  • It just goes to show you how little some people know... Never listen to Clown's like this. This hogansking guy is an idiot........ He should be talking about the most important thing in golf which MOMENTUM!!!!!!!! Not once did this 'know it all' talk about the importance of momentum!

SHUT UP FOOL & TRY HITTING A GOLF BALL WITH A TENNIS BALL TIED TO A PIECE OF ROPE!!!!!!!!

  • ZACH...kudos to you for your tips/inspirations!!! ARNIE has also inspired his many SENIORS in his PROSTATE awareness; perhaps you could inspire your many BOOMER friends in Vision awareness...AMD(macular degeneration). AMD has now surpassed Prostate cancer in statistics(Novartis.com). A silent anomaly, AMD needs your HELP Zach in awareness!!!

    Good golfing in 2011 ZACH!

  • thanks....you gave something new to work on at the driving range

  • That's because the spine tilt is away from the target. Where do you think their spine is on the moon?

  • Great analysis of the mechanics of the swing. You should get a soft screen between your mic and mouth to prevent those "percussive" sounds like "k" "p" "s" etc from sounding.

  • why would you measure the spine angle from the right hip to the neck.. if you do that obviously the tilt would appear to be away from the target!

  • move the dam mic away from ur mouth asshole

  • it kind of seems wierd that you just took 10:00 mins. to teels us how they swing when it takees pros like 3 secs. to do all of that by the way great vidio

  • is Zach's swing similar to Duval's swing?

  • you don't do yourself any favours with this comment.

  • this is his normal swing he stays on his left, and has a 3/4 swing never gets to parrallel even with driver

  • you need a new mic.

  • pfff pffff pfff fff fppf golf swing pff pfff pffff pffff zack pfff was all I heard. good video though

  • All I have to say is, invest in a boom shield for that mic. If you can't spring for the 2$, use a sock.

  • Fusion golf is right Zach Has always been Mike BENDER student Zach stays more center stack and tilt wants hip back two so they are more on top of ball and and stays left the whole time and back up they are also much more deeper on the back swing while Bender doesnt both are similar due to the fact they are mac desciples but if u compare Bender swing and a benn& plummer u can see the differences thought u should no

  • they wanna market the swing so they can make mopney from it , tones of money sothy give it a name 'stack and tilt , all it really is weight stackin on the left side from point a to point b, zack johnson is just that , look at david duvals swing he is the same , so you hackers who talk crap about the stack and tilt , think before you speak

  • I'm a plus 2 handicap so I'll dog it all I want. David Duval's game has gone to shit, and unfortunatelt he swings like every normal person, weight transfers back and then forward. They don't need to market the swing when they have Mike Weir (Masters Champ) and Aaron Baddeley using the technique. But those were guys who also had problems with hitting behind the golf ball under pressure.

  • only play off 8, not in your rarified air, but don't you think some greats do s&t? couples' sensational swing immediately comes to mind.

  • are you trying to say couples stack and tilts it?

  • Couples doesn't stack and tilt, Butch wouldn't let boom boom get away with that

  • Although similar in nature, Zach is definitely not a Stack & Tilter. He has worked with Mike Bender since his mini tour days. There are some very obvious differences . Try doing a comparison with Baddeley, making sure you have the same camera angle. The differences will be clear

  • cause damn ur good

  • u wanna analyze my swing?

  • Great video/analysis..i do have a question with the'stack and tilt'style. Do you think this style could potentially lead folks into reverse pivot? Seems you'd have to square the right foot at address to mitigate sway. In regards to weight distribution at set up,stack and tilt seems great for short irons, but with longer clubs it seems easy to deliver the club on too steep an angle coming down. Seems like a flatter plane may be required for this style. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

  • Let me get this straight...

Center of the right hip to the left ear...is where you think the spine is...

As an exercise use a sequence taken from the back view with some golfer wearing something that allows you see the true spine behind the clothing and draw it on the golfer. You just might learn something....

