  • miss the old vids Dave, miss old the Dave miss the guy that got me into rc bye old Dave

  • Ha ha ha side bar..

  • i want one

  • how much does it cost?

  • @Mvstraat brushless

  • just throwing it out there, but would reverse thrusters work on an RC plane, or would you just be adding too much weight and complicated wiring/mechanisms to make it plausible. would be something worth seeing for the cool-factor though.

  • @Mvstraat No, EDF= Eletric Ducted Fan

  • your very creative its all cool remote controlled planes and helicopters

  • nice vid dave

  • how much does this plane cost?

  • Scott @ rotor pros = scott Lott ????

  • i have a 18G FPV Micro Video Camera and this plane, the camera works nicely on the side of my flyzone skyfly but where would be a good place for it on this jet? between the jet intakes or on the side next to a landing gear strut?

  • nice landing

  • how does a gyro work?

  • @IPfattyI Like this, "ga ga ga ga ga ga"

  • @RCSuperPowers thats awsome lol

  • @IPfattyI

A gyro works by spinning a wheel. The wheel does not want the orientation of its axle to change because it requires force to change the orientation of the axle, i.e. force to change the direction the wheel is spinning in. it's hard to visualize, but it's a basic principle of physics, if u read about it u will understand

  • @IPfattyI

Basically, momentum has two properties. Speed and direction. You can't change the direction willy nilly

  • nice

  • Way cool. You have a great girl on the camera :)

  • Memory Lane.... :-)

  • do u have flaps on that

  • can you make a tutorial of how to make a rc plane esay ,please?thanks.

my dream is make a own airplane rc.if you doesn t understand this, is because i am spanish!!soy español

  • @timitrainer2008 check in google

"how to make rc aeroplane" it might help

  • that plane is cool it wuz probably made 4 beginners

  • "nice, nice! NICE!! nice... NICEE!!!!!"

    seriously.

  • go val yayayay i love ur vids i am gunna try to get a j3 piper cub

  • how do you get to the edfs and are the 18 amp escs enough amps without burning them out? help!!

  • is this plane able to be hand launched?

  • i wish i had ur skill :( anyway sick flying

  • I want to see you build a scale aircraft carrier platform(modular) and put a launcher on it. A very awesome jet!

  • Comment removed

  • russian jets already have air brakes

  • How do you know where to put your air brakes so its not pitchy

  • if it is a scale plane look for an indention on something where it really goes on the real plane if not do your best and start from there they usually have the best for the real planes

  • Comment removed

  • fly the planes in formation with ur mig 15 i'd like to see that

  • I cut the elevators in half along the seam and taped it back up with blenderm tape, because before it warped the wing because the whole elevator was a single surface and it was really stiff plastic, try that it helps

  • i am really nervious to fly my f-35 and belt cp any tips

  • this is the plane in real life that in the 90's the plane had a mid air collision and landed on one wing

  • your thinking of the F15 Eagle. This is a Su-27.

  • i know this loooks alot like the f - 15 and dint realise the title

  • @bugsbunny159

that would be the f-15 not su-27.

  • my su27 was the stock brushed version and yes, it was underpowered...but that being said, im sure that the basic components on 3s lipo should be absolutely fine for brushless...more improvements can be had in the ducting and even fitting some alternative fans...but 4s probably isnt needed....i loathe 4s actually...i would think that it would be much faster than necessary on 4s.

  • How big is that jet?

  • how about throw that thing first and then make your monologue!

  • hey rc super powers i was just wondering how you made the air brakes and what controller do you use so you can raise the speed brake

  • dude i love this video dude i had a f22 and my dad did the same thing but they end up selling it but hey please message me for some more details and hey man you should make a tv show for rc planes and stuff i love all ur videos dude

  • how much for one of those?

  • have you tried putting air brakes under neith the plane at a different angle

  • ok...then lets go over to the pavement.......

    ok lets!!! LOL

  • on the high alpha on the f18 and su35 u could modify it to have a air brake on the gyros 2 add lift (possibly idk??? i dont know much about how the rc functions change the performance on the gyros and air brakes or flaps)?????????

  • dis video is dangeeddd awesomeeeeee how much do these planes cost

  • You know, one thing that might help it not nose down when you fully extend the air brake could be to make it longer, or even wider at the end. This will move the force's point of application back a little so the downward force will be closer to the center of mass. If you can vary the extension mid-flight, hopefully this won't make a noticeable difference on control at shorter extensions. Or, maybe put it on a track so it can move back a little at full extension.

  • Hi!

maybe a little sugestion with the camera.

In order to us (audience) to see the plane slow down, you may want to have a reference point so we can see the difference, also you might want to try no use the zoom, I did not see the difference.

    =P Nice video.

  • XD

    "nice! NICE!!"

    "nice."

  • The slow-mo laughs never get old :D

  • what about the airbrake between the two vertical fins? cause lots of real life jets have it like this.

  • Awesome Stuff. Will we be seeing a Airbrakes Experiment #2 in the future? E.g The split blade airbrakes like on the f16 that you mentioned?

