the doors back etc. (I live in crime-city)

  • 0:53.. LITTLE BASTARD ! XD

  • does this only work for manuals?

  • what alloys do you have on the micra? looks good

  • Can anyone tell me what gauge wire you'd have to use?

  • i remember watching this episode in a few years back

  • i got 7,884,000 cars stolen per year for once every 4 seconds?

  • humm.. i really enjoy your videos but. why the starter wire. your car is a 5 speed the theft would just have it on a the on position and roll and kick start it.. i always aim for a fuel pump relay kill switch

  • @MrSnakeTM yeah the kick start idea makes sense, but usually a hikacker wants to get it and get out of there fast and if he turns the key (or screwdriver or whatever) and nothing happens, he's probably gonna be like 'fuck this car isnt starting' and leave.

  • "THEY SAY HE'S ..."...this is definitely from "TOP GEAR " talking about THE STIG

  • can you do a video on ghosting buttons for kill switches?

  • Good video! Helped me alot!

  • I caught the village idiot tring to steal my car at 4:30 am this morning, thanks for the video mate!

  • I think they have tried to copy the stig

  • nice ute in the backgroung

  • Comment removed

  • @silvertip185 if you dont appreciate what these guys do go and watch some dickhead do it on a hiundai or sumething they are most likely more talented at this than you.... and remember this is their second episode ever so leave mcm alone

  • dont copy topgear please.

  • Woah he has the same shirt as you!

  • I was thinking you could attach a kill switch to a central locking solenoid, have an extra remote and hit the kill switch when you lock the car.

  • you stupid faggot cocksuckers. kill switches are the dream toy of the police.. they will kill your engine remotely then beat the fuck out of you if you havent paid your carbon taxes.. say no to this stupid butt fuckery!

  • @bayonetsluts Um, right...

  • @jcadlols lol.. its true though.. do you think they wont have a generic remote for the cops in ten years time?

  • @bayonetsluts Maybe, but your comment was rather amusing. Besides, If they were to have a generic remote for kill switches, you could simply remove the one you already installed. But whatever, i don't think it'll be an issue that'd pop up anytime too soon. :)

  • The theif knows how to make a killswitch. LOL

  • or you can buy a beamer?

  • Nice Stigism.

  • i will make an eject seat :D

  • pull the ecu

  • @michaelguild13 most cars will work without one, they may run rich or lean but a theif can still take it

  • ok so i see you cut two wires by the ignition and u connected the white wire to your new wire do u do the same with the black wire and your new wire

  • so you have to turn on/off the switch everytime you get out/in of your car?

  • hes like an Australian pirate.

  • if a car is stolen every 4 seconds, how is it that only 85,000 are stolen in a year?

  • @theARMONexchange holidays and weekends excluded ahahahah

  • @theARMONexchange - some of them are returned by thieves who feel guilty after.

  • @theARMONexchange not all stolen cars are reported duhhhh

  • @theARMONexchange some ass holes keep stealing the same cars?

  • @theARMONexchange your numbers are wrong

  • @theARMONexchange cars are often stolen several times

  • @theARMONexchange He didn't freshman year math, at least that's what I heard.

  • @theARMONexchange because someone is wrong

  • @theARMONexchange it can be a minute between a car getting stolen but after the minute 50 cars can get stolen at one time

  • @theARMONexchange probably 4 seconds around the world, and 85,000 in aussie

  • @theARMONexchange Every 4 seconds someone might witness/report a stolen vehicle.

But they might get returned really quickly. But maybe 85000 still go missing/get modded heaps and rego plate changed etc, so they go 'missing'.

  • @theARMONexchange Depends on if they are successfully stolen. As in they get stolen every 4 seconds, but get caught or something.

  • @theARMONexchange only 85,000 where successful, the rest got knock the fuck out

  • @theARMONexchange pretty sure its every 4 seconds world wide and 85000 in aus

  • @theARMONexchange google it

  • @theARMONexchange maybe some are returned after they are stolen

  • A Better switch idea is to use the switches for the hi\lo beams switch in old trucks 1975 or older. the ones on the floor board, new cars don't have this and there easy to install. you can place them up underneath the clutch pedal high up close the firewall, so it isn't accidentally tripped. when you need to start the car you just tap it with your foot to connect the circuit and just tap it again when you get out.

  • @jackass123455 it would be wired into the starter motor relay circuit not the actual starter motor circuit. same principal applies to the ignition barrel.

  • at 1:43 What kind of wire strippers are those :D i want them

  • @AnThOnYrox8 get in line mate

  • @AnThOnYrox8 they are basics tools

  • u guys should have really made a step by step video.. i cant really even catch the tools and items needed. U_U this is just like a demo video.... is there a real instructional video?