  • I'm not going to listen to the minutia of what I said but I drew line from left hip (not the right) to left ear approximately as if the body was transparent and we can see the skeleton from the face on view with the head, rib cage and pelvis rotating with the spine. Where I drew the lines at the top of the backswing are pretty damn close especially in the fact that Zach dramatically shifts his lower spine during the backswing. ...

  • The perspective as you know is much different from the face-on view than from behind as you can clearly see from the Zach Johnson swing I posted. Anyway the video is simply there to show interested golfers differences & similarities in helping them figure out what may work best for them. Thnx.

  • easy way to get the spine angle, from any angle. draw a spot perfectly between the shoulder points, and then connect it to the tailbone. from the face on view, even when the player has made a backswing you can still draw an accurate spine. no need to do the "left hip to left ear" rubbish

  • Sorry to tell you but not true Pecky from the face-on view. You have to look at the body as if its transparent. From face-on you can't simply draw a line from the tailbone to between the shoulders and expect it to be accurate at top of backswing. How's your game coming along by the way? I noticed you communicate with Clemshaw on occasion. He and I go way back.

  • Zach Johnson works I believe with Bender...who believes in more of a rotational type swing but not necessarily S&T...thanks

  • you got wrong place for low point of swing. try looking at the left shoulder as the club passes it

  • makes perfect sense. So everyone uses stack and tilt at some point in the swing. Those who have problems rotating their hips to shift the way from right to left should use this method (stack and tilt) which simply presets the weight to already be on the left leg so when they come around they don't have to worry about the turn. Correct me if I'm wrong.

With that said, stack and tilt users strike the ball more consistently but there should be some power loss when they strike the ball right?

  • Exactly. With regards to power loss that's not necessarily true. The radius of the arc may be smaller possibly resulting in a loss of power but...there is the possibility of faster & proper trunk rotation resulting in more arm speed & clubhead speed at the moment of truth. With the weight already more on the left side at the top & a flatter left arm plane (single plane) golfers can turn back to the target without having to shift much & worry about being over the top.Good technique for many

  • I am working on coming into the ball from the top of my swing. Should it fell like

you are trying to go to your

left side when you are coming into impact

which will give you the lag and not the

earlier release which loses all the power and make you hit them fat

  • I have a question. For Tiger's type of swing, how much weight is on each foot at address, on top, and at impact?

I'm working on my weight transfer and eliminating swaying away from target.

  • for tiger swing its either 50/50 or 60/40 on the right foot depending on the shots. at the top hes at 70/30 then at impact 80/20 so most of your weight on the left foot. then you just take you finish. tigers swing is an new school athletic position

  • Just saw your question (was away). Kent's answer below is pretty good. If he was to actually step on a scale...he'd probably be favouring his left side slightly at address with shorter clubs & pretty much equal with most other clubs. Maybe favouring the right a little with the driver but not much...

  • Weight distribution is a feel thing unless you're using the DBS (dynamic balance system... sensor platform & software). Tiger may very well feel 50/50 at address when in reality he could be 40/60 with a short iron. Same at top of backswing: His feeling of being 80% may feel like 70% to someone else or vice-versa. Again Kent's answer below is not bad (dependant on club). I prefer to see a little less on the right side at address as he explained, which is what I believe is true in Tiger's case.

  • Great explanation. Thanks for this and for the major winners' swing video.

  • thnx

  • Well done mate, ur obviously knowledgable. Nice posting!

  • Appreciate it.Thnx for watching.

  • Good analysis, but Zach is not coached by Bennett and Plummer, but by Mike Bender at Timacuan near Orlando.

  • Actually yeah...and I knew it was Bender...got my Mikes mixed up for some reason. I guess because are quite a few guys working with Bennett and Plummer. Thnx for the correction and the comment.

  • excellent post, would you make few comment on my swing? please.
