Mishka is good, but my favorite is Odie - talking pug from David Letterman show, who says "I love you". Actually, because of Odie I tried to teach my dog to speak..
So cute. I had a cocker spaniel who looked just like this one. Her name was Brandi and we had to put her to sleep 2 weeks ago after having a stroke. She was 13. I miss her sooo much each and every day. :-(
Hold the treat in front of the dog's nose and say: "Hello". The dog at some point will start making different barking sounds. Reward your dog just for barking. Next day try to reward mostly for special kind of barking that resembles "Hello". If it's a wrong barking, say "No!" and ask the dog to repeat. Do not spend more then 5-10 minutes a day, otherwise the dog will get tired. All dogs are different, but special and talented in something.
That was stupid

I am so sorry about your loss!
Maybe you should get a new puppy and give it a lot of love you would otherwise give to Brandi.