  • @almostcraze if you can't realy follow what they did there i'd recomend you don't try this yourself it was very very simple

  • Good place to put a kill switch is to the starter motor wiring easy and the car wont start at all

  • @21Jimmy86 good luck finding a a small switch to handle the kind of amps the starter motor draws

  • @jackass123455 Thank you I have a switch on my starter motor and it works everyday no problems

  • you are now aware that this video is 4:20 long

  • What kind of switch are you using? You said to use 20 amp wire because it is an ignition circuit but the highest amperage switch I can find is 5 amp

  • Even better just use a solenoid to cut flow to the breakline and take a full coverage policy on your insurance :P. Then you can have a good laugh when some douche takes your car for a joy ride.

  • @ 2:50 what was that screeching sound???

  • @headstrong440 serpentine belt at startup, not a big deal.

  • this is not a bad idea, i personally have 2 killswithes on my car... thiefs have stolen my stereo with speakers & everything, even the car battery but the have never been able to driveaway with my car, so this things actually work

  • Alternatively, you can buy a car with a smart chip in your keys. Cross all the wores you want, ecu wont respond.

  • other then the fuel and ignition what would also be helpful that would take time on finding the switch......

  • When you extend wires like they did in this video, you should always use a relay.

  • What kind of switch is it?

I don't want to use one that to small and melt it or something lol

  • Just pull the damn ignition fuse in the engine bay, that way the thief would have to buy a fuse thats specially made for your car, or he wouldn't bother to steal it anyway because it will take time and money. lol.

  • @L0VEwell not really, a paper clip will work well enough in a fuse holder

  • @hayamoto If your paper clip had more than 2 points yes, but most cars have 3-16 prong fuses in the engine bay, that and you would have to bust the window, pop the hood, find the hood latch, then spend time trying to find the fuse box and the right fuse, after that s done improvise a paper clip fuse and then get in and hotwire the car, very tedious process... not worth the effort.

  • @L0VEwell or two paper clips tied to gether.

  • OLOLOLOLOLOLOLO

  • The way i have it set up in my car is that i have a push to on momentary switch underneath the carpet going from the positive to the ignition so that i have to hold down on the correct spot before turning the key. I'll admit however, that for the first few weeks i didn't tell my girlfriend. She would get all riled up and I'd simply blow it off as not having the "touch" when I told her, she went as red as my tool box. I proly beat the 100m sprint record that time.

  • i know you said it would stop you average idiot but i was just thinking you could cut the obvious not stock wire twist it together to complete the circuit and start the car and just bypass the switch all together (oops just made thieves lives easier =P)

  • Average idiot...fav movie- gone in 60 seconds LOL!! thats my fav too lol

  • whats the gauge of that red power wire?

  • People love to steal big trail runner rigs (Like my '89 solid axle swapped Toyota)

Put something similar in it, no more worries about some douche bag stealing my shit anymore.

  • @kmhanley heatshrink wrap

  • nice... what do you call that plastic you wrap around the connectore? (heated with the lighter)

  • heat shrink

  • or just insulating tape

  • эти парни совсем сумасшедшие)))

  • oh shit i think they put a kill switch on the bike lol i wish all the thieves were the average idiot like this guy

  • so happy to steel a car..

  • I just fitted a fith valve controller which actuates a sewage leak into the manifolf which hydrolocks the engine, then BOOM the puss sack greanades simple but effective

  • me too

  • u only put a switch in the wire that runs back too the starter?

it would work fine in a auto car but a manual a quick roll start and its going.

  • so attach the kill switch to operate the fuel pump. if the fuel pump doesn't run, then the engine won't run.

  • @tassiebloke82

lol , another funny kid that know nothing .

a normal car cant run without the key to RUN position ...

    LOL !

  • @hitachi088

egg in ur face yet champ.

    looks like u know nothing

they put the switch on the starter motor wires

not the power side of the ignition. or fuel pump.

but hey u must be another text book mechanic

  • nice job, you could also jsut run the switch to the fuel pump or any other crutial electrical part to your cars running, which is a bit easier than pulling the ignition barrel assembly apart

  • @ozzie454 thanks for the good idea ozzie that does sound easier, and no way for the dude with your ignition in his hand to see, like you would with mightycarmods idea. Im going to be leaving my car for the apalacian trail and am figuring out how to best install a killswitch

    thanks again ozzie

  • That's exactly how I used to do it with my bikes.

My one comment : to fool any thief, take your time to do this properly. Don't cut the cables that close to the ignition switch, but as far away from it as possible. Use the owner's manual or find a second-hand wiring loom at a junkyard for reference if necessary.

A visible fake keypad with wires that don't really go anywhere will turn their attention in the wrong direction, or discourage them from entering the car in the first place.

  • Only comment is that you say "now" too many times...

  • ok this was fun but useless if a professional thief would open you ignition (like someone did to a friend of mine) they would see 2 cables that weren't supposed to be there. leaving the easy choice: cutting the 2 wires and bypassing the Killswitch but like you said this is not to stop them. but so slow them down.