  • Dave,

Airbrakes are not for your types of planes.

they are wayyyyy to light. spoilers are used on heay planes with a good L/D ratio. like the gliders. not for foamie jets

  • WTF, the video's gone!

  • nope, it aint ;)

  • thank you killshot for the name of that plane. i never pay attention to the names. they showed a little bit of what i was talking about in one of the pictures on the video i think on some kind of cargo jet.

and rc boatbrilar, he doesn't need to land to adjust it but he wants to see how far it will open when it's fully open and that's hard to do when it's flying.

  • Comment removed

  • air brake don't rlly work well with me because i have to in the back and when i first used it broke ff and crashed :(

  • After you are done with the X-36 try to adjust it to have tail fins on the top and bottom of the stabilizer

  • Is it possible or feasible to just reverse thrust on ducted fans (simply change the motor polarity)?

I don't know if there are any motor controllers out there that can do this, but it seems to me to be much simpler.

  • This also apply for the flaps. When I start a plane (MIG 29 foam) or (Su37 foam) I use some positive flaps e.g. 20dg(flaperons) for start. After start I turn flaps off e.g. 0dg, when or if I want to go high alpha I have the flaps on the roll and can go to -30dg(spolerons) for high alpha. And maybe mix with the elevators for very high alpha.

Sorry I do not have video's of my points that's a project for the future.

  • Thanks for this and all your great video's.

I noticed that you landed the plane every time you edit the angle on the air break.

I might be wrong. But I think I saw a DX6i radio. If it is so, you do not need to land every time. Bind plane and radio as you now and after that go to the menu. When menu point is selected you have the servo on the roll and can go up or down on fly so to say.

  • it also makes a nice rc car i like and i want one

  • the guy that is talking about the air brakes cup the air around the jet engine has a good ideia. The plane he is talking about is the tornado GR4 good plane

  • this is something for dave here, why don't you make the airbrake open from the other end?

if you had it open like\ instead of / it wouldn't push the plane down at all.

i got the idea about this from this one jet i saw where the plating around the motor in the back rocked back and they cupped the air.

  • That is great!

  • Doesnt the air brake have to be approximately where the C of G is?

  • "find the smooth spot... bounce

  • the plane can barely get off the ground haha

  • Russian Jet YAY

  • dave thank you for giving me something to look forward to every day god bless you and be safe jumpilot3D

  • lol man the air brake was design four the su-27

way not work in the rc version

  • hya nice vid it rock keep up da gud work

  • get a new camera man!

  • wow that worked realy well, in mid air you could really hear the duct fans fighting against the extra drag the air brake produced!

  • Awesome Air Brake.

Maybe it works so well because the design is ACTUALLY USED IN REAL LIFE?

  • Airbrakes + spoilerons = Dead stop midair

  • Using gyros in planes, next you guys going stuff little monkeys cockpits to fly the plane for ya??

  • That is what Im saying.

  • @tommee10533

Actually look for the big ape holding the controller, rofl.

  • (:3= walrus

  • (\__/)

    (='.'=)

  • love your ideas, and designs, fun fun videos, keep em coming guys!!

  • it flies well, not good

  • who needs an airbrake, put a parachute on it

  • Real men don't need a Gyro!

  • lol scrapey-scrape and cuty-cut

  • NIce

  • Way you not tray mig29 ?

  • i love your videos

  • another awesome vid dave!!! thx

  • I don't think the plane can take the extra weight of that bigger battery. But I guess you found that out the hard way. LOL. nice work guys.

  • Maybe put the center of the airbrake on the center of gravity?

  • Good Idea!

  • Flanker!

  • mayday, mayday the plane is down!!!!

  • Dave thats put air brakes on AN Rc Plane/Jet whateva

  • Learn about soft field takeoffs.

  • scrapey scrape

    cuty cut

    LMAO

  • LOL that sounded funny at the end!

  • not to burst your bubble or anything but it has already been done before

  • Absolute quality viewing from Dave and the crew!

  • pppplllllsssss make a t.v show

  • do you have all the planes and heli's in the top10 heli and plane thingy yourself??

    cheers

  • lol you brok the nose to easy

  • nice

  • Great vid Dave, for another project you should try making thrust reversers on an EDF, that would be cool

  • Series seriously Dave and gang, your work is really top notch. I want to see you have your own show on Discovery Channel, along the lines of an OCC concept. What you all do is fun to watch and very interesting. High levels of skill required and demonstrated on a regular basis. Higher calling? Yes!

  • I totally agree. get your own TV show

  • Hehe, really intresting. A real cliffhanger :)

  • Lovin' it...

  • 4:51 crunch.

  • Your videos are awesome! You should do two of these a week because these videos are the only reason why I watch you.

  • Wow do you guys know any other word besides "nice". JK nice video im kinda a beginner at this stuff but gettin better. I enjoy all your videos and apparently a lot of people do keep it up.