  • which is why you could also run your kill switch to the fuel pump the prevent this problem

  • wow super

  • Hey mate awesome video love you stuff couple questions though, 1 is it the power wire on the ignition module that goes to on and the negative go to off? could you show us which wires you cut and where they were connected to the toggle. Regards

  • every car had a different wire harness so it would be difficult to explain what wires to cut :(

  • u can always do what i did in my truck and wire the safety switch to the hvac lol

  • hae senser1080 lol ur rite u know lol if they want it they will tow it haha

  • If thieves really want it... They'll just tow it.

  • who steals a mazda 121 and feels like he just won a million dollar is a douche bag

  • Would the same methord apply if installing a push to start switch?

  • It is possible...If somehow you can wire the whole starting system to the switch...But that would be idiot. Then I would just need to go to your car and press the switch and I could steal it!

  • Hmm good point but I have keyless entry and start (i still have to turn a switch) so would that solve the fear of it being stolen?

  • I don't think so...Keyless entry and start?I presume you have a buggy...Anyways you would rather get a killswitch then a start one!

  • how it's called name of that "cover black" you heat with the lighter?

  • heat shrink?

  • lolz on the robber

  • I remove my "ignition" and "fuel pump" fuses, then I unclip my crank angle censor, bit of a fuck around but my car is one of the most reknown to be pinched, id hate to walk back to my car park with 3 kids in tow to find two black marks on the road!

  • yea yea thats a good idea thanks bro

  • my friends old car has a kill switch in the cigarette lighter, if it isn't there the car wont start

  • pull the battery and spark plugs out and take them with you.

  • lol

  • that would fuck em, but its a mission to do! Ive got an old holden commodore which is relatively easy to break into and pinch, so I remove my ignition and fuel pump fuses and put them in my wallet!

  • the fuse idea wouldnt work if the person trying to steel the car had half a brain just take the fuse from the head lamps or the horn and replace the fuel and ignition fuses

  • lol...that's a good one. i'd perfer the sparkplugs haha

  • @edstar83 or just pull the fuses for the fuel pump or ignition system

  • @rtsoccerplayer True.

  • @edstar83 Actually thinking take the engine, wheels and fuel tank incase they sniff it.

  • @NorkiddExo lol

  • @edstar83 good one :))

  • @edstar83 Ever heard of disconnecting the fuel pump hmm and taking the battery with you

  • @edstar83 lol good idea.. kind of like burn notice when mike took the spark plug out of the thug's car to prove a point in season 2 ep 8(i love burn notice)

  • @edstar83 that wont stop them from taking whats inside,,,

  • @edstar83 While that's highly effective ... Its kind of inconvenient don't you think?

  • @edstar83 better yet if heres no truck switch and u need a key put it in the frreakn trunk

  • @chamblizi lol

  • the only thing you have to do is rip the plastic of the steering colum and snip the wires and attach them to each other at the snipped point so current can travel stupid switch

  • right so you didn't hear the bit where they say 'wrap and hide the wire'

    grow some ears

  • neat mod

  • awes vid, but id be more interested in seeing how to install a boost kill switch so noob mechanics cant thrash the shit out of my car.

  • how much it costs?? its really good or u need more proctection.wheel clamp are a godd security

  • no they could just replace the fuses with the horn or headlamp fuses so not very efferctive at all

  • lol shooooooosh.... dont want theives reading this.

  • what was that wire stripper he was using at 3:08 ? where did ya get one of those

  • 0:38 Meow lol

  • You know, they sell heat shrink terminals and butt connectors which are better than those cheaper ones and don't require soldering and such.

  • I have found that the least visible but easily reachable position for the switch is under the gearstick gaitor. You can feel the switch but there is no way to see it.

  • So, the thief get's into your car, tries to start it, nothing, looks for the kill switch, finds it takes your car.. If you put it between the alternator and the battery it will still turn over, just won't start, so while the thief tries to steal your car, you'll know about it .

  • you can even put it under the bonnet in the air filter box or something

  • Need ideas for a mounting location!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if you have a center mount glove box, you could put it up high, under a crease, or something like that so its hidden from sight, otherwise if you have multiple switches some where, get one that looks like those, sometimes easy is hidden :D

maybe get a switch that looks like your airvent flow switch... meaning the close open a specific vent you always use, would actually be the switch.

or a magnet controlled switch and put it underneath the cup holder, and then set a magnet there and viola.

  • i put mine in the grab handel it took 4 ever but pretty cool place to put it

  • I did that with my 94' Ford also. But (as MKUltraProject suggested), I've installed the switch in the fuel pump wiring. It has the advantage that the starter makes some noise, but the car won't start. An idiot thief will think the battery is empty or something like that (if NOTHING happens, this could be suspicious...!)

  • then they fuck up your starter ahhaha