  • I'd love to film your stuff in high speed. Great way to see detail you'd miss in real time.

  • If you can hook up a channel for gyro signal (like on a heli) you could just flip the gyro switch to deactivate it and see how much difference it makes without having to land and adjust the gyro settings.

  • thats pretty cool loved the ending SNAP just a little cutty cut

  • Keep 'em comin', Dave.

  • that was so funny i really cant believe you guys did that and have de guts to put that stuff out here for the public to see gotta give u props.

  • Man, I really dig your channel. Very informative. I recently purchased an RTF RC 'copter and have fallen in love with it. I really think I want to get into the ducted jets now too.

  • Ok Dave man I did this with the your stealth over a year ago. I will post the vid a response. Nice one though!

  • i believe it was the f-22 that had dual duck billed air brakes

  • haha

in the ending you sounded like fat ppl xD

but the airbrake worked pretty well

  • if the thrust vectoring thing works next time you should put that on the high alpha f-18 along with this brake

  • awesome video, cant wait to see the edf F-double deuce with the "thrusty thrust" vectoring. it should be quite a show. you should also do a upgraded version of a edf just like u did for svt hawk and see how fast u can make it go.

  • Bend the rear landing gear forward to put the plane in a slightly nose up attitude and it will take off in half the distance.

  • Great Idea! surprised it didn't slow it down more. The Su27 air brake is right on CG so it shouldn't pitch the plane. The F/A 18 uses down elevator as well to compensate for the rear mounted air brake. Keep the vids coming.

  • how much do i have to pay if i wanna buy that???

  • I had the same problem with my Enforcer where it would stick to the ground and was difficult to take off. I lowered the front wheel slightly to give the plane a little more nose up and it seemed to help.

  • Looks like part of your takeoff problems may be caused by the nose leg bending.

This can put your wing is at a negative angle of attack. I've seen that make an otherwise good plane nearly impossible to take off.

  • Why are you testing an air brake on a plane that might be under-powered?

  • Under powered at take off... It still goes fast in the air. You may just need a little help to bring it back in... Like in a little parking lot!

  • nice job Dave! I was thinking about buying this su-27. Does it come with brushless motor?

  • you should try turning the air brake around:P

  • Coool you should try turning te the air brake around:P it would slow you down alot!:)

  • im sory about my first coment cos i did'nt whatch the video first an your doing a geat job

  • im not saying that its a bad idea its just that on a f-18 and alot of fighters is that the speed brake is at the back betwene the tail or vertical stabiliser also it gos up backwards not forward like u did i love your show as well

  • Very nice.

  • You need to shoot at HD man.

  • DAVE ARE YOU LISTENING??? HD!!!

  • eh I don't really like high-definition/hard drive...yay for mini-dv :)

  • If they went to wide screen it would be better. I'm not fond of HD because of the frame loss problems with fast moving things like plane.

  • The airbrake is placed on the CG of the plane?

PS: the plane is not lazy with 3 cell,it`s scale!

  • HEY DAVE!!! --- bung canards in it :p

  • lol 7:59 that's what she said

  • nice! looked like it worked like a charm. ever thought of making retractable landing gear for your planes?

  • faceplant!! =P

  • LMAO " scrapey scrape"

  • u shoulda flew it without the gyro stabilazation to see what it would do. it prob wouldnt fly much different but u probably have it without it on the 2nd part of this vid. cant wait for next saturday!!!

  • I have to wonder about one thing. You mentioned how the military guys said that the F-18 is pushed down when the brake is used, but we didn't witness that in this video. MY GUESS is that this was due to the much slower speeds which allowed for much less air being redirected. If you were to try this while moving much faster, I would imagine that you would see a more noticeable loss of control.

P.S. I have no experience with RC, I'm just a 19-year-old airplane enthusiast. So I may be wrong.

  • cant wait 4 the f22

  • nice show guys

  • Comment removed

  • LOL the slow mo audio at the end was hilarious!

  • Ouch, that was a nasty concorde you pulled right there at 5:10. Thats why I wanted to hand launch my A-10. Weather's still piss-poor, so I haven't flown it again yet.

  • if you put the airbrake closer to the center of gravity, it might work even better, and not pitch at all.

  • I never would have thought of putting on an air brake. Awesome idea!

Do you guys do much with retractable gear at all?

  • If you had an F-16, you could repaint it to look like Starscream from Transformers!

  • Starscream is a F-22 raptor

  • If youre talking about Starscream from the movie, its an F-22, but in the old cartoon series he was an F-15.

  • I was talking in the G1 series, and thanks for clarifying.

  • you should try to make the air brake wider on a other plane =vp

  • Great video dave i think thats a great idea!

  • Very cool!

  • that was so cool!!! try putting them in a different place or try to remove the gyro...

  • i cant wait to see the 4 cell

  • ohhh verrrryyy nice..... Cant wait to see next weeks video, you guys switched from shooting to editing really quickly this time. Nice work,

    ~Sparktv

  • Hey thanks alot for coming out too dude!
